THE LOCAL AREA
A microcosm of London's shifting ethnic patterns, the area around Brick Lane in East London was once associated with poor slums and the scene of the crime for the Jack the Ripper murders. Whilst the notorious pub Ten Bells still stands, the area itself is now extremely popular with London’s edgy and artistic crowd, featuring galleries, restaurants, markets and festivals throughout the year.
The Old Truman Brewery at 91 Brick Lane houses a vibrant market where up-and-coming designers set up shop every Sunday selling a unique variety of clothes, handbags and jewellery. There are also vintage clothing stores and chic boutiques dotted around the area.
As a hub of London's Bangladeshi community, Brick Lane has always been famed for its many authentic curry restaurants. It now also has a reputation for its warehouse art exhibitions and trendy clubs and bars. So, before your East London experience is complete, be sure to head to the Vibe Bars beer garden or 93 Feet East (150 Brick Lane) which has become an East End institution well known for its eclectic mix of live music and intimate atmosphere.
London's oldest market, Spitalfields is now a seven-days-a-week destination. Spitalfields markets, once a Sunday-only mainstay, are open every day. Resplendent under a Fosters & Partners-designed glass canopy, Spitalfields Traders Market and shops offer cutting edge fashion and interiors, original artworks and as well as food.
Spitalfields market is surrounded by independent shops, cafes, bars and awarding winning restaurants like Canteen, Galvin La Chapell and Giraffe.
COLUMBIA STREET FLOWER MARKET
For an authentic East London experience, nothing comes close to Columbia Road market on a Sunday morning. Jam packed with the best blooms in the capital, it’s a lively and pretty noisy affair (and not for those who prefer peace and quiet on a Sunday), with salt-of-the-earth Eastender types, shouting at the top of their lungs and all trying to outdo one another's patter.
During the rest of the week you can dine and shop at the rest of the quaint little restaurants and boutiques.
THIS IS THE BEST PLACE TO BE IF YOU WANT TO EXPERIENCE LONDON AT ITS BEST!!!

The room is the same as the picture, it is clean and very confortable.
the information given by Kat are easy and clear to get to the house. It is located 5 minutes from the train shoredith and 12/15 minutes from the metro station in Liverpool. We are an Italian couple and we had a very good, even the bathroom was clean.
Thanks to Kats for allowing us to spend 4 days in London without spending a lot of money.
Marta and Lorenzo
well located and really clean house & room.
The apartment consists in four bedrooms plus a kitchen and a bathroom (actually the wc is in a separate small room). If you use airbnb to have a social interaction with someone living in the city you are visiting you will be disappointed. All the four rooms seem to accomodate guests and we have never met Kaz. This also means that the level of cleanness will largely depend on the other guests in the house. The house locations is quite comfortable, at walking distance from Shoreditch High Street or from Liverpool Street Station.
The room, kitchen, bathroom were clean and nice. I totally recommend it for stay. The location is great! On sunday there is something like flea market and it´s awesome, good bars (especially Brewdog - interesting beers etc.). Underground is approx. 10 mins by walk. Little bit noisy in the mornings - cleaner was still rustling with some bags or something like. We really enjoyed the stay and if it´s possible I will book it again.
Really nice apartment¡,.. Everything ok. Clean and wonderfull.
Good place. The apartment is close to tube station, pubs and restaurants.

Kaz was a good host, the room was clean and as advertised. Good value for money and good location.
Located very near Brick Lane with awesome bagel and vintage shops. Quite a walk to the subway but place is clean and comfy!
Room was as described. I had a nice stay. It's 15 minutes away from the Liverpool Street Subway
Nice flat, good location. Thank you.
The apartment is nice and clean, we really enjoyed our stay there. The only thing we would have preferred is proximity to the underground. Thank you for your hospitality! We might come back again.
