  • This little suite was so well appointed and our host, Amy, is a lovely lady. The suite has everything you need to relax and although it just has a kitchenette, you can cook yourself a gourmet meal. Amy's thought of everything!

The little touches like soft and fluffy towels, super comfortable bed, and luxury hand soap/lotions etc, made us feel very welcome, cozy, and relaxed. The vibe of the house is laid back and Amy went above and beyond to help us get settled.

    We would definitely stay again!

  • I've just returned from a week at Amy's "little surf shack" and I just loved it. The room, little kitchen and the bath room are very clean and offer just anything you might need, parking is just at the door. The house is located in a nice, quite neighborhood and a bit higher up. I mention this as I appreciated it in the evenings to have a glass of wine (in a wine glass!) on the lanai looking at the sunset and then to sleep well in the slightly cooler air up there than at directly at the beach (after a day "heating up" at the beach, this was welcome). Close to airport, but no worries about noise: for that it is far enough away + flights land in along the sea-line, but the very easy access from / to airport (+rentals) are convenient, as well as the one to some very nice beaches and the small town of Kona.
Amy herself is a very kind host and will warmly help you in any way you might need it. If I have the chance to return to Hawaii, this is the place I'd hope to be able to stay again! Very warmly recommended.

  • We had a fantastic experience at Amy's place. Amy is a great host, she made us feel right at home. The appartment was cpzy and spotless. The view from the Lanai is amazing, a great way to start or end your day. We travel quite a bit and we have never found a kitchenette as well equipped and functional as Amy's Surf shack. You'll find everything you need to make a lunch, breakfast and even a light dinner. And the Banana bread...yummy!

  • Amy was friendly and helpful in making my stay in the Kona area delightful. The guest's private living space (one side of Amy's home) is spacious and comfortable with private deck with view of the ocean in the distance (great sunsets!). There is a small, well stocked kitchenette with sink, microwave, electric tea pot, blender, rice cooker, and small refrigerator. It allowed me to easily make simple meals. The bathroom is a pleasant room with a window. The neighborhood was quiet. I loved the convenience of being only 10 to 12 minutes away by car from the local Marina, as one of my passions is to go out on a boat to view whales and swim with the dolphins. I definitely look forward to staying here again on future trips to the Kailua-Kona area.

  • We had a lovely time staying at Amy's surf shack. Breakfast on the lanai overlooking the ocean was a perfect start of the day. Its a convenient location and everything is brand new and well decorated. She has plenty of guidebooks and moreover Amy is a perfect host and very outgoing. Our only regret was not having enough time to try her cooking (which smelled great).

  • Amy was an awesome host! We were lucky that we ended up staying in her home with her for a week! Her home was clean and modern with a good energy to it! She was more than accomidating to our needs and really made us feel like part of the family. Her home was central (you do need a car) to all of the places we wanted to check out on this side of the island.
    Great experience overall

  • My Little surf shack along with our host Amy Ferguson was an excellent choice. The suite is clean and modern as well as central to the airport and tourist area. We do reccomend renting a vehicle for conevenience to the whole Island. Thanks again Amy for all your help and making our holiday a wonderful experience.Sincerely, Emmett & Isabel O´Sullivan.
