Xavier's help navigating San Fermin as well as mapping out the city made my family's vacation exceptional. We felt like we had purchased a personal guide with all of the help he gave us. He found us balcony seats and had the tickets waiting for us. He provided us with years of experience on how best to experience the festival. The cottage is beautiful and is a perfect contrast to the intensity you witness when visiting Old Pamplona during the running of the bulls. You will need to rent a car to stay at the cottage as it is a 20 minute drive from the festival, so make sure you have a designated driver. Beautiful cottage and a wonderful host.

Xavier went above and beyond during our stay. From providing all the information we needed for the running of the Bulls to helping us with luggage to the train station, Xavier did everything and more to make us feel welcome and to make sure our stay was amazing. A must stay in this area!

The house is even better than described. There is, for example, a patio with absolute privacy; nobody can see you. In the evenings we sat by the fireplace in the livingroom; firewood is included! The landscape is very lovely and it's possible to hike direct from the house. In less than 100 km you'll find mountains more than 2000 m high, a real desert (Bardenas Reales) amazingly similar to the ones in the west of USA and San Sebastian, one of the most beautiful cities in Spain. There are also a lot of monasteries that are worth visiting, all with terrific views. The owner Xavier is a very nice and well-educated person with a lot of knowledge of the whole region. Besides Spanish he also speaks fluent English and French. We arrived on Saturday and he provided us with cheese, ham, eggs, bread, wine, coffee and a lot more. He had even prepared a delicious codfish stew. Although he lives in another village a few kilometers away, you can call him anytime over the phone. We spent an evening with him in the typical pintxos (basque word for tapas) bars in Pamplona, also a very nice city, 15 km away from the house. We will definitly come back.

Xavier's cottage is in a lovely quiet spot in the country. It was a shame we only had one night there. Xavier is a great host who left us breakfast and went to the trouble of posting my sons teddy bear to us which was left by mistake. Thanks again Xavier.

What can I say? From the first response Xavier sent to me I was taken by his desire to make sure me and my family had an amazing experience in his home and country. He offered to be involved in our vacation and spend time with us if we desired. Well, it went beyond my expectations and Xavier became my travel agent! I told him my intended iteniary and since he lives in Spain and is familiar with travel distances and options he sent me suggestions, links, photos and made purchases ahead of time for me. I arranged my whole trip around his suggestions. He sent links the minute they became available, purchased balcony seats to the San Fermin Bull Run, had our family to his house for dinner, drove around with us and guided us while we're stayed in Pamplona. My son who is 20 decided to Run with the Bulls and Xavier helped us arrive early and gave my son the perfect place to stand so we could film him from our balcony. Xavier and his family had us over to dinner our first night and prepared many local foods, coffee and home made infused liquor. The Cozy Cottage is a big 4 bedroom house in a tiny village of 10 people about 15 minutes outside of Pamplona. You will need a car to drive back and forth to the city. There is a big super market 10 minutes away to purchase nessesities for the house. Xavier had asked what our family likes for breakfast so there was quite a bit of food and beverages he had purchased for our family before we arrived. We traveled Europe for 3 weeks and this was our "unplugged" part. We played cards and made many meals while we stayed in this cottage. Even after we left to Barcelona Xavier booked a seat for his daughter to sit next to us to help plan our time in Barcelona. I can not say enough about this experience we had by using Airbnb and meeting this special human being and his family! Thank you Xavier! The world and Airbnb are a better place with you in them:)

Response from Xavier:
Debi and her family have been amazing guests. Since we got in touch by email she showed a huge interest in discovering our region and local life, so it has been a great pleasure to help her. They are a very nice family and I'm proud to say that now we are friends. When they came at home for dinner they brought a bag full of gifts for my family! Thanks Debi for being so special and, please, keep in touch!

Xavier was a great host. He made me and my party feel very welcome in his home. He was very knowledgeable with the events of San Fermin. The villa was well taken care of and was very cozy. It was nice to have a place to come to away from the craziness of San Fermin. All in all I can't say enough about our stay. A great experience! Thank you Xavier.
