The Space

Welcome to Adelaide!

About Us & The Room:

We're two lovely folks both named Kate (Seb moved out, to run away and be an actor & Elvira moved to larger digs with her man-friend!) with a cosy spare room for you and two cats, one little grey lady named Roo who loves belly rubs and the more ample tortoiseshell, Eliza who is mildly disdainful of affection. We're relaxed & friendly & love for our visitors to feel at home. The room includes a queen size bed, wardrobe, comfy chair, a proper door (this is a new development since some of our early reviews, no more glass door!) & ceiling fan! There is also a projector in the living which you're welcome to use during your stay. We have a fab kitchen with a gas stove, ample living room/mini cinema space, a cosy outdoor space, a veggie garden & a shower with really good water pressure. We also have wireless internet available.
Fresh towels and linen provided.

Just a warning the we don't have a TV or microwave these days, we're simplifying! You're welcome to bring your own laptop to watch programs over the internet/on the projector though.

About the Area:

We're stone's throw (you could literally throw a stone from the balcony and have it land on the tram stop!) away from a tram stop to head into the Adelaide CBD but it's also a short (20 minute) walk/bike, head in the other direction and you hit the popular Glenelg Beach. We love to keep up with awesome'ness happening in Adelaide so can fill you in.

Give us a holla!

Interaction with Guests

We're often pretty busy but love to get a chance to catch up with folks who are staying if possible!

Getting around

A taxi from the airport is about $25, you can also take a bus & then the tram (there's only one in Adelaide), it takes about 45 minutes during the week, longer in the late evening & weekends.

  • Kate's place was great! She was very welcoming and helpful, the house and the room were both really comfortable, and the cats were awesome!

  • Lovely room and lovely location and lovely host. Great amenities and the cats were super fun too. Thanks!

  • I had a great time staying here. Although one of the hosts was away, the other Kate was lovely and welcoming, and the cats are even more adorable than described (sweet little Roo will take as many belly rubs as you can provide). The room was ample in size and everything was very homey. The shower felt great – plenty of hot water and good pressure. I didn't really use the kitchen or hang out there much because my plans had me out most of the time, but the place was perfectly situated for me. There's a tram line right there and lots of lovely cafes and shops about 5–10 minutes' walk away.

  • Staying at Kate's was just as expected. The room was very comfortable and clean and Kate is super friendly and helpful! It was perfectly situated next to the tram as well. It was a great deal and very comfortable!

  • We had a great stay with the Kates and their cats. They all made us feel welcome and at home. Their place is very conveniently located. Walking distance to the Adelaide central market and plenty of interesting things in their own neighborhood.

We've stayed in Adelaide a few times at various guesthouses and hostels, this was by far our best experience.

  • Kate went over and above to help me out. Her house is very homely, and her flatmates lovely. For me it was a perfect location, walkable to the Showgrounds where I was working for the weekend. Recommend the Sunday farmers market - best in Australia!

  • I had a fantastic time staying with Kate (squared), Eliza, and Roo. It was my first Airbnb experience and they set the bar high. Great location, adorable house and wonderful people. I was there for OZ Comicon and the showgrounds were a 10 min walk away as well as a 2 min walk to the tram stop. Seriously great place to stay and extremely nice roomies for however long you'll be there. Highly recommend. :)

  • Good location for exploring around Adelaide, you can walk into the CBD in no time. Nice sized room with comfortable bed. Good place to stay if you just want to be left to do your own thing. Kate had some helpful knowledge of the local area and how to get about. Note: wouldn't recommend staying if you don't like cats as there are 2 house cats that like attention.

  • Comfy room in a cool house. Ridiculously close to the tram line and within walking distance (about 20min) to the city. Kate was super lovely, even though we only really saw her for a couple of brief moments during our stay.
And it's true - the shower has really great pressure - win!
Would stay there again if we were to be in Adelaide.

  • This room was just perfect! It really helped me feel at home for the 5 weeks I was living in Adelaide, and Kate and her lovely cat Roo (as well as Elvira, Sidney, Kate and Eliza) were the best hosts. The house was cosy, comfy and perfectly located - exactly what I needed. Thanks to Kate and everyone, you were fabulous!
