Welcome to a perfectly planned one-bedroom apartment in the trendy area of Midsommarkransen. Just one minute from the subway station, in the most charming house of the area often referred to as the "Brooklyn of Stockholm", the modern apartment is perfect for a couple or for 2-3 friends.
The kitchen is spacious and fully equipped (brand new fridge and freezer, toaster, water boiler, mixer etc) and seats up to 6 people. The original white wooden floors from 1912 and the exposed tile wall gives the kitchen a unique style.
The living room comfortably seats 5 people on the two sofas (one of which can be slept on, not fold out) and the custom made bookshelves designed by the owner´s brother gives the room a homey and stylish feeling. The 40 inch TV (with the possibility to connect MacBooks for viewing films), the Nintendo Wii and the high-quality stereo system makes the room perfect for chilling.
In the bedroom there is a 140 cm wide custom made bed that comfortably fits two people (the hard Futon mattress is both comfortable and very good for your back). Fast wi-fi internet is of course included, free parking in the area, the subway ride into T-Centralen takes 15 minutes, into the trendy area of Södermalm only a couple of minutes. The owner has two bikes that can be rented for 10 euro/day.
The area is quiet and cosy with cafés, restaurants, a local cinema and a grocery store a one minute walk from the apt (open 8-22 every day). A 15 minute walk from the apt you find the beautiful lake Mälaren with wonderful walking/running paths and a pittoresque garden café.
The neighbours are relaxed and friendly, but try to keep the music on an ok level night-time. No indoor smoking, please. No pets allowed.
We just loved staying at Andrea's. Midsommarkransen is a quiet but hip district close to everything; the house is situated literally 50 meters from metro. It's quite a unique old house, very beautiful, with great private inner yard, grill, benches and colourful lights around.
The flat is undescribably cool - not big but extra comfortable, with unusual zoning, full of life and things to stare at :) There's a huge tv with stereo sound system, a big library, 2 very cosy sofas in front of the tv, much light and a funny tiny bedroom (which is very comfortable nontheless). We missed absolutely nothing there, felt completely at home and very relaxed.
Andrea was always helpful (both in messages and when we arrived) and easy-going.
Would be happy to stay again and highly recommend to everyone, especially to those who like creativity, cinema, music and art.
I simply loved the apartment. Compact but well organized. Great lightiing for the dining table or if you use it as your desk - also great.
The bed is a high platform, and if you are short, there is a small one step and up and you're in.
kitchen in spacious and the sofa and love seat are also worthy. There's a big TV and and wi-fi.
Here is the thing, Andrea really makes you feel welcome, and tells you to feel at home.
But the location is outstanding. Quiet residential streets= literally a 90 second walk from the exit/entrance of the Midsommerkransen T-Bana. Nice restaurants in the area too. Only about 10 minutes to Stockholm Central station off peak.
highly recommended for solo or a couple. I'd stay there again.
Andrea was very nice, kind and helpfull for all our business trip in Stockholm.
She organised evrything to welcome us at 1AM at night, gave me the best way to go to work and other nice informations.
The flat was nice and cosy, perfect for us.
The metro station is right in front ,so it is easy to access.
Andrea welcomed us to her cosy and lovely flat when we arrived, so it was nice to meet her, plus she gave us a few tips regarding local cafes, supermarkets, etc.
The flat was comfortable, with all the appliances you would require and very well connected with the centre of Stockholm, as there is a tube station very close by (just 1-2min walk from her flat).
We had a lovely break and we would recommend this accommodation to either single travellers or couples.
It was a pitty Andrea wasn’t in Stockholm when we arrived, but she sent us by email all instructions about the apartment before we arrived so it was very easy to find it and get the keys, she sent us the information of all details we might wonder during our stay. The apartment was very clean and nice, located in a old-style house which results in a apartment structure maybe not so comfortable as in new ones but very cozy and charming. In my personal opinion, the apartment is ideal for one or two persons, no more, and the mattress was a little bit too hard, but that’s so personal and subjective! Its situation is the best of the apartment, in a calm and nice area and very very close to the subway entrance, 100 meters maybe? It's so close that I think it takes less than one minute walking arrive to the subway. From there it takes 15 minutes to get the city center so, in my opinion that's the perfect situation :)
The apartment has a good site, the subway and the supermarket are nearby. Stockholm is a very welcoming city, a damage that Andrea is not had a lot of time to grant us.
Hi! I am a friendly, relaxed and very social woman working as a host on radio as well as a freelancing journalist and moderator at various film related events. Originally from Finland, I have lived in Stockholm since 1999, in the current apartment since 2006. I love film, dancing to electronic music (I can recommend the best clubs in Stockholm if you are interested), hanging out with friends, running, doing yoga, reading (as you see from my big collection of books in the bookshelves designed and made for me by my carpenter brother) and of course travelling. My favourite spots are cities like New York, Berlin (where I´ve lived), Budapest and Hong Kong, but I also enjoy more exotic locations like the jungle of Ecuador or the beaches of Costa Rica. I enjoy making food at home as well as going out to restaurants, I´m happy to recommend places for you! I love meeting new people and sharing life experiences and I am very gay friendly. If I had to chose a motto in life it would be: Ask, believe, receive.
