Very nice people in a quiet location. Elsa wasn't there, but her dad greeting us warmly. The kitchen and bathroom were exceptional! Make sure you're aware that they smoke downstairs and if the windows are closed, the smell comes upstairs. They have cats, but the dad offered to take it downstairs. As long as you're not allergic to cats or smoke, you'll enjoy it!

Elsa's place felt like home immediately on arrival. I loved all the art work, the company of the cats, and long chats with her brother and father. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was nice and very clean. I loved the view from the kitchen window and how the light comes into the whole apartment. However, if you are not used to long days in summer, I would recommend a sleeping mask. Elsa's place is perfect for a solo traveler looking for some peace and quiet. It is a bit of a bus ride from the city center, but well worth it. Expect to pay close to $6 CND for a bus trip. Taxi was about $50 Cdn to the city center. If you're arriving tired and disoriented from BSI I would recommend taking at taxi to Elsa's place since the hill walking up can be quite challenging with heavy backpacks or suitcases. The swimming pool nearby was a lovely place to relax and get some exercise. The is a grocery store in walking distance, ice cream shop, and some restaurants. Beautiful walking paths if you'd like a low key day around the neighbourhood. My overall experience was great. Again, company and conversation with Elsa's family and various neighbours stopping by for a visit. I would definitely book again if available.

Elsa was kind enough to let us stay at her place in a very short notice after our previous plans and accommodation fell through and also, since the weather was really bad the next day we stayed until later afternoon waiting for our flight back (we didn't have to sit at the airport for hours but were in a warm and safe place). Her family are great hosts and gave us the warmest welcome in our entire stay in Iceland. We left with nicest impressions. Thank you once again.

It's the flat where lives the life typically cozy like the Icelanders'. By just walking out of the door you'll have the beautiful panorama of the city. And if its in summer there could even be northern lights at night. its located in a quiet little hill, not far from downtown. if you have a car, it will absolutely be the best place to stay. Lovely people, they left a totally private space upstairs but were so helpful. And once having a conversation, they got lots of stories to tell. Surely i enjoyed the time i spent with the cuddly cat. a lot. In all, an unforgettable experience. ;)
