The studio has a clean style. The living and bedroom are dettached with different decoration each space. There is a fan in the ceiling. The kitchen has got most utensilios for eating and cooking and a medium size refrigerator. The bathroom has got a hot and cold water shower and it is large and comfortable.
I have just fixed the shower problem, put a ceiling fan to refresh, changed the pillows for new and bigger ones as well as, got some news bedlines. Kitchen utensils have also had
I do not live there but nearby and I can provide the guests with all the information they need such as what to see, to do or not to do.
Barra is one of the most beautiful districts of Salvador because of the two most famous beaches of there: Porto da Barra - famous for its swimming waters and sun set - and Farol da Barra, with its waves, swimming pools and open sea. There are restaurants, shops, historical monuments and the famous Shopping Barra at a walking distance. The main attractions are to see the sun set in the back of the Farol da Barra, to eat crabs (the whole thing) in front of the sea and the artcraft street fair in Porto da Barra on Fridays starting at 6:00 p.m. with alive music.
The district is well served by buses and taxis existing lots of buses stop near the apto.
The differential point of my place is the location and my disposition to give orientation about our culture to my guests.
Carnival package: 8 or 10 days: R$ 3000,00 (hosts up to 4 persons)
Espero que deixem o apartamento como o encontraram, ou seja limpo e com tudo funcionando. Se não, que deixem a taxa de limpeza de R$ 70,00.
We stayed in this apartment in March 2013 for 8 nights. It's in a very convenient location, about 2 blocks to the Farol de Barra beach, and a 10-minute walk to the Porto de Barra beach. Close to little grocery shops and restaurants within walking distance. About a 15-minute bus ride to Pelourinho, and a 10-minute walk to a large shopping mall. The apartment also has wi-fi access, which is great. Dilu, the hostess, was a very nice lady, very willing to give us pointers on activities and things to look for and explore in the area. But the apartment itself, however, needs some improvement. It is a lot older than it looks in the pictures. There is no air conditioning, which is necessary in Brazil (especially if you're coming from a colder climate). I do not remember whether the lack of A/C was mentioned on the website. The fan given to substitute hardly worked. The bathroom, most especially the toilet seat, is old and worn. There is damage from a water leak on the bathroom ceiling that was never fixed and now looks like it's growing something. The toilet flush was weak, though it did work. Water, for showering and doing the dishes, did not always work. Sometimes the water flow would stop suddenly. This is probably a building problem, not just affecting the apartment, and out of the control of the hostess. Small, very basic kitchen, but missing some essentials (no drying rack, spatula, sharp knives, cutting board, or coffee maker). This made cooking a challenge. The only working power outlet is located in the kitchen, which made charging cameras, laptops and any other appliances difficult. There are uncovered holes in the wall present throughout the apartment. The mattress and child-size pillows (really pieces of foam covered with a pillow case) were not comfortable for a stay of 8 nights. However, for what we paid nightly, it probably was a good deal for the area. I would recommend it, if you're just looking for a basic place to sleep.
In order to refresh the room properly I ve installed a fan in the ceiling (air condition is not mentioned in the add;)
Water problem (bathroom and kitchen) is solved by the Condomínio as it was a building problem;
new toilet seat;
new big pillows;
new bed linen;
a drying rack and kitchen utensiles
Thanking you in advance,
A Dilu é uma anfritiã excelente, super solicita e amiga. O apartamento é aconchegante, bem equipado e com ótima localização na Barra. Recomendo!
It was our first time in Brasil and we loved the country and all the guys all around. The apartment is well located and 2 blocks from the beach away. You have a planty of shops and restaurants around the aparment. Barra is 1 hour away from the airport if you go by bus, 40 minuts by taxi. The bus to pelourinho takes 15 minutes. The pelourinho is really recommendable but we enjoined that we didn´t stay their but close to the beach.
Well in my opinion the almoust 40€ we paid were too much.
Because: - the shower sometimes didn´t work
- we got 2 blackouts
- the apartment hasn´t a aircon
- and it is still Brasil and noch any european downtown
but all in all I said that if you want to have an apartment in Barra you can pick this. But I think there better places in the city to stay.
