About this listing
Located in the heart of Amsterdam's most picturesque and traditional neighborhood, the Jordaan, this is a well-designed apartment located very close to the beautiful Westertoren, Anne Frank's house and the famous Dam Square. Your apartment (you would get the entire place for yourself (90m2), is right in the middle of Amsterdam’s canal belt and some of the best bars and restaurants the city has to offer are just outside the door.
A typical city bike for your use
Full balcony with seating area
Luxurious coffee machine
The apartment has most of the things you really want for your stay in Amsterdam : high-speed WiFi internet, iPhone/MP3 stereo connections for the sound system, washing machine/dryer, cable TV, a deluxe coffee machine, a hairdryer, and you have the apartment's authentic Amsterdam city bicycle for your unlimited use. Trust me, the bike is the way to explore this amazing city.
The apartment features a very modern and complete kitchen with refrigerator, microwave/oven, dishwasher, grill and stovetop – it is a very comfortable kitchen to cook in. There is also a large supermarket in the neighborhood, and of course, the famous Noordemarkt market is close by as well.
The master bedroom is very spacious and the bed is extremely large (2.0m x 1.60m), soft and comfortable. The apartment is very well lit by natural light (especially in the mornings) and while smoking inside is not permitted, there is a full sized terrace/balcony where you can go outside, hangout and enjoy the peaceful courtyard, and smoke whatever you like. The apartment is on the 1st floor so that means 1 flight of stairs, which are narrow and a little bit steep -- fortunately it is well lit, and there are nice solid railings.
The bathroom has a very large and new bathtub and a luxurious shower. Clean sheets and towels are all included, as well as universal electricity adapters for your appliances should you come from overseas. You will have a 2012 Amsterdam guidebook at your disposal and I will be able to help with suggestions depending on what you like – as I will personally greet you and make sure that you can stay in touch with me throughout your stay. My check in times are extremely flexible.
The Amsterdam Jordaan is undoubtedly the most sung about, described and romantic town district of the Netherlands. Started as a district for the poor, today it is a favorite place for students, artists and young professionals.. If this neighborhood appeals to you, and you want to stay in a modern but very comfortable apartment in the heart of the jordaan, this is the place to stay for you!

Fred was a perfect host- communicative, thoughtful, punctual and had many great ideas to offer about life in Amsterdam. The flat was spacious and lovely- very easy for 4 people to enjoy. In the greatest neighborhood, just a few blocks from everything. I will definitely contact Fred when I return to Amsterdam! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

About the Host, Fred
I am a 15 year resident of Amsterdam, after moving here from the Boston area to discover my dutch roots. I have come to love my city, and it's hidden charms, and am frequently on the move. My sport and my passion is ultimate frisbee, and I spend a great deal of my time organizing one of the world's biggest and baddest ultimate frisbee tournaments. I am the type of host that likes to get involved when you need some guidance or company, and leave you to it when you want to be the intrepid explorer. Happy trails!
