About this listing
This is a 2 bed apartment with just one room for rent with your own bathroom. You'll have full access to the kitchen, living & balcony. I'm listed as weekend only but I am open to considering longer stays. Situated 10 minutes from the city centre & about the same distance to the National Convention Centre.
The original 1930s entryway was also preserved when the building was converted to modern apartments.
This is a modern, two bed apartment in a converted 1930's cinema. There is one double room to rent. The apartment is 12 mins walk from main train station and Dublin bikes, 15 mins walk to Northside city centre. Full use of apartment & kitchen (it's above a grocery store with a Post Office & off-license). Includes wi-fi but no TV.
The only good pub in the area is almost next-door - Cusacks and we are blessed with one of Dublin's finest Italian pizzerias too (next-door) which sometimes has freshly made pasta and they make their own bread too (good for making sambos to take on a day trip).
Walks along coast road 15 minutes away towards Bull Island (for kite surfing etc). A day trip to the charming fishing village of Howth is only 25 minutes away on the Dart (Dublin Area rapid Transit). Loads of great restaurants out there and lovely hill walks.
This Northside apartment is only 12 minutes walk to the Luas (tram) which can take you to Cineworld or better still the Lighthouse Cinema in Smithfield. It will also take you to the Phoenix Park - Europe's largest city-enclosed park of over 1,000 acres with wild deer, cycle and jogging ways, the zoo and Aras an Uachtarain, the official residence of the President of Ireland.
It is about a 20 minute walk across the river Liffey to the Southside city centre (5-10 in a bus) where the most fashionable shops are and some of Dublin's most imposing Georgian architecture including the National Gallery.
I'll provide you with a full list of places to eat from cheap and cheerful to posh nosh & I strongly recommend you book a restaurant in advance of your arrival. You won't get a table even a half-decent restaurant in Dublin on a Friday or Saturday night if you don't book in advance!
Interaction with Guests
I'm usually around to help out and give you guidance but if not I'll give you my mobile and there will be somebody else to let you in and welcome you.
Every bus that passes on North Strand goes directly into either the Northside of the City or crosses the Liffey to the Southside. It would be a good idea to check out Dublin Bikes as they are the simplest & cheapest way of getting around the city.
This is a non-smoking apartment.
I will need a €30 deposit on the keys to the apartment which will be returned once I get the keys back (they are expensive to replace if lost).
This is my home so please try and keep it the way you found it: 'clean as you go' is a good practice and there's even a dishwasher to save your hands!
You're welcome to enjoy my books but please watch out for sticky fingers and use a book mark instead of turning pages down.
You're welcome to harvest from the raised bed if things are in season. A leaf or two from each head is usually enough to make a generous side salad for two (regular harvesting stops them bolting, so you are doing me a favour! ).
From Sep 1 - Nov 30, 2015 the minimum stay is 2 nights.
