  • This fabulous list with the insider tips for restaurants was brilliant! Kevin and Patrick were so friendly and open, that we felt almost like staying with old friends. We absolutely recommend their classy house, which is located perfectly to explore Vancouver. Best decision for our stay!

  • Kevin and Patrick were excellent hosts (and their dog is super chill). The location is in a very nice part of Vancouver -- several lively streets are easily within walking distance. The room and private bath are quite nice. Highly recommended. Would absolutely stay again.

  • My boyfriend and I stayed with Kevin and Patrick for 3 nights mid-week and had a great time. Their advice about places to eat and sites to see was spot on. They were gracious hosts and their dog, Taavi, is so friendly and even tempered. Would gladly recommend their house to any friends that plan to visit Vancouver.

  • Kevin and Patrick's place is amazing. Located in a perfect location for first time visitors to Vancouver. This place exceeded our expectations. We didn't have a chance to meet Kevin because he was traveling but had a chance to chat with Patrick. he was very welcoming and full of great recommendations on places to see and eat.

  • Kevin & Patrick are the perfect hosts, welcoming and not complicated at all. The recommended restaurants were amazing and they live close to almost every important spot in the city. The room as well as the whole apartment are very nicely decorated. Taavi is so lovely, that my boyfriend (who usually loves cats) wants to have a Labrador now... This place is a perfect place to stay for a couple of days.

  • Kevin and Patrick were great hosts. From the start they made me feel at home. They offered up a wealth of useful tips about visiting Vancouver including a list of restaurants they recommend . Their home was lovely and clean. You have a private room big enough for an individual or couple, including a private bathroom across the hall.

This was my first visit to Vancouver. I'm really glad I chose to stay with them. It was great to be made to feel like I had something of a home to go back to after my day of sightseeing.

The location is great for touring the city. You are very central to just about everything there is to see.

They do live in the city, so don't be surprised if you hear some noise from the streets. However, they are in a relatively quiet neighborhood of tree-lined streets.

Within 20 minutes you can walk to the beach, Stanley Park, downtown or Yaletown. There is a bicycle shop on Davie street about a 10 minute walk away. You can rent a good bike there by the hour or day. It is a perfect way to see the city.

  • Kevin and Patrick (and Taavi the dog) were wonderful hosts to me and my brother. Very kind, friendly and easy going. They accomodated our change of plans given in short notice which was very appreciated. Taavi likes belly rubs and kisses (giving them). Kevin and Patrick gave us a list of restaurants to go and suggested places to go to. We had some nice chats and overall it was a great comforable environment.

The house is clean, stylish and welcoming. It's in a nice quiet area only a short walk from major streets. At the end of the day, we liked being a bit away from all the buzz.

Thank you for the great stay!

Marine Biologist & Architect
When the Olympic games came to Vancouver in 2010, we heard that there was an accommodation shortage, and that people were going to be sleeping in their cars. Thinking that this didn't sound very comfortable, we decided to open our home to visitors. We discovered that we love to share our spectacular city, but also that our guests allow us to see our city from a new perspective. We are constantly learning new things about Vancouver, and about the world through our international (and sometimes not-so-distant) visitors. When the Olympics ended we decided to keep the spirit of hospitality going. Kevin is a Marine Biologist, originally from Florida, who consults at the Vancouver Aquarium and also runs his own custom aquarium and maintenance business. Usually in flip-flops, even in the winter, Kevin brings a sunny disposition from the warm south to Vancouver. Kevin likes to balance adventure with relaxation, and to experience both urban and natural settings, getting to know new places through their people, their food, and if possible, through diving! Favourite vacation spots for Kevin: Australian Outback, Great Barrier Reef, Franz Joseph Glacier in New Zealand, Seoraksan National Park in Korea, New York City, Kyoto. His favourite spot to dive was the Whitsundays in Australia. Patrick is an associate at a small, recognized architecture firm in Vancouver, where he keeps busy and loves his work. Originally from Victoria, BC, on Vancouver Island, home is where the mountains meet the ocean. Patrick is crazy about architecture and loves to learn about new places through their historical buildings. The perfect vacation for Patrick fuses culture and relaxation. Favourite vacation spots for Patrick: Kyoto and Nara, the Meteora in Greece, Crete, Rome (the whole city, but especially the Pantheon), the baths at Caracalla in Italy, Venice, New York, the Oregon dunes, coastal California, Montreal, and anywhere in British Columbia where nature is unspoiled. Kevin and Patrick have both traveled around British Columbia extensively, so in addition to personalized recommendations for your Vancouver itinerary, they can also recommend short excursions around this stunning region.
