Relax and enjoy the view in my contemporary bungalow situated on Queen Anne, one of Seattle's best neighborhoods. Just minutes from Downtown and other popular neighborhoods, including Ballard and Fremont. You can either rent the entire house or if I have my son, you can just rent the basement (see my other listing - note that the whole house is rarely available for more than 3 nights). There's a HUGE wrap around deck with a lovely view looking into north Seattle and on a clear day you can see the Cascades.
The house features three well appointed bedrooms, including one with a crib. The downstairs was recently remodeled with bamboo hardwood flooring, custom shoji screen doors, a pleasant sitting room, a gas insert fireplace, and a super comfy media room that has an oversized 61" HDTV (including satellite, Apple TV, etc). There's also a ping pong table in the garage (along with a ping pong robot -- don't ask).
Upstairs there is a fully stocked kitchen featuring stainless steel appliances, a gas range, an open living room with big windows and lots of light (well, as much light as you're going to get in Seattle). There's also a full bathroom, a master bedroom, an office with a digital piano (and tons of sheet music), and my son's room which for now has a crib. There's wi-fi throughout the whole house and a ton of parking all around the house.
Fantastic house! My family stayed here for the weekend and loved it. Tons of interesting art and reading material, and what a view!
My family and I had a fantastic time in Seattle and staying in such a great place as Rob's house made it even more so. Rob's place is homely, spacious, very well equipped and was perfect for our family. It is situated in a quiet and friendly neighbourhood but it is only a short drive from almost everywhere in Seattle. Rob is friendly and easy to communicate with. He was very helpful and gave us some great recommendations. Thanks Rob for being such a great host. If we are ever back in Seattle we would definitely look to stay here again.
Rob's place is much more than the listing title might suggest. "Cozy cottage" could be taken to mean cramped conditions. But Rob's place has great space. The living area upstairs is nice open plan, leading out on to a large deck. And the music room worked well as a fourth bedroom for our wee one in the crib. That gave my wife and I the run of the downstairs. While there is not much within walking distance of Rob's place, the location is really good in terms of accessibility. It is easy on to many major routes, with easy access and short drives to Ballard, Green Lake, the zoo and many other things Seattle has to offer. Rob was a great host and was very understanding about a mistake I made regarding the dates of our booking - very much appreciated Rob!
The word "cottage" doesn't do this place justice with how spacious it is. We comfortably fit 5 adults for 4 nights. For the area, this place is very reasonably priced. Not only is it a charming neighborhood, but I didn't realize how close Queen Anne was to everything as well! It seemed like Capitol Hill, Fremont, and Downtown were all within 1-5 miles. This house has everything, from a view, to an office, to a ping pong table, to a huge TV (I happily watched the LA Kings advance to the Stanley Cup here). Rob was easy to communicate with, even though we only had one exchange because everything went smoothly. We were all bummed we couldn't meet Rob because from all the books on his shelf proving how well-traveled he was, his great taste, and his neighbors pointing out how handsome he was, we all wanted to be his friend and move in to his house by the time out trip was over. We all fell in love with Seattle, and this house in this location made everywhere so easily accessible. If I came back to Seattle I'd see if this place was available again for sure!
This is a great place to stay in Seattle. Rob was easy to communicate with, and the house has lots of great amenities like a grill and a big screen tv. I would ABSOLUTELY love to stay here again if I ever come back to Seattle!
Rob was very accomodating, flexible and responsive without even meeting him in person. The space is very well appointed, comfortable, with panoramic views of the hills surrounding Queen Anne. It was easy to find (as a Seattlite) and there *are* busses that run nearby (~3 blocks away), you just need to be willing/able to navigate it.
Highlights: Wrap around porch with seating, grill, views; dimmer switches on most of the lights; speakers in the ceiling; beautiful collection of art around the house; lots of space for a "cottage."
Lowlight (minor): About four tech-savvy 30-somethings had the darndest time trying to work the sound and tv systems. A more detailed set of instructions near the systems would be helpful.
I would rent again and would highly recommend.
We had a great stay at Robs beautiful house. It was perfect for me and my family. Rob has great taste and the house had a beautiful and positive vibe. Rob was easy going and easy to communicate with. I highly recommend staying here, I know I will next time I am in Seattle.
Wow, we absoutely loved staying at Rob's beautiful home for a weekend. It felt just like home.We loved the neighborhood and the view out the amazing panoramic windows. His home was extremely comfortable, clean and in such a great location for commuting downtown or across the bridge to Ballard. Rob was such an excellent host with his quick responses and was extremely kind and accomodating. I can only hope this is available the next time we're in Seattle because I can't imagine staying anywhere else! Thank you for opening your home to us, we really enjoyed it!!
Great house! This rental helped to make our stay in Seattle a great one. Rob was a very good host and responded very quickly to our emails. Would want to stay hear again next time we visit Seattle.
