Our location seems to be in a prime owl habitat for we often hear them hooting throughout the night and there seems to a variety of species judging from the different hoots we hear. In early spring and late autumn we sometimes spot great horned owls on their yearly migrations. Their calls are thrilling to hear. There is also a nesting pair of golden eagles that live on nearby Stone Mountain and we can often see them soaring over our meadows on thermals. It appears that they have reared at least two more eaglets that we also noted in the summer of 2015.
Currently we do not charge for cleaning . We just ask that guests leave the premises in basically the same condition that they found it. Pet owners are expected to pick up after their dogs. No smoking indoors. The state of Maine requires we charge 9% rooms tax. The tax is not included in the Airbnb rate and will have to be collected directly from guests upon arrival or check out.
