It was originally built in the 1700s. It is a rural farm, a “baglio”, a “masseria”, a typical Sicilian building with a courtyard in the front and rooms that open up on it. Surrounded by vineyards and olive groves located about 500 meters from the sea, with Mediterranean sunset view.

We had a wonderful week in this absolutely perfect setting! It's the ideal place to relax in the countryside with just a short distance to the Laguna and Marsala. We had access to the herb and tomatoe garden, fresh eggs from the chicken, we cooked and barbecued fantastic meals and had every support you can hope for in finding our way around. Great windsurfing and kiting! A good place to bring little kids as well...We will come again! Thank you!!!!

From the villa's lemon trees and vegetable garden to the nearby town of Marsala, with its fish market and nightly passagiata, staying at Salinara Yumi was a beautiful way to experience a slice of Sicilian life. We stayed in the Poet's House, a chic two floor apartment with plenty of privacy and charm. From Salinara, it was easy to explore Trapani, the Egadi Islands, Erice and some of the most historic Marsala wineries. I would recommend to anyone in search of an authentic, lowkey, sundrenched experience. Adriana and Yumi were very sweet and helpful, and made recommendations for restaurants, sights to see, beaches to visit and more. All in all, a lovely week for my husband and I!

Our stay at the Villa Salinara was a total delight. With the aid of Ariano and Yumi, our hosts, we discover a world that far surpasses our expectations. We now consider these two young people part of our family. They shared their resources and knowledge with us that proved to be most helpful and informative. We Their observations expressed in our evaluation by Yumi and Adriano was right on the money! All of the members of the Spina family who were fortunate enough to meet the hosts during our stay, share the same enthusiasm and look forward to returning to Sicily. Yumi was called upon to assist us with the return of a costly item which was left behind after our departure. The process was swift and the item was received at our doorstep within a few days. We cannot thank her enough for her assistance. Tanti baci ( many kisses ) Ariano and Yumi and their darling son. Molto buono fortuna a tutti e due, (good fortune to you both).

My family and I had an absolutely wonderful time at Yumi and Adriano's house. The property is beautifully restored, charming, peaceful, authentic and relaxing. A little oasis in the perfect setting! It's very clean, well kept, comfortable, quiet and spacious. You will find everything you need. The house is the perfect base from which to take half or full day trips including: Marsala, Palermo, Trapani, Egadi islands (highly recommend!) Erice, Scopello, Riserva dello Zingaro, San Vito lo Capo. The sunset views from the salt pans close the house are not to be missed. Yumi, Adriano and Nathir were extremely helpful and accommodating. They gave us great tips for local restaurants and excursions. Communication was very quick. There were no issues with late night check-in and directions to the house were very precise. I would also highly recommend the additional breakfasts, they were some of the best breakfasts I have ever had - super fresh produce in a beautiful, relaxing setting! This was one of our most memorable holidays and we really look forward to coming back! Would highly recommend staying here. Grazie mille per tutto!

Our stay at the apartment was lovely. It's a gorgeous little oasis with beautiful old world charm. Would happily stay here again. The on-site gardener is so lovely and helped us with anything we needed.

About Salinara Yu&Ad

I'm Japanese, I speak Japanese, Italian and English.
My husband is an Italian, speaks Italian, English, French and Spanish.
We have 2 beautiful boys.

I have lived most of my life in Tokyo, then one day I decided to move to Rome.
After almost 10 years in Rome, we decided to move to Sicily that we fell in love at first sight.

I believe in what Goethe saying. "You have to come here, to Sicily, in order to understand Italy."

Our villa is held with love and Japanese precision, decorated with an authentic Italian, specially Sicilian style. The historic name of the villa is VILLA SALINARA.
Just 500 meters from mediterranean sea with many islands close to. We are living small city named Marsala, famous for beautiful sea, archeology, foods and especially wine. I am a sommelier too.

The villa was supposed to be used only by our family and friends, but one of those friends told us about Airbnb and then we visited their web site and decided to try it. When the villa and apartment are free, we open up them for short rentals. We really enjoy to meet new guests and give some piece of story of Sicily. Our more than 10 years experiences and curiosity for Sicily can make your vacation much more interesting.

We have a passion for sailing, traveling, organic gardening, living more sustainably with wonderful nature of Sicily.

Thank you for reading our profile and hope to see you soon in Sicily!
