The Space

Separate spacious and private studio size guest house with a sunrise canyon view in a lovely verdant hillside neighborhood with plenty of free street parking. There is a small kitchen (mini fridge, coffee maker, sink, toaster oven, microwave-no oven or cooktop), queen size bed + comfortable queen size couch sofa and full bathroom with bathtub. There is wifi but no tv.

We are in the foothills behind the Hollywood Bowl and a 10 min walk to Universal Studios and the metro line there on Lankershem. Short drive up the hill to Mulholland Drive with amazing views of the whole city and hiking trails. We are walking distance to a quaint neighborhood French bar/restaurant, a starbucks and neighborhood convenience market shop. Minutes by car to Studio City, Hollywood. Short drive to West Hollywood, Los Feliz and Silverlake.

There is wireless access, plenty of drawers and closet space for clothes, air conditioning and plenty of street parking. We have a whole house water filter so all the water in the guest house is very high quality, chlorine and chemical free. We also have a tankless water heater.

This is a very safe neighborhood and we are on a cul de sac street. You will be able to come and go as late or early as you like without disturbing anyone.

  • Although the place is centrally located I found the experience less than satisfying . I did not once see my host or meet her upon arrival. As a matter of a fact I did not see her at all. Also the room was not very clean, it had no television, no radio, and the dishes were put away dirty. In Fanee's extremely long instructions she mentions her phone number as (hidden) ... The phone number was nowhere to be found nor was it offered! So there was no way to reach her if there was a need. My personal favorite in regard to my stay was the fact that I "HAD TO PARK" in the street where my car was hit and damaged during the stay. How do I know it happened in front of the house you ask? Well it was the debris found in the street in front of her house near my car. Oh and one last thing... I also received a text early in the morning asking when I would be leaving because she had some work she was having done to the place... We ended up leaving some items there and she was nice enough to notice and leave them outside for us to pick up.. Yes I said outside! There was no work being done on the place! So if you are tolerant of this less than professional behavior by all means stay here, if not then I highly recommend finding someone who actually cares about there guests and takes pride in your stay being a comfortable one.

  • The guesthouse was perfect for my work trip to LA. It was spacious, comfortable, and safe. The decor was absolutely stunning and I am inspired to redecorate my own place! Fanee was a great host and I appreciated her detailed instructions as well as tips which ranged from avoiding traffic to good local spots to eat. I would love to stay again if the place is available.

  • I must say this was my very first experience with Airbnb and I felt fortunate to find this gem in Hollywood Hills. Lots of my friends have been asking why don't I use Airbnb since I travel so much and spend most of my life sleeping in hotel rooms. But I don't like the idea of sharing people's home while they are gone or still there. I am very private. I find difficult to invade someone's privacy, by entering into their world, their energy, their taste...But I decided to give it a try and it only took me a few minutes to find this guest house, which was absolutely perfect. The decoration is even neutral, not too girly, not too masculine, with enough character to make you feel at home, and not in another hotel room. I had a huge smile on my face when I saw the tea selection in the kitchen from my favorite tea place in LA, Urth cafe, with my nickname on it. What a sweet coincidence. That made me feel like I was expected and the place has been prepared just for me, but of course Fanee didn't know that. Then I saw the organic products that I use myself and it felt very nice to be in a property with conscious people. I haven't seen Fanee but when I asked for an iron, she dropped it off by the door within 5 minutes. The place is very quiet, the view is wonderful, even the road to get there reminded me South of France. It's very easy to find a free street parking spot in front of the house. LA is my home base but I'm in between trips and between homes. I will consider staying at Fanee's guesthouse again while I'm looking for my perfect new home.

  • This listing was way above what I was expecting. Being my first time with AirBnB, Fanee succeeded at making sure I will choose this travel option in the future. The guesthouse was furnished with taste and high quality items. It really felt like home. The location is wonderful and away from the business of L.A. I will go there again if I am travelling in the area.

  • A gem of a little place. What a great find! Glad we booked it when we did. It was close to everywhere we needed to be, Universal Studios etc. Great places to eat in the area all within a very short distance. Comfortable, clean, quiet with a nice little view, it was perfect :-)

  • Cute place in a great neighborhood with greenery all around. If you want to be close to the sights but not too close to the noise and traffic, this is the place to stay. Fanae was friendly, informative (she has a welcome book, great touch!) and accommodating. This was my first time in LA and loved venturing out like a local. Great first Airbnb experience, will definitely recommend and/or come back!

  • Fanee went above and beyond in our Airbnb experience with her. My husband and I moved 3000 miles from NYC, and into this incredibly chic and tucked away home in the Hills for a week. Fanee was totally open and beyond helpful in helping us facilitate our stuff. And even when I left something important behind, she was available to help us out with ease, and generous hospitality. Did I mention this is a totally chic and private home in the Hills?

  • Fanee's guesthouse was a very nice place to stay. There was a good amount of sunlight from the front windows, modern style of furnishings and a peaceful noise-free environment. Easy access to wi-fi at all times; no problems. Street parking is very convenient right outside her driveway next to the house. She also provided an entire booklet of information on the neighborhood and how everything worked in the guesthouse. I would definitely visit again. Thanks, Fanee!
