is a houseboat with a lot of charm.
Space, nice light, good colors and a lot of handmade
are the words trying to describe the Annika.
The feeling you get, fits to the dynamic, cosmopolitan capital Amsterdam
Annika is moored 100 meter from the "Annema" and 200 meter from the "Piano - Forte"..... what means
in the centre of Amsterdam
in an area called "West".
The "West" is a typical "volks" district which has in recent years been restored.
The Jordaan is a neighborhood just on the opposite side of the channel where the Annika is moored.
It is Amsterdam's Greenwich Village.
With its narrow alleys, leafy canals lined with 17th-century houses,
quirky specialty shops, cafes and designer boutiques.
The neighborhood was originally built for artists, craftsmen, and tradesmen and the old character still remains,
though gentrification has left its mark.
The Annika is moored in a sunny position where are no other houseboats on the opposite site.
This makes the view bigger, in busy small Amsterdam.
There is a fully equipped kitchen, which is open to the living-room.
Big bedroom (with a double bed)
In the living-room is one double bed and a very good simply to use sofa-bed (double).
Bed - linen, blankets and towels are supplied
Terrace in front and in the back of the boat. <
The water from the tab you can drink without any doubts.
Hot water, kitchen and the heating system operates on piped gas.
The boats are well insulated and centrally heated.
With a thermostat you choose the temperature you want.
There is color cable television (email hidden) - stereo system with a CD-player.
There is good sanitation and a flush toilet.
On all the boats (email hidden)- connection (you have to bring your own laptop....).
The Annika has one terrace in front
and one terrace in the back of the houseboat. In the summertime you can sit outdoors, while during the winter-season
also this boat is cozy, warm and comfortable.
Just try it.
The size of the Annika is 16,00m x 4,50m (without terraces).
There is a peace and freedom that goes with this style of living.
The entire boat is for your own use and offers you excellent privacy.
One minute from the Annika is an evening - shop and a bigger supermarket is a 5 - minutes walk away
A Tram-stop is around the corner
You have the opportunity of a variety of restaurants, brown cafes, jazz club, comedy club or piano bar, all in short walking distance.
Discover Amsterdam, by boot, bicycle, tram or by feet,
forget the car.
We really enjoyed staying on Annika. The great communication with Klaus already was a hint that we made the right choice.
The boat is indeed a unique experience and I can recommend it to anyone looking far an alternative way of enjoying Amsterdam. Of course you shouldn't expect a 5 star hotel - however, it's a spacious place which offers everything needed for a stay to my mind. It's quiet, you got swans, ducks and seagulls as neighbors and 4 people could easily stay there. The location is quiet, central, good for people watching, well connected with busses and trams.
There are shops as well as some good restaurants for eating in walking distance. The rijstafel in Long Pura was very good and Moeders is also well worth trying if you can live with paying a little more for a quality Dutch meal (both are in Rozengracht). Bagels and Beans is nice for breakfast or trying different types of coffee and tea.
Natasha and Klaus were helpful with tips and you will also find a few guidebooks if you're looking for even more inspiration.
A big thank you for the great time we had there and I hope you enjoyed the little gift we left. I'd surely book it again when returning to Amsterdam later.
Staying in a houseboat in Amsterdam is a unique experience and this is what Annika is all about. We were 3 and there is enough space for 4th person. Rooms are pretty spacious and clean.
Communication with Klaus was easy, he provided us with all the info needed to find the boat and Natascha was a great host, giving us all the info to find our way around A'dam.
I'd choose it again!
My 11 year old daughter and I spent the last four days of our 9 week European travel adventure on Annika, it was truly the best way to end our holiday, sitting out to eat our meals watching people cruising up and down the canal was lovely, everything was walking distance and conveniently close, supermarket around the corner. Annika was lovely and comfortable and had great character. I would definitely recommend a stay and would definitely book again when in Amsterdam. The lady who met us at the boat was friendly and helpful.
What can I say... WE LOVE ANNIKA!
We had the best time and will definitely be back. Klaus was a great host, answering any questions I had about the property and responding very quickly.
The houseboat was clean, very comfortable and in the most amazing location - close enough to walk anywhere we wanted to go.
But we have to say what really made our trip was the floating pontoon, the friendly swan and The lovely Natascha.
We are already planning our next trip back!
Fantastic place, very cozy. Location and value are great to.
Staying in Klau's house boat was one of the best experiences I ever had! The house was even nicer than I was expecting: beautiful, super clean, spacious and very well located. Me and my family just loved everything!
Besides the house itself, that's cool and comfortable, you can also have fun feeding the ducks and swans that comes every time to the windows and are very docile. Or just enjoy the decks in front and behind the house, with a stunning view!
We had a great service from Klaus and his staff. They did everything to make us feel comfortable and enjoy the period. Something to never forget! I highly recommend Klaus and all this experience!
The houseboat was absolutely fantastic! Close to town, quiet, warm and spacious. Highly recommended to all!
I was touched by the simple beauty that comes with sleeping on the water: the way it rocks gently when another boat passes, the sunlit-water reflections on the wall and ceiling, the ducks and water fowl bobbing by. It rained quite hard one the three nights we stayed on the ANNIKA, and the sound of water on the roof and canal was amazing.
I have no complaints, only praise for the experience of staying on the ANNIKA. It was clean, fully equipped, and easy to get to by tram from the center of town. There were lovely restaurants and bars nearby as well.
The houseboat Annika is a fantastic place to stay whilst in Amsterdam. It's generous in size, immaculate, has so much character and is located in a beautiful part of the city.
Klaus and Natasha were helpful and accommodating, I can't recommend the experience highly enough.
Forget booking a hotel, spending time on the water is the *only* way to do Amsterdam. We’ll definitely be back.
