About this listing
Cosy and comfortable, the cottage is a surprising size once inside the front door. Near to the centre with good links by bus or DART, it is in a quieter district of the city, with bars, shops and restaurants a-plenty. It is perfect for business.
Number Nine is also the ideal spot for your weekend getaway, or midweek city break. The cottage offers two very comfortable bedrooms with double beds and lots of storage space for your luggage to be out of the way and clothes hung up on rails.
There is a very large kitchen with everything you'd expect to find in an updated and open cooking area, the dining area is adjacent and leads out through full length glass doors to the courtyard garden. This is the perfect place to relax after a busy day.
There is fast internet broadband over wifi - enough for video conferencing, and there is access to a small office space from the second bedroom if a desk and chair were needed. A printer and paper can be provided on request.
Take a good look at the map (at the bottom of this listing - sorry, I didn't put it there) to see what is on offer locally, you won't be disappointed
The cottage is not occupied by anyone but you during your stay. We have lock box located externally for access to the keys, we'll give you the code for this, either before the stay if we can't meet you, or when we do meet you.
If a door or cupboard cannot be opened easily, it is not intended that you try. This is storage space for the housekeeper. There is only one such place in the cottage, and it is doubtful you will come across it.
Interaction with Guests
We try our best to meet our guests on arrival, give them a tour of the cottage, hand them keys, and then leave them to their own devices. We are on the phone for urgent situations, and live nearby.
Ballsbridge has lots of amenitites: restaurants, bars, an ATM, a park, a river walk, the RDS for concerts, rugby union and conferences, and good transport links into the city centre. It is quieter here than just about anywhere else in the city - rest assured (pun intended).
In the heart of Dublin's Embassy Quarter, Number Nine seems a million miles from the busy city centre; and yet, it is right in it. Stephen's Green is a twenty minute stroll; you will be passing some of the finest Georgian buildings in Ireland, through the leafy streets of Ballsbridge. Herbert Park is just across the main road and is a little oasis of calm in the busy centre of Ballsbridge. There are more restaurants in this square mile than almost anywhere else in Dublin. There are Pubs and Cafés too.
We are very well connected to Dublin's Public transport system. Bus stops for routes into town and out for further exploration are very accessible, just two minute walk from the front door; DART services are ten minutes walk on Lansdowne Road; and taxis pass so regularly that you'd swear we had them on tap!
Other Things to Note
We can't provide parking for this property; all of the on-street parking is under the control of Dublin City, and they are not shy about charging high rates per hour: don't bring a car if you can possibly help it.
NO PARKING - just for those that didn't get the meaning of the above sentence.
All that is required is respect; anything less is not enough.
About the Host, Marie-Louise
I am an artist living and working between Dublin and Italy. I make original print (if this needs explaining, visit my website, a quick search on my name will get it for you).
The cottage in Ballsbridge was my studio for years; I just recently turned it back to use as a home.
The Apartment in Barrow Street is a purpose built, modern design and tidy sapce in the centre of Dublin's information technology hub in a safe and friendly apartment block.
The other property, in Kinsale is a fabulous Georgian period three storey townhouse that is our escape from the capital.
Feel free to contact us at any time, we try very hard to respond to requests quickly.
