I hope this review helps Tang be more accountable and better look after her listing's visitors in the future. Here's my experience with her:
1. She was not responsive.
On the days leading up to my visit, she would not reply to my texts or answer my phone calls or Airbnb messages. She did it eventually. But it took me several attempts to get to her and the delay made me worry.
2. She did not communicate our needs to her aunt and uncle.
The day before, I told Tang what time I would be there. When we got to the house, no one was home. My sister and I waited outside for nearly 30 minutes, which shouldn't have happened if she had at least told us ahead of time that no one would be there.
3. She over-promised.
She stated in her description that airport pickups, rides, and breakfast were included. That did not happen and she did not compensate for it. Every morning we only saw a container with cereal and crackers on the table and I had told her twice that I had special dietary needs. The place she listed is fine. Not as clean or beautiful as she made it seem.
If she can get her act together, your visit will be a lot better and less worrisome.
I felt very welcomed from the moment I arrived, my fiancé and I were met with open arms and greats smiles! the neighborhood was great and very comfortable. I loved the hospitality we were given everyday and it made us feel right at home. We will definitely be rebooking at this home in the future.
So-called "Beautiful House" looks nothing like the photo. It's in a lower-middle class suburb of Minneapolis called Richfield. The home was cluttered, with a Fisher Price pool table in the living room and some odds and ends on the dining room table. I never actually met Tang Tang, just an older couple who did not speak English. The room was a small bedroom, clean and neat. However, the bed was hard as a rock. Our bathroom tub's finish was worn down and looked grimy. At 1:45 am, someone started running the washing machine downstairs. The tumbling of the machine was so loud it woke up both my husband and me, and kept running for an hour. Needless to say, we did not get any sleep that night. The next morning, there was no indication of what breakfast was supposed to be, although there was a box of corn flakes, a bowl full or oranges, and a container of instant coffee on the dining room table. There was no note about anything, just those two older people who seemed nice, but who spoke no English. We left after one night, even though we paid for five.
I am so sorry for the accidental incident. I never ever heard any of my guests complained anyone who using the washing machine at midnight before. So I didn't know that until Marcia called me and told me that she and her husband already left my place. I was trying to persuade them come back on the phone ( I told her I can solve all of her problems and also said I can switch them to another bigger bedroom) But Marcia said they would never get back. :( For the breakfast, I am really sorry as my fault, My aunt didn't prepare breakfast for them. I should have updated my Airbnb web for the daily breakfast request. Cause we no longer offer the breakfast since my aunt has to work every morning and she doesn't have time to cook. Unless the guests have a special request for breakfast( Guests usually would let me know before they arrive) . My aunt would prepare. Otherwise, We just put some simple fruit and snack on the table. Also, guests can free to get any stuff from refrigerator. I am sorry that you didn't ask me anything and I just thought everything was fine. So I didn't call you asking how is everything going? I will do better and spending more time to communicate with my guests in the future.
I enjoyed staying with Tang's family. Her uncle and aunt were excellent hosts and took good care of me. I had a good and calm experience during my stay in the 'beautiful house rental'. The house indeed was very beautiful. I hope I can stay here again during my next visit.
My 3 night stay in Richfield was overall a pleasant experience. This house is located in a homey neighborhood. Great place to just walk around if you're waiting to get picked up or if you just want to explore. Tang's Uncle & Aunt who live in the house were very joyful and hospitable even though there was a language barrier. We were able to communicate well with just the basics. They really give you your space and let you do your own thing. They provided cereal and tea for breakfast. The Aunt and Uncle asked if I was cold at night and I told them it was. They immediately adjusted the temperature in the house. You can make the adjustment yourself which is located right outside the room.
It's very nice stay here, let me feel like home, I will come here again and again, I also recommend my friends to stay here when they are in Minneapolis。
