1 block to the Metro, 1 to the parking garage, 3 to the Train, 20 min. from Barcelona!
Enjoy a tourist-free beach community next to Barcelona with markets, shops, restaurants and bars all within walking distance. Modern flat with great sea views!
This is a fully renovated northern European style flat with custom furniture in the heart of a small town virtually connected to Barcelona by train and metro, a stone's throw away from the flat.
Only 20 minutes from the Sagrada Familia and downtown Barcelona, this is one of the tallest buildings on one of the main street in neighboring downtown Badalona and offers a beautiful view of the coast and the beach, only 4 blocks away.
Fully renovated by a northern European architect in 2010, this 50 meter (538 square foot) bright, sunny apartment flat has custom wood furniture and windows everywhere, a well equipped stainless steel kitchen/living space, a spacious bedroom for two with a classic wooden Japanese futon bed, separate shower and toilet and a small walk-in closet.
The living space has a sofa that converts to a bed for one person or two children. The best part is that the flat boasts a 54 square meter (581 square foot) terrace with a table for four and a spacious sofa that seats up to 8 with a wood and slate awning that creates the perfect chillout area. This is a homey, romantic place for a couple alone or with a child or two.
Wifi, full kitchen, rice cooker, washing machine, elevator.
This flat is dead center in Badalona, the new metro station is right at the crossroads of Av. Marti Pujol and Via Augusta, a block from the flat, where you can take the metro to Barcelona, arriving at Sagrada Familia in 20 minutes or Plaça Catalunya in 25-30 minutes. Walking towards the beach is the Badalona train station and it takes about 20 minutes to Arc de Triomf and Plaça Catalunya (both train and metro accept the same kind of tickets). Right next to the metro is a new, high security automobile parking garage. There's a taxi stand two short blocks up around the corner from the flat, in case you want to ride into Barcelona for about 20€.
But Badalona is a nice place to see as well! The best is the very long stretch of sandy beach that runs along the town and is where families and couples stroll up and down and have something to drink or eat at the many outdoor cafés and restaurants all along the area. (I can recommend a couple of good spots to eat!) Apart from the Museum with the vestiges of Roman village Betulo, there's the famous Anis del Mono (logo designed by Picasso!) factory on the beach, heralding Badalona's recent industrial past and still manufacturing the renown anisette, whose aroma gently wafts through the area near the factory. There's a huge new shopping mall about 15 minutes walking, I've only been there once or twice. Badalona is also known for being the European Basketball Capital, with the Juventud team playing regularly at the pavilion near the shopping mall. About 20 minutes northeast is an old industrial section that's packed with trendy night spots, ask if you really want to go there. There are virtually no tourists in Badalona, the town has a far-away "up the coast" feel even though it's so close to Barcelona, and Badalona is safe as milk.

Interaction with Guests
I drop off the keys, talk and answer questions for about 15 minutes and the place is yours! I am available by mail, text, and telephone.
It's a real local feel, a real neighborhood, all the shops (H+M, Zara, Desigual) as well as bakeries, banks, fresh fish, vegetable markets, supermarkets and late-night convenience stores are within walking distance as well as transit, either metro, bus, train and taxi stands and of course the beach is 3 blocks away.
Metro a block away, train station 3 blocks away, bus stop in front of the flat. Paid high security parking 50 meters from the flat, free outdoor parking 4 blocks away near the beach.
Other Things to Note
The flat buzzer says "Atic 3º", when you get in the elevator, press the "A" button.
This is not some flat that I bought and threw together a few Ikea things, it's my home and everything except that every piece of furniture is hand made to order-
I expect people to be respectful of my place and courteous with the neighbors. I'd prefer if you didn't smoke in there, on the terrace is ok. My neighbors are mostly in their 70's and 80's so it'll be quiet as a mouse up there, I'd expect my guests to not make a lot of racket either. I guess common sense dictates behavior; I'd like my guests treat my home as it it were theirs, as long as they treat their home with the same love I treat mine!

Hey Kinda! Thanks for the good review! yeah, I have an independent 300 litter water tank just for the bathroom so the water is always on strong and hot if you need it, I have to get new pictures! yes, cars a a headache in Badalona, unless you park down by the beach, it's free down there. It was great having you , best of luck and come back whenever you like!
In one word great! The view is much better than you'd expect after seeing the photo's. You can see the sea, it's just 500 meters away. You have a lot of privacy on the terrace, but above all: a lot of space. It's very quiet at night, during (working) days, the school below makes it a bit noisier, but that didn't bother us at all.
Henri gave a nice tour through the house, and told a lot about the neighbourhood. In spite of the time we arrived (1.00 am!).
Only small negative point were the beds. The matrasses were very hard.
When the matrasses are replaced, you've found a really small paradise here! Absolutely recommended!
Hey! I wrote an inaccurate review of your stay- my cleaning lady exaggerated. If you guys took out the garbage, washed the dishes and swept up, that's inconsistent with what my cleaning lady said. If I could take down my review I would, but the system admin says I can't. Sorry for the inaccurate review and I will make it up to you next time! And I'm getting new mattresses, absolutely.
Henri was very kind and helpful. His apartment is charming and looks like pictures posted. The neighborhood is nice with lots of cafés, bakeries, and restaurants all in walking distance. I would recommend this host!
Henri, the location and the apartment were amazing. Henri met me upon arrival and provided me with a thorough overview of the apartment and a short tour of the neighborhood. It was nice to have a warm welcome after traveling.
The apartment was very clean and comfortable. I spent most of my time on the deck which looks exactly like the photos. It was also nice to have the washer on-site as I was there for a week.
Badalona was exactly what I was looking for. A few blocks from the beach, not a tourist in sight and only 30 minutes by train to city center.
Overall a great experience and I hope to return!
Henri is friendly in the real sense of the word: we felt very warmly welcomed like staying in the apartment of a good friend. From the first contact and throughout our stay, he was very communicative and truly caring. And when he presented his beautiful apartment to us, we got the impression of a really cool and genuine guy with a positive aura and good sense humor.
The apartment is exactly as Henri described it, but much bigger than it appears on the photos. From the huge, spacious terrace we enjoyed the great panoramic view over the city center and down to the horizon beyond the sea. Large windows to the east provided us a spectacular sunrise event within the flat every morning; which was even better (imagine: better than spectacular!) when stepping out onto the terrace. The apartment and terrace were so well equipped that we could tell someone had actually been living there and it is not just quickly put together for tourists. Notably, the kitchen was excellent too - very well setup with almost nothing that we were missing.
As Henri described, the apartment is located absolutely central within Badalona as well as to the connections to Barcelona. Everything from metro, train, bakeries, supermarkets, and shopping centers, to the beach and boardwalk are easy to find and within an amazingly short walking distance. But since it is on one of the main streets, the neighborhood is not as idyllic as it might seem for such a "small" city: school and kindergarten across the street and a frequented bus stop right in front of the door created a relatively (depending on what you're used to) noisy atmosphere during the day. Though in comparison to the center of Barcelona it's still quite cozy - especially at nights and on the weekend when it was very quiet and peaceful. We slept very well on the relatively hard futon bed - woken every morning with the sunrise.
All in all, we had a great week staying in Henri's apartment, and meeting Henri - our easy-going, cheerful and open-minded host - was a pleasure. We really appreciate this place and are looking forward to staying here again!
Thanks for the honest review. I appreciate it. Yeah, I have often thought about a little shelving next to both sides of the bed, just a little piece of wood enough for books and a little lamp. I'm working on that. I just have to figure out exactly what to put that does't get in the way of the drawers under the futon. Screen window is an option, but we have a phone app that keeps the mosquitos away hahaha, no, really. Scissors are around, unless someone else put them in an odd place. Thanks for the good review. We'll take it into consideration for next time! We're moving in next until September! :) Say hi to Pia. Best regards,
Oh my! This is the nicest review I have ever received. Here's what it says:
It was a beautiful , albeit short time for us in Barcelona! The Apartment in Badalona has done much that we four are the same felt at home : a fully equipped kitchen where we fresh fish from the market hall around the corner prepared , a table on the terrace where we enjoyed the sun's first rays at breakfast a cozy couch under a sun roof, where we let the evening end of the day , when the children were asleep and two separate washrooms that . the morning for four simplified Barcelona is around the corner with U or S-Bahn. But before and after that there are kilometer-long beach , nice Beiseln , as we say Vienna , no tourists and also some interesting architectural hotspots. We are grateful to Henri that he has entrusted to us his apartment for his friendly reception, its helpful tips , its naturalness and its simplicity . We will come back , Hans , Adele, Moses and Wenzel
