The Space

If you are wanting to step outside the usual beige uninspiring accommodation offerings, then the Port Douglas Artist's Tree House is for you. Filled with major collections of inter/nationally renowned artists and eclectic and stylish furnishings, the Port Douglas Artist's Treehouse finds the perfect balance between comfort, and cool, artistic contemporary style with an affordable price. Its a perfect, creative holiday rental for friends and families.

Situated in the heart of the beautiful village of Port Douglas, you can stroll into the main street or take a walk over to the beach, just a minute away. Spend your days lazing by the beach, diving the Great Barrier Reef, trekking though the rainforest, or sampling the fantastic restaurants a walk away.

The Port Douglas Tree House features three bedrooms, two living rooms, two bathrooms, and balcony, garden sitting area, courtyard area leading to shared pool. The size of the two story townhouse is 140 square metres, leaving room for all to spread out and relax. It sleeps up to six - but we can also close off a few rooms, so it would suit couples as well. Get in touch about a great price.

On the second floor, polished wooden flooring leads to an open plan fully equipped kitchen featuring wooden benches. Expansive sliding french doors open the living area to the balcony area, creating inspiring tropical living which is great for dining and enjoying the hundreds of birds flying past everyday. The large kitchen has an electric stove and dishwasher, toaster, juicer, blender and other appliances, as well as settings for six people. Gorgeous bifold windows open up to a servery on the balcony area.

There is a small upstairs study area, a dining table for six, a living room with two three seater couches, with DVD player, selection of DVD’s and 32 inch LCD TV.

The upstairs bedroom has a queen size bed and large cupbourd space. The upstairs bathroom has a shower and toilet.

On ground level the front bedroom can split between a king and two singles beds. The smaller second bedroom consists of a single bed and a trundle bed if needed. The downstairs bathroom has a bath/shower, toilet and laundry with washing machine and dryer. There is a secondary living room with teak parquet floors, and secondary study area, with French doors opening to a small gardens setting to enjoy the gardens.

There is a side door leading to a private courtyard with direct access to the pool. The pool, although shared, is rarely used, so you will most likely have it to yourself. The towering trees keeps the water crisp – fantastic in the summer months.

  • We had a lovely stay at the tree house with our family. The house is unique and beautiful and the lush surrounds were lovely.
The house is a nice walk to the nearby four mile beach, and not too far from the shops in town. There were lots of handy things at the house to make our trip enjoyable, like toys and and a highchair.
And Tina was really nice and was always helpful with any questions we had.
We enjoyed lazy evenings on the balcony overlooking the palm trees. And woke up to the sounds of the jungle... absolute paradise.

  • This is a great little place in the heart of Port Douglas. It is a bit like a private museum full of paintings, quotes, old-fashion lamps and colourful plates stuck on the wall. Nice to spend some time on the balcony, surrounded by coconut trees and looking at the fruit bats hanging on big gums across the road. Quite, relaxing and very close to the centre of town. And the pool is so refreshing after a sticky day! Only downside is the lack of cooking utensils when you stay with a bigger family and wish to cook instead of eating out...

  • We had a wonderful and very memorable stay at The Artist's Tree House. It has a wonderful lay out that made it very comfortable for our family giving everyone their own space, but also lots of common areas to all congregate. The unique decorations and design made it extra special and fun to look around. We loved looking out into the trees and the warm breeze that travels through the house. The location was great allowing us to explore the lovely town of Port Douglas, four mile beach, the rainforest, and the great barrier reef! Port Douglas has a great feel to it, and I recommend it over Cairns if you are considering both, as it has a quaint small town feel and less of a big city vibe-but access to the same activities. Thank you for designing this unique house and opening it up for us to stay!

  • Great stay at Tina's, she and her husband couldn't be more helpfull. 'The Artists Tree House' was a source of constant conversation! Great position for covering all the places we wished to visit. Plus the beach only minutes away! The pool.......a perfect place to cool down. We even enjoyed the monsoon downpour! ( which a local called.... With Ozzie accent, 'aliddle sprinkle!). Loved it! Loved Port D!

  • The Artist's Tree House was a great choice during our 6 days in Port Douglas. We arrived to an impeccably clean house with everything in order. The house was well stocked with all the beach accessories one would need along with all the kitchen supplies for home cooking. Tina was able to provide a port-a-cot as well for our infant. She also fabulously decorated the house with an eclectic mix of art work, photos and antiques. Everyday I would notice something new on the walls.

Tina was very responsive during all our communication before and during our visit. She offers great recommendations of restaurants and activities to do in the area.
