The space
The apartment comfortably accommodates two people and consists of a nicely equipped kitchen, a good sized bedroom with a queen sized bed and a recently renovated bathroom with a heated floor.

All bed linens and towels are provided as well as all cooking and eating utensils.

There is a flat screen TV with cable and also WiFi access.

One parking space available in front of the house. In case of a snow emergency, there is a place to park off the street in front of the house.

Guest access
The apartment has it's own private entrance. Guests are welcomed to sit in the yard and enjoy the beautiful view on the water. But we’d appreciate if you didn’t invite people over without first checking with us.

Please note that there are large boulders abutting the sea wall, and it is not safe to enter the water from there. However, there are several neighborhood beaches that are within walking distance.

Other things to note
Salem is an ideal location from which to explore many of the surrounding areas such as Boston, Cambridge, Lexington and Concord, Marblehead, Gloucester, Rockport, and Newburyport Mass. In addition, it is accessible for a day trip to southern New Hampshire and southern Maine, as well as Plymouth Plantation which is south of Boston, and Providence RI which is about an hour away.

It is not that convenient to drive to Cape Cod for the day, however there is a daily, seasonal ferry that runs from Boston to Provincetown, on Cape Cod.

Salem offers many things to do and see, and not just in October. Here is a partial list of Salem's year round events. You can also visit the web sites for the Chamber of Commerce's Main Streets and Destination Salem Events as well as the City of Salem's website for more information.

Location

Salem, Massachusetts, United States

Located about 1.5 miles from downtown Salem, the house is situated in a quaint Victorian waterfront neighborhood. It's about a 30 minute walk or 5 minute drive to many historic sights and Halloween activities.

The Historic Salem Willows amusement area, one of the oldest in the country, is one block away. A light house, several small beaches, fishing pier, game arcades, kiddie rides, kayak rentals, stand-up paddle board rental, and lots of great fast food including the best popcorn you'll ever taste are just a few of the attractions the area has to offer. (Note that The Willows businesses are only open April-Nov)

There are also many beautiful places to walk in the Willows and Winter Island Park areas. Four neighborhood beaches are also within walking distance.

We are 2.4 miles from the MBTA commuter train station. Then it’s a 25 minute train ride to Boston.

My husband and I purchased our 1876 home in the Salem Willows area a few years back and have been lovingly "restovating" it ever since, meaning we used many building materials and fixtures salvaged from other antique buildings. There is a fully equipped two room apartment in the basement, that is half above grade. It's full sized windows let in plenty of light and give a direct view of the ocean. Because thousands of tourists visit Salem every year, back in 2012, we decided to list it on Airbnb and have loved it doing it. We now manage two additional properties on Airbnb. Be sure to check them out as well! I am, as my son and daughter call me, a "creative whirlwind" who loves to do many things including, yoga dancing, painting, gardening, beading and collecting sea glass. I was a tour guide at the Salem Witch Museum and love talking about Salem's rich history. I currently teach "Let Your Yoga Dance," a joyful conscious movement class. I am also studying Clairvision Meditation. I adore tea and brew a pot of whole leaf tea every afternoon.
