  • The apartment is really nice and convenience. There are few 24/7 convenient store and very cheap super market beside.
Definitely worth and comfort than 5 star hotel lol
Would love to stay the same place for next stay in Tokyo

  • I really love the stay I had at Hide & Kei's apartment. It's uniquely Japanese lifestyle that gave me real Japan experience. The apartment has everything I need - especially the mobile portable wifi router which I used it at home and on the go. Very clean, and just feel like home. And it's actually very close to train station - either Nerima Station, or Sakudai Station. Nerima station would be a better choice since it is inter-change station for a few train lines which gives me a better choice for my destination. With the trains it's in fact very accessible and easy to go to Ikebukuro, and Shinjuku (especially if you like shopping or vibrant night life). And the best is, Hide & Kei gave me very clear map and instructions on how to go to the apartment in English. It's very helpful!

  • This place is fantastic. The bed is comfortable, the apartment itself is clean and quaint and comes with every amenity you can think of. Close to a grocery store and easy enough to get to transit. Not as close to shinjuku or shibuya as we thought but a great place none the less. Highly recommend it and there's a great little surprise at the end of the stay!

  • I really enjoyed my stay at this apartment. The hosts provided very detailed information which made everything go smoothly, and the apartment was perfectly clean with everything in good condition. As a real bonus, the host's mother brought fresh fruit and bread to the door!

I would recommend this place to anyone - it might be a little cramped for two people but for one person it's perfect. I definitely hope to stay here again next time I'm in Tokyo.

    Thank you!

  • The hosts were very hospitable. Everything ran smoothly, and the neighbourhood is nice and quiet.

There are a few nice food places along the way to Sakuradai station, the most interesting served Horse Sashimi (straight down the street out of Sakuradai station, passing Macdonalds and putting the station behind you and heading north, two and a half blocks forward and it's on the left).

  • We really enjoyed having our own little place to stay in in Tokyo. It was cool to stay in a "real Japanese apartment" and we quite enjoyed wandering around the neighbourhood. It's a close walk to the train station and well located overall.

The apartment is tiny but we managed fairly well with two people. Small details like the welcome strawberries, chocolate and tea were much appreciated :). We also enjoyed watching TV - all channels are very entertaining, even when you have no idea what anything is about.

NOTE: If you're visiting in winter, the AC is also a heater! You will absolutely freeze without it.

  • This apartment is a jewel!

Finding it really isn't that difficult. Hide & Kei provided us with an incredibly detailed set of documents (from train schedules, bus rides, respective fares, train routes, etc.), and a list of landmarks to let you know you're headed in the right direction.

If still in doubt, there's a little police station down the road from the Sakuradai train station where you could ask for directions.

I'm finding it difficult to express how my wife and I felt about the place as it became very personal to us. It was our home away from home. Every time we came back from a long trip, we yearned for the quiet of our little apartment, in our quaint yet charming neighborhood.

The place was impeccably clean, with a slight scent of mint. Slippers, towels, bedsheets, pillows, toiletries, cleaning products, and detergent are all provided for, and the a/c unit works perfectly (whether you need to heat up or cool down). We were even welcomed with complementary snacks and a big bottle of water.

And while the internet in the apartment wasn't working at that time, Hide & Kei promptly lent us their mobile wi-fi (which was a godsend). We would probably have gotten lost & been misunderstood more often had it not been for that little gadget. It was even instrumental in helping us retrieve my wife's iPhone which we accidentally left at a train station in Yokohama!

As for food, you'll find many options in the area. There's a 7-11 nearby, several bars and many delicious restaurants with their own specialties can be found on the main road. Most don't speak English but menus often have pictures of each item, and, with a little effort, you can always make yourself understood. There's also a good-sized grocery near the train station. If you're raring for a quick meal, there's a lady down the road from the apartment who makes homemade gyoza and yakisoba (must do!).

We highly recommend setting base here, especially if you're planning on touring the many sights in and around Tokyo. Hide & Kei are very easy to talk to and the same goes for their mother, who was incredibly warm towards us.

Thank you for making us feel at home, Hide & Kei.

    It was an unforgettable experience.

  • This apartment was very clean, fully furnished and came with all the basic needs. Its in a very quiet area and It is just nice for 2 people. The host's mother and father were very helpful and obliging.
When the gas stove was not working, she went and bought for us new batteries immediately. We were given new bedsheets to change after 10 days and even some persimmons which is in season now.
The only set back was that it is a bit far from the railway station for me...but overall, I think its one of the best apartments for short term stay. Highly recommendable.
    Thanks very much.

  • The appartment is situated in a nice and quiet area of Tokyo and is easily to reach by underground. Nerima station is the nearest station and then it is a 10 minutes walk. The appartment is clean and comfortable and supplies everything you need for a few days stay. Two good and comfortable beds, a complete bathroom, a kitchen etc.
Hide and Kei are very willing to help, and there parents who also live in the building are very nice.

The price you pay for your stay in the appartment is really worth it !!!

  • The apartment was very clean and had coffee, tea and drinks in refrigerator which was very nice after journey. The rooms were cleaner and better than depicted. It felt like I was staying in a peaceful garden because neighbors tree was right outside bedroom window. I really got a local Japanese local experience as it was near a school and active neighborhood. I looked forward to returning home after sight seeing in busy hectic Tokyo. Although Sakuradai is a bit far out, the JR line ran every few minutes back to Ikebukuro which is a major hub to Shinjiku,(JR line) and Tokyo/Ginza (Yurakocha metro line). Hide & Kei were helpful and responsive with communications. On a side note rent a mobile wifi router at Narita or downtown. it is a game changer for visiting Japan because of (website hidden) map function and complexity/difficulty finding addresses. I highly recommend this apartment- thanks Hide & Kei!
