Yumi was exceedingly warm, friendly and helpful from the outset of our Airbnb correspondence. And the villa itself was beyond our expectations - even more special than it looks in the photos. Yumi and her husband have ingeniously restored a very old structure, using old materials. As we discover the details day to day we are more and more delighted. And amazingly, practicality has been preserved: everything works down to the plumbing. Finally, the property is large and lovely, with fruit, vegetables and even eggs that Yumi shares with
guests. Shone the gardener is a gem and very very helpful.
We had a wonderful week in this absolutely perfect setting! It's the ideal place to relax in the countryside with just a short distance to the Laguna and Marsala. We had access to the herb and tomatoe garden, fresh eggs from the chicken, we cooked and barbecued fantastic meals and had every support you can hope for in finding our way around. Great windsurfing and kiting! A good place to bring little kids as well...We will come again! Thank you!!!!
Hi, thanks to yumi and Adrian. You have a beautiful villa and could not have been more accommodating. After a long drive without battery on our phones for directions, you came and found us to take us back to your great rustic farmhouse. We loved the history and charm to your place along with the fresh eggs from your chickens. We would highly recommend this villa to our family and friends. Lots of beaches nearby, lovely food and wine on the doorstop. Thanks again to Adrian for taking us on an amazing sailboat trip around the egadi islands, beautiful along with the fresh food and sushi caught moments before eating. A great place and we hope to come back.
The property is beautifully restored and full of character and Yumi and her whole family were wonderfully welcoming and helpful. Many thanks!
We had a wonderfull stay in Villa Salinara, a nice old house in typical sicilian farmstyle. The house was clean and we had enough space inside and outside. Yumi and Adriano were very helpfull and really nice people. They gave us extra wood for the fireplace and give us some very interesting tips of where to go and what to see. So we discovered a lot in this area of Sicily, art, culture, history, nature, food and good times. We were here in April, and I can assure you, everything was green and I have never seen such an abundance of wild flowers everywhere, what a lovely sight!! It also gave us the opportunity of realizing that you can live with much less than at home; the "Less is More"- feeling. It was a succesfull stay in Marsala. Thank you Yumi.
We spent 10 days in the Villa Salinara ("Antica Residenza") in the end of September and wholeheartedly recommend this place! Yumi and Adriano welcomed us warmly and Adriano took the time to explain us everything about this part of Sicily, such as archeological sites, natural reserves, the most wonderful beaches and restaurants to try. He and his assistent Mangiu even carried us around the village to show us everything that could be necessary during our stay.
We must say, that already this part of Sicily is really worth visiting, but when it comes to the Villa Salinara, we were really, really amazed. Yumi and Adriano renovated and furnished this antique house with expertise and a wonderful attention for details. Each apartment has it's very own charme and it is very nice to go around and discover all those little details.
We found that a car was quite necessary in order to benefit from the nicest places around (Zingaro Park, the vivid town of Marsala, the greek temples of Selinunte or Segesta, etc.) and also to reach the really nice beaches (next to Vila Salinara, the sea is beautiful but not deep enough to swim).
All in all, this vacation was an anamazing experience that we warmly recommend to anybody who value a very special 'ambiente', wonderful nature, historic sites, good food and very open minded hosts. Thank you, Yumi, Adriano and Mangiu!

I'm Japanese, I speak Japanese, Italian and English.
My husband is an Italian, speaks Italian, English, French and Spanish.
We have 2 beautiful boys.
I have lived most of my life in Tokyo, then one day I decided to move to Rome.
After almost 10 years in Rome, we decided to move to Sicily that we fell in love at first sight.
I believe in what Goethe saying. "You have to come here, to Sicily, in order to understand Italy."
Our villa is held with love and Japanese precision, decorated with an authentic Italian, specially Sicilian style. The historic name of the villa is VILLA SALINARA.
Just 500 meters from mediterranean sea with many islands close to. We are living small city named Marsala, famous for beautiful sea, archeology, foods and especially wine. I am a sommelier too.
The villa was supposed to be used only by our family and friends, but one of those friends told us about Airbnb and then we visited their web site and decided to try it. When the villa and apartment are free, we open up them for short rentals. We really enjoy to meet new guests and give some piece of story of Sicily. Our more than 10 years experiences and curiosity for Sicily can make your vacation much more interesting.
We have a passion for sailing, traveling, organic gardening, living more sustainably with wonderful nature of Sicily.
Thank you for reading our profile and hope to see you soon in Sicily!
