Because of a city zoning ordinance I have had to move my lodging accommodations to 30 days or more for the time being. I do not believe this will be permanent, but it is the position I am in for the present. As of the middle of April the city of Ashland has still not resolved the zoning issues that keep me from offering short term rentals. My apologies to all of my guests.
Comfortable, cozy bedroom suite and private bath. I have been encouraged to rent this room out for years and am finally there. This room offers an extremely comfortable queen bed, electric Franklin stove for ambiance (especially great in the winter), cable t.v. refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker with organic coffee and tea, parking in front and use of laundry room on site. The room is very private, has its own entrance, looks out onto the garden, and is generally separate from the main house. Street parking in front of the house is available as is access to washer and dryer if necessary.
I have lived in Ashland for over 30 years and have watched the town evolve and change. The Oregon Shakespeare Festival is a 30 minute walk, or 7 minute drive from the house. A myriad of fabulous hiking trails are located a 15 minute walk from the door that offer meandering creeks, and a waterfall, all tucked in the beautifully forested areas that surround Ashland. I have a hard shell kayak available for the many lakes and reservoirs that are any easy 10 to 30 minute drive away, and are great day trip get-a way's. Winters are wonderful in Ashland. Skiing/boarding, snow shoeing and cross country enthusiasts are just 25 minutes away from Mt. Ashland. Other winter sport venues are equally accessible and close. For one's eating/drinking pleasure coffee houses abound as does wonderful food. Ashland has many fine/eclectic restaurants, several sinful bakeries, and two breweries all within a three mile radius.
My home is a small, peaceful cottage. Everyone who enters tells me how comfortable and calm they feel when they are here. The back suite is a reflection of that peace also, as is the back garden. Public transportation is available and stops at the end of the street at 20 minute intervals.
I do have a sensitivity to chemicals and the like, so please no smoking... or strong fragrances/incenses that may also affect others on their visit. Terribly sorry, no pets.
Lovely room in a quiet and comfortable location. We would absolutely recommend staying with Rhonda. After a long day on the road Rhonda was warm and welcoming. Coffee and breakfast was very kindly provided. Oh and the banana bread is the best we've ever tasted!
We spent 6 lovely nights at Rhonda's. The room is charming and quiet. Sliding glass doors open to a garden where we sat and read. We slept with doors an windows open at night so we could hear the fountain. Rhonda left lovely breakast things for our first morning, including coffee. Thanks, Rhonda! The room is very comfortable, light and airy. Rhonda keeps a respectful distance but is avaiable to help with plans and restaurant suggestons. Be sure to eat at Dragonfly in Ashland. This was our very first airbnb experience and we were thoroughly pleased. We would definitely stay at Rhonda's again.
Rhonda's place was really fantastic. Private and with nice access to a lovely small garden, and luckily I had a chance for a few nice chats with Rhonda, who's lovely. Comfortable, clean, and great hospitality, including a fridge well stocked for breakfasts. Thanks Rhonda......
Rhonda has a lovely room with a view of a wonderful garden. The location is convenient but quiet. I would stay there again. Miriam
Rhonda is an impeccable host! It was a perfect spot for a quick rest after a stressful week of moving and a long day of driving. We felt immediately relaxed and at home. The room has all of the necessary amenities, She has a beautiful garden where we relaxed and ate the breakfast treats she left for us.
Ashland was a great town to start our round-the-world adventure ((website hidden)) and Rhonda's place was excellent.
My girlfriend and I had an excellent stay! Rhonda is extremely generous (her gluten free bread is delicious), and she made us feel right at home. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the garden was beautiful. We highly recommend staying here, and we hope we can visit again soon.
We felt lucky to have selected Rhonda's home for our short stay in Ashland. The suite is totally private and we appreciated having our own bathroom. The suite is spacious and comfortable with a view of the beautiful garden in the backyard. Rhonda even left us some tasty breakfast treats in the mini fridge. We highly recommend Rhonda's cozy queen suite and would definitely stay here again the next time we visit Ashland.
Greetings. I am a retired English teacher, who still teaches two classes at a local high school. I consider myself unpretentious, an avid reader, gardener and particularly love the the out-of-doors almost as much as I like meeting new people. I fell in love with Ashland because of the forests, mountain lakes and the genuine friendliness and spirited individualism of the community. I also consider myself a fairly adept cook, have an organic garden and am the happiest when I am outside just puttering, pulling weeds, watering or simply staring at the foothills from the back deck.
I am fond of music in its many forms, from opera to The Electric Light Orchestra, enjoy film especially Independent and documentaries, and as much as I try can't seem to wean myself off of Kettle chips.
Welcome to this lovely community and my home.
