Our son has moved away to college and has given us his permission (lol) to rent out his room so that he can help offset his college expenses. What a hoot!

Lilla's hospitality was top notch, I felt a warm and welcoming kindred spirit in their beautiful home. The USA room was clean, bright, spacious and comfy. A full bathroom was right outside the bedroom door and the kitchen privileges made my busy week less hectic.
It was such a pleasure to get to know both Lilla and John, and although we all juggled what we do, when our paths did cross, it was lighthearted and engaging. I spent the week with a fun loving group of artists at Jeanne Bassett's Retreat (doing what you love isn't work!) just 5 minutes away, Lilla's spirited personality made it complete! My next visit, Lilla and I will work our schedules around the First Friday Gallery Walk featured in downtown Raleigh, can't wait! Thank you Lilla, you fun and inviting host!
Lilla and Jon waited up for us until our arrival at 10 pm. We were tired from long driving and Lilla seemed to sense that and didn't trouble us with anything else more than a brief intro of our room, bathroom and amenities. We woke up the next day to a huge kitchen and a spectacular view of the lake and nature from the dining room. Lilla was very welcoming and Crash, her pup, was adorable. She made us coffee and showed us to all the treats. We had a very fruitful morning conversation about travel and experience before we had to make ourselves to leave. Her house is anyone's dream home, and my wife loved it. Lilla took her role as a hostess very seriously. You can expect near perfect hospitality from your stay. We highly recommend Lilla and she is officially the only listing we will consider on our next trip to Raleigh.
Description of the place was accurate. I love the hospitality of Lilla and her family. I pretty much felt very welcome coming into their house. She is highly responsive, very helpful, and super friendly. About the room, It was pretty clean and will give you a feeling that you are a guest of a relative. And OMG the bed was so heavenly. I don't usually sleep good during travelling but I slept straight 8 hrs straight on this one. I am glad I chose their place to stay for that night.
Lilla Von and Jon are so helpful, kind and friendly, by far the best host I ever met. I felt so much like home, I didn't want to leave. Since I was looking for an apartment to stay, Lilla Von and Jon were driving me around and showing me all the best neighborhood; and helping me shop for furniture. The kindness was so much than I ever hope, wow I had an amazing time. The food was always delicious. There's more, but 500 words won't be enough though. The room/home and neighborhood are serene and pleasant. There are many beautiful houses in the area that I saw while I jogged. Oh Crush, I miss you buddy.
This was my first ever Airbnb experience and it is with pleasure to say that it was a truly lovely one. Lilla and John's home is exceptional and they are very welcoming people. I came to North Carolina for a medical school interview from NYC and I couldn't have picked a better place to stay. The neighborhood was pleasant and the house is situated by a pond. If I had more time I definitely would have enjoyed more of the amenities that came with the deal like the community pool, golf course, tennis. I stayed in the USA room and it was HUGE. Definitely a lot bigger than I anticipated. The bathroom was right next door and it was clean with a selection of hair and body products, hair dryer, and plenty of towels. Even a bath robe!
I woke up very early for my interview, around 5 am, but when I came down for breakfast around 5:45 John left a full pot of coffee for me and my boyfriend and Lilla prepared fresh fruit for us to eat. She also had to-go cups for us if we were in a rush.
Overall, my experience was very nice and I am glad I chose to stay here as opposed to a hotel/motel.
Our overall experience with Lilla, her family and her house coudn't have been better. Lilla was welcoming us with not only one of the nicest rooms (we were staying in the authentic USA room) but also with an original american breakfast every morning. We had our own bathroom and we were able to take advantage of the community pool. It was just like staying in a hotel but with a familiar touch.
The neighborhood was absolutely stunning. Her house is located near a beautiful pond and if you get lucky you might see a deer.
We'll remember Lilla as a warm and welcoming person and whenever we go back to Raleigh, we'll make sure to stay with her again.
This was my first experience with Air BNB and I'm spoiled for ever. John and Lilla welcomed me like a relative. Attention to every detail was evident from check in to check out. I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast that Lilla served and recommend her home when you come to the Raleigh area. Very nice neighborhood too.

I work as a research recruiter and am a giving and a gracious hostess through Airbnb. My home is kept clean and peaceful. I joined Airbnb to meet interesting people and share conversation and or activities as much or as little as they desire while making extra money for my son's college expenses. I love dogs, flavorful food, gardening, tennis, volleyball, billiards, beaches and cruising. I enjoy being outdoors mostly. I also occasionally enjoy movies but not at the cinema because I would prefer to curl up in a blanket while watching the movie. By request, I will work hard to provide the best information, insider tips and recommendations, to ensure you have a great stay here in Raleigh.
