  • If you've ever wanted to experience Tucson in a vintage casita, this is it. We loved the location, the comfort, the privacy and the helpful host.

  • A two week business trip brought me to Tucson, buying product at the 2014 Rock and Gem Show and I must say that the best Gem I purchased was this beautiful Casita to stay in while I was there! It ment all my needs for a home away from home. Lovely decorated clean space that not only provided a great wee kitchen to create in but at days end there awaited a very confortable bed, which I greately appreciated. Being centrally located made my travels very easy to all locations, Ross and his wife have put an incredible amount ot thoughtfulness and time into each Casita as well as the magnificant court yard. Looking forward to my stay next year!

  • We had a wonderful six week long stay at Casita Helena, made more so by the Raderstorfs' great hospitality, efficiency and friendliness! The casita is well-located (especially if you are in Tucson on university business) and within walking distance to nice shops and restaurants. If we are ever back in Tucson we will definitely choose to stay there again!

  • The charming casitas are ideally located on a quiet residential street with a very nice gated courtyard garden. All the comforts and very tasteful decor made this home-away-from-home a real delight. Just a short walk to a nice shopping area with a food coop, cafes and interesting shops. Ross even provides bicycles! I stayed in the east casita where the bedroom window opens to lovely green trees.

  • We couldn't have chosen a better location or space for our 8-day visit to Tucson! Casita Helena is a lovingly renovated and furnished home away from home in a quiet neighborhood. From the well furnished kitchen to the first class linens, we were completely satisfied. Having access to free on-site laundry and bike storage were extra pluses for us as was the charming garden patio space. All this and within walking distance of the action of 4th Avenue and the University area as well as downtown - wow.

Ross was responsive and accommodating in every way. He readily loaned us his book of local cycling routes and even his own umbrella during the freak snow storm. He let us know when he was going out of town but assured us that he had someone standing by in case we needed anything. He also stopped by our last night just to bid us farewell and ask for feedback on possible improvements.

    We heartily recommend Casita Helena!

  • Our stay at the Casita was perfect. Ross was very nice and helpful with the check in process. The Casita was extremely clean and perfect for our homecoming weekend. Great location for campus, 4th ave, and downtown. We hope to stay there again the next time we visit Tucson.

I have been teaching in the public school system here in Tucson for the past 28 years. My wife is also an educator at the University of Arizona. We have two amazing daughters, 15 and 13, who are the focus of our lives. We have been renting our guesthouse, Casita Emmalia, as a vacation rental for the past 8 years. We love meeting new people, building relationships, and welcoming return guests each winter season. Over the past three years, we have been working hard to restore a historic Spanish colonial 4-plex near the University of Arizona. We have completely renovated the property inside and out and are very happy with the results. We now offer two fully furnished one bedroom casitas and two fully furnished 2 bedroom units on Airbnb. Check out our listings for Casitas Helena! Since we have the summers free, we love to travel and explore new places.....especially places by water because we have so little in Arizona. We traveled to Italy during the summer of 2012 and used airbnb for several accommodation stops. We had good luck using the site and plan to use it again in future travels. We traveled with our two daughters to Ecuador during the summer of 2013 to attend a language school in the colonial town of Cuenca. We plan to use airbnb during our travels next summer. In the states, one of our favorite places to spend time is Bolinas, California.....great beaches and hiking....and so close to San Francisco, our favorite American city! We have also recently discovered Telluride, Colorado and have spent the past few New Years skiing and enjoying the beauty of the west slope of the Rocky Mountains.
