The Space

A charming 650 sq ft 1 bedroom + 1 full bath apartment centrally located in Northwest Washington in a quiet neighborhood at the intersection of Woodley Park, Adams Morgan, and Dupont Circle. The perfect rental for one person, a couple, or a group of friends who wants to experience DC, but come back to a relaxing apartment that reminds them of a little bit of home.

This first floor corner unit has full windows that wrap around the apartment on two sides overlooking tree-lined streets. Neighbors are quiet professionals. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking ware, dishes, wine glasses, etc. and a full-size stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, crock pot, and microwave.

Plus, HD cable TV, Apple TV (Netflix), and wireless high-speed internet.

The queen bed has a memory foam mattress pad for an extra comfortable night's sleep. Traveling for work? Use the commercial-size clothes steamer to make sure you're looking your best. Coin-operated washers and dryers are one level down in the basement of the building. For extra sleeping space, the L-shaped living room couch pulls out into a full-size bed. Fresh linens, pillows, and comforter provided.

Lastly, the top of the building is adorned by a roof deck that hosts some of the best views of the city and Rock Creek Park. It can be reserved for private use with no extra charge, but I often find myself up there after work with a glass of wine.

There's an extremely friendly cat, Poe, who inhabits the apartment, but she may not be in the apartment during your stay (I'll confirm at the time of reservation). My friends and family joke that she's the most dog-like cat they've ever met. She's shaved year round which means there is little to virtually no shedding at all. She'll most likely greet you at the door or want to snuggle on the couch, so you'll be most comfortable if you like animals.

EXCITING NEWS! The kitchen has been completely remodeled and updated with all new appliances!

Interaction with Guests

I always try to be present during check-in/out, but if that's not possible, my boyfriend or a close friend helps out. I think meeting face-to-face is important, and it gives guests an opportunity to ask any last minute questions.

I am available via phone or text message throughout the reservation.

The Neighborhood

Numerous restaurants, bars, and cafes are less than 3 blocks away, or it's only a 15-minute walk to Mount Pleasant (north) and Dupont Circle (south), two more great neighborhoods for dinner and drinks with coworkers or friends.

Like to run? Head out the back door of the building to several running paths through Rock Creek Park and the National Zoo.

Getting around

Only 4 blocks from the Woodley Park/National Zoo/Adams Morgan metro line (red) and 2 blocks from 4 bus stops (42/43, L2, H1, 90s buses, and Circulator) that will take you all over the city. Also located blocks away from the Omni Shoreham and Marriott hotels.

Street parking is available (free and without penalties on nights, some weekend days, and holidays). And there are several garages nearby if you're not registered in D.C (I marked them on the guidebook).

Check In
  • Lindsey's Washington DC apartment made for a perfect weekend. The apartment was charming and had everything we needed. the neighborhood is beautiful and safe. We slept on bed and pull out couch - both very comfortable. Lindsey was very flexible and easy to work with. We used all variations of public transport - bus, metro and taxi - all easily accessible from the apartment. A great value.

  • This was one of the best places in DC that I ever came across: lovely, sunny and comfortable. I stayed with two friends (two in bedroom, one on sofa in living room) what worked well, and in terms of location of us attendingattended a conference on the Shoreham Hotel was perfect: just across the bridge and 7 minutes away while at the same time also close to nice cafes and bars.
Lindsey was a great host: VERY flexible with check-in time, easy to communicate with, and super friendly. And we loved Po - the sweet cat living in the apartment.
I would anyone to stay here - a great place

  • Lindsey's place was awesome! Exactly as advertised, very cozy, and super close to great food and bars. The metro was extremely close, which is convenient for whatever brings you to DC. I've been to DC many times for both professional and personal reasons, and this was by far my favourite place at which I've stayed. Adams Morgan is a great neighborhood, and the apartment was awesome.

Lindsey was a great host, too! She was very friendly, and accommodated my crazy travel schedule. I felt welcome from check-in to check-out.

So, to summarize, the apartment was amazing, my stay was awesome, Lindsey was great. I will without a doubt be contacting her next time a I need a place to stay in DC!

  • Lindsey's place provides a great relief from staying in hotels. Her apartment is lovely, cozy, light-filled, and with all the little touches that a friend would provide for you. It's in a great neighborhood in DC, within walking distance to pretty much everything you need and near both transit and bikeshare.

Lindsey is incredibly thoughtful and made sure I had everything I needed for my stay. She met me upon arrival and departure and was available anytime between to answer questions.

I'd definitely stay with Lindsey the next time I'm in DC.

  • My wife and I stayed at Lindsey's over Christmas. We were looking for a specific area of DC and Lindsey's fit the bill - walking distance of Woodley Park and of Adams Morgan. We made all our arrangements through email and unfortunately we were unable to meet Lindsey personally since travel schedules were at odds, nonetheless access and checkout went smoothly. The resident cat, Poe, was a perfect host - friendly, affectionate, and quite well behaved.

The apartment itself is a very clean and comfortable 1 bedroom apartment with living room and updated kitchen.

We would definitely rent from Lindsey again.

  • I enjoyed my stay - the apartment was sweet and clean. It is on the first floor (so not 100% private when shades are open), on a little-used, pretty street. Very comfortable bed and comfortable couch. Fabulous location! Great communication, and easy to deal with keys, etc.

  • Lindsey was a very gracious host. She made you feel very comfortable in her home as if you were a friend spending time
with her. Her apartment is light and spacious. The apartment has all the mod-cons that you would ever need. It is in a safe
neighborhood close to restaurants, grocery stores & the (Metro) subway. We especially liked the fact she was so close to Rock Creek (website hidden) was great to walk the trails to downtown D.C.
We wouldn't hesitate to return and refer our friends. Thanks
    so much Lindsey!

  • Lindsay's apartment was neat and cosy, and couldn't have been in a better location. I enjoyed the easy walk to the metro but also wandering around the local neighborhood, which was quiet and leafy. Lindsay was a great host and made herself available for check in and check out. She was really great to chat with, and left all sorts of nice touches in the apartment, like a stash of US Weekly, my guilty pleasure! The bed truly was as comfortable as everyone says it is and my stay was very relaxing. Next time I'll have to use the fantastic roof deck!

  • Lindsey's apartment was perfect for our needs. A friend and I were in the city for a conference and added a few days to the end of our stay in order to explore DC. Lindsey met us after our conference was over to hand over keys and to answer any last minute questions. She was very responsive to texts (my internet access was spotty so airbnb messages weren't a good idea) and very kind when we met her.

The apartment was small but felt spacious because of her organizational choices. The bed felt like sleeping in a cloud. In fact, because the bed was so comfortable, I stopped on the drive back home and bought a mattress topper for my bed at home. The apartment felt like home immediately and was close to U street area and a metro stop. The neighborhood was quite and nice. Parking was a bit of an issue because there are no long term spots for non-residents but each night we found a place near the apartment to park for the night. During the day we parked in lots near where we were visiting.

I wish we had looked for the rooftop deck on the first night. We went up on the second (and last) night and it was perfect. We drank some wine and watched the sunset from the roof. It was a perfect end to our mini vacation. I have nothing but positive things to say about this place and Lindsey. If/when I am in DC again, I will look her up if I need a place to stay.
