1 room (about 175 square feet) available within a 2-bedroom apartment (about 650 square feet).
I live in the second bedroom (not photographed) and will be sharing the space with you.
Great location on the 4th floor (3rd floor European) in a pre-war elevator building across from Central Park. A 90-second walk to the express subway (2/3) down the street, which is a 10-minute ride to midtown (42nd street Times Square). Also a 6-minute walk to the 6 train for access to the East Side.
Very comfortable double bed (regular bed), with a goose down featherbed (from W Hotels) above a firm mattress. I also have a comfortable option for more guests - I have a 2-person, double height air mattress that can be put in the same bedroom if you'd like. (The site wouldn't let me designate one real bed and one air bed in the multiple choice listings.) I have a second feather bed (also W Hotel) for the air bed. Sleeping on even the air mattress feels like you're suspended on a cloud!
Share of kitchen, living room and bathroom (with me in a separate bedroom).
There are locks on the bedroom and bathroom doors.
Great views from the living room of Central Park.
Please note that I am not charging a cleaning fee, so thank you for being considerate and tidying up after yourselves.
There is free street parking available in front of the apartment. Occasionally there are no spots, and you may have to park a block or two away. Worst case scenario, there is a covered, private garage a block and a half away for $20 / night.
Vending-operated laundry machines (washer/dryer) available in basement.
And for those with allergies: I do not have any cats, dogs, or any other pet animals.
Merci à Jonathan d'avoir été la pour nous recevoir ainsi que nous conseiller sur les visites a faire sur NYC.
Adresse a recommander et surtout bien situé
My mum and I stayed at Jonathan´s place for 10 days. The apartment was easy to find and exactly as described, clean, pretty and with a nice view. Everything needed was available. Jonathan was very kind and we didnt see him that often. The area was save and there were a lot of small supermarkets around. Short walk to the red line subway, little longer walk to the dark-green one meaning that there always was a good connection. We really enjoyed our time there!
It was wonderful to stay with Jonathon he was really friendly and made us feel welcome. Having such a lovely comfortable bed to sleep in after flying into New York from Australia was great. Jonathon opened his home to us explaining where everything was kept. There is a laundry in the basement . You need to buy a card for this, Jonathon has laundry powder you can use. Jonathon also provides towels, shampoo and conditioner. His home is right opposite Central Park on the northern end on the edge of Harlem. We felt safe at all times The subway is one minute walk from the apartment if you are going to do some travelling around it is probably the best to buy the 7 day pass but you can get a 10 trip pass which what my husband and I did you can share this. The subway is safe we had no concerns at all. We arrived in New York at 10pm and caught a taxi to Jonathons home which cost us $90, if you have luggage this is the best way to get there otherwise you will need to get the subway and change trains 3 times. The time of night we arrived did dictate our choice of transport.
Kim, I hope you and your husband are enjoying the rest of your travels! Thank you for the kind words. Alas, Newark airport is the farthest of the NYC-area airports from Manhattan, and as it's in another state (across the river in New Jersey), the taxi trip from that airport is rather expensive. For those reading this and considering a trip to New York, if you have a choice, the other airports are considerably cheaper if arriving via taxi.
Absolument fabuleux !!!
I liked our stay at Jonathan's place. Jonathan was very friendly and gave very clear instructions. Nice location, everything we needed was available. 220V - 110V adapter was a very valuable thing to have. I liked the living room with all the light and sun and pretty view on Central Park.
Jonathan was vary nice, we loved his apartment it was big bright and it was very comfortable to reach every place you like to see with the subway just around the corner.
Jonathan was very nice, and very busy - and so was I, So we didn't see much of each other. The flat is nice, very convenient if one does not mind having to ride the subway to get anywhere. The view to the park is great: It does not feel like being in Manahttan, but rather like some quiet, peacefull town.
Jonathan takes very good care of his guests, the place is clean, the bed comfortable, sheets and towels like in a hotel...
All in all, a positive experience.
My best friend and I stayed 8 days at Jonathan's apartment - we had the best time there. The apartment was super clean and comfy, Jonathan was really helpful and friendly. We we're able to use the kitchen - his coffee maker makes great coffee ;)!We can definitely recommend staying at his place. No problems at all. Thank you Jonathan!
My daughter and I had a great couple of days in New York staying with Jonathon. His apartment was clean, warm and comfortable. It was such a great location close to the subway with wonderful views of Central Park. Jonathon let us us store food in his fridge and use his kitchen. We needed to find accomodation in New York at late notice while in Australia. Jonathon was very prompt in replying to our emails and very welcoming. He was a great host and is highly recommended.
Jonathan was a great host, extremely helpful, accommodating and always responded to emails/ text messages immediately. His apartment was very clean, neat and only a few minutes away from the subway station. We definitely enjoyed our stay at his and had a great time in NYC.
