  • Really couldn't ask for a more ideal stay. Charming, convenient, every amenity thought of, French press, books...the list goes on. Thank you for your warm hospitality, for building this beautiful refuge and for sharing with the world.

  • Lovely, lovely house! It felt like a retreat in the midst of a fun and busy city. We stayed here for the weekend and it was even better than we expected; clean, modern, comfortable, bright, airy and relaxed. We rented bikes and rode almost everywhere during the day and then took cabs and the occasional bus at night, all very easy to do. And Dolina is awesome - she was available when we needed her but not intrusive at all. We would recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique getaway in Austin. It costs far less than you would pay for a hotel of comparable quality and was definitely a better experience.

  • Ideal! We stayed at 3 different Air bnb locations during our time in Texas, all within the same price range and this was by far the nicest! Free parking, breezy, wi-fi, nice sound system, easy driving distance to everywhere we needed to go. Dolina was so kind, great at communicating and accommodating, she gave us some great recommendations. There was delicious coffee and treats waiting for us. All of the linens were comfortable and high quality, nothing seemed to be "skimped" on, very clean. I highly recommend it and plan to stay there again next time I am in Austin.

  • Dolina and the Birdhouse are wonderful! We felt at home and Dolina left us coffee, tea, clementines, and chocolate making it EVEN better. Very cozy place and close to great food and coffee. The perfect place to stay for a trip to Austin. Highly recommend!

  • This guest house is a great find in Austin. Private, well equipped, beautifully decorated, it is perfect for a couple. The host was welcoming, friendly and more than helpful in clueing us in to some of Austin's best stuff. The location is great because it is only a 10 minute minute drive to downtown, but is on a quiet residential street. We would not hesitate to recommend this place to our friends.

  • We really enjoyed staying here. This was my first time to Austin, and I could not have asked for a better experience. The house was perfect. It is in a great part of Austin, so we felt close to good food and shopping. The house was very charming, spacious and comfortable, we both slept like babies :) Last but not least, Dolina was very sweet and helpful. I would recommend staying here to anyone who wants to enjoy a little oasis after seeing the awesome sights of austin. Thanks again Dolina!!

  • The "birdhouse" was beautiful, immaculate, comfortable, and filled with really nice quality linens, dishes, bath products, etc. Dolina was very sweet, giving us our space, and being available if we needed help with anything. She left organic chocolate, tangerines, bottled water, organic 1/2 and 1/2 and coffee, teas, etc...very thoughtful. In addition, there's a great little sitting area out front, and two blocks away there's a great gastropub for a good meal, and an amazing taco place for the best cheap eats in Austin. The accomodations were more than we expected.

My only word of caution is that the neighborhood felt a little questionable. As two women using the bus to get around, and having to walk from the bus stop, we were a little nervous coming home after dark. Otherwise, everything was fantastic.

  • Clean, modern, and cozy. Perfect for 2 people who spent most of the day and night experiencing Austin but then prefer a quiet and private place to relax and rest. Dolina, the host, was gracious to provide complimentary coffee and tea and oranges!

Best location if you enjoy being close to some of the coolest shopping and restaurants. Great shopping and eateries along South Congress and a quick drive to Torchy's, the best breakfast tacos in Austin!

  • This beautiful spot was the perfect addition to our holiday in Austin. Dolina is friendly and welcoming, and the casita was bright, clean and quiet. Just a little bit off the main South Congress strip it's a great location for those visiting Austin.
I'm looking forward to staying here again!

My husband and I spent a year traveling the world in 2008. We stayed in literally hundreds of places. Some were great and some were awful, but what the great ones all had in common was a welcoming host that helped us feel more like locals. Airbnb gives us the opportunity to welcome other travelers to our part of the world.
