Interaction with Guests
I'll be around the house for any questions or assistence and in the apartment you'll find a map with information on the area (things to do, things for childeren, shops, tips for nightlife, bars, restaurants, rental bikes, et cetera).
The neighbourhood Oud West is very laid back. There are heaps of nice shops and the best coffee shop in town is just around the block (Harvest and Company).
There are lots and lots of nice restaurants and bars in the neighbourhood and your host Jessie, who had a restaurant for years, will be very happy to give you advice or directions. If you prefer to stay in, the supermarket is almost next door and open till 22pm (Sundays 10am-20pm). There are several organic shops in the area, as well as designershops, a toy store, bookshops, a beertasting bar, an enormous travelbook store and a lot more that will capture your interest.
Across the street you can rent bikes, carrier bikes and scooters at Mac Bike. And very conveniently, the public transport stop is right on the doorstep of Museum Suite.
Public transport is easy in Amsterdam: there are tram stops all around you wich makes the city easy accessible. The airport is only a short train ride away.
Other Things to Note
Location: you'll find this renovated 60 m2 apartment in a typical Amsterdam building. The Museum Quarter of Amsterdam (The Van Goghmuseum, the recently re-opened Museum for Modern Art (Stedelijk Museum), and the Rijksmuseum) can be reached within 10 minutes walk.
The Leidse Square area, famous for its bars and cafes, the city theatre (Stadsschouwburg), cinemas, heaps of restaurants and nightlife is only a 5-minute stroll from the apartment. From the Leidse Square the Leidse Street takes you to all the big brand shops. The apartment is in a relaxed and quiet area, so it's a great place to escape the crowds. It's very easy to reach the apartment, and it's within walking (and cycling) distance to the heart of the city.
The Museum Suite is a non smoking apartment, although you are allowed to smoke outside on the balcony.
The apartment is not suitable for parties, no loud music and no invites without my consent. I am looking for considerate guests. Please consider the neighbours. Minimum stay of 7 nights.
Jess had been such a good host that we have to come back after our Antwerp Trip. We would never been able to find a lovely cozy place like her place. Being mins away from Vondelpark has been great for the kids as we could just bike at leisure and enjoy the great weather at the park.
At Overtoom we are so spoilt with great coffee and eateries within reach. Jesse also has compiled a very helpful mini guide which we made a copy that we keep in our bag for reference. Thanks Jesse for the great time and we welcome you and your family in Beijing someday!
The host canceled this reservation 69 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Jesse was at the door to greet us when we arrived at her place. We felt like we have known her for ages. This is our very first airbnb booking and she had been very helpful, guiding us through every step. She answered all our queries before a booking was made And made our stay a breeze. Her place was cozy and warm and made our girls felt at home immediately. The place is clean and we have everything we need and it is exactly how it looked in the listing. Jesse is super orang used so she make sure you have everything you need at her apartment. The fresh flowers and welcoming fruits was a delight! The location of the unit was close to everything we need. Albert Hejin, the supermarket just downstairs, the Tram no. 1 is right in front of the unit, everything is within easy accessible. We will surely come back to this apartment if we do come back to this city again. Thanks to Jesse for everything!
We had a lovely stay in Jess' apartment. She had organised everything for us and was very communicative and helpful before and during our stay. The apartment was very clean and fitted the online description perfectly. The location in Amsterdam was great for us, and we enjoyed the local area a lot. Jess also had lots of helpful information in the apartment about local attractions and could answer any questions we had straight away. I would highly recommend this apartment.
What a wonderful welcome from Jessie, gorgeous flowers and a bowl of fruit, maps and info, even helping us bring our heavy suitcases up the stairs. The apartment is exactly as pictured, spacious and bright, quiet and comfortable, very well located. Jessie reached out to ask how things were going along the way, made us feel completely at home. We especially enjoyed the Vondelpark as my husband likes jogging. The tram stop right outside, and the grocery store right next door, and excellent local restaurants, made everything convenient and within reach.
About the Host, Jess
I ve had a restaurant for years, and so I love food & wine and I like to cook myself. Besides food I'm crazy about film and documentaries, specially on when the subject food ;-). I simply love to go to the cinema, but I go to the theatre as well.
I've been traveling throughout Europe, (France, Spain, Italy, England, Ireland) but also South Africa, Australia, Thailand, Indonesia et cetera. My wish is to visit South America. And to explore Mongolia, seems a fascinating and pristine country to me.
I sincerely want to make your stay as pleasant as possible, so please let me know what you need. Ofcourse I also want to give you your privacy, so if you don't call me I won't be bothering you.
