Casa Tres Vistas is uniquely positioned on Gringo Hill to view the jungle to the South, sunsets to the West and ocean and town to the North. Sayulita's main plaza and beach are only a five minute walk away, however the location remains quiet and tranquil. The house has two large bedrooms with ensuites, one with a king sized bed and the other has a queen and built in couch that can double for a child's bed. There is a full kitchen, living room and dining areas. Wireless internet and satelite television provide some of the comforts and convenience of home. The expansive deck boasts spectacular views, pool, waterfall feature, Weber gas BBQ, dining and lounge areas. The rooftop palapa has amazing views and is the perfect spot to lounge on hammocks, practice yoga or siesta in the al fresco bedroom.
My wife and I visited Sayulita for the first time this July (2014), and were very happy to have found and stayed at Chris's house. Unfortunately we didn't get to meet Chris in person, because she was on vacation the weekend we arrived. However, she was extremely helpful and responsive via e-mail, and she had her friend Stephanie greet us upon arrival. Stephanie was just as nice, responsive, and helpful as Chris.
The pictures on Airbnb probably don't do the place justice. It's really a beautiful home with an amazing view from the top of the hill. The house is situated on a hill away from the town center, so you don't get a lot of street noise/traffic. The sleeping accommodations are very comfortable. The house is also much bigger than we expected. Chris also keeps a water cooler and a well stocked kitchen, so you can just show up with your groceries and make yourself at home.
Ask Chris to set you up with Aldo (the driver) for a round-trip pickup from the airport to the home. That will make your transport much more comfortable. No need to rent a car.
A couple of unexpected things that travelers should be aware of: 1) The house is a very open layout. The living room is closed off from the outside by a gate, rather than walls and a door. Therefore, when it's hot outside, it's hot inside. We were there in July, so it was hot. Also, when it's noisy outside (e.g., crickets, birds, frogs, etc. (no street noise though)), it's noisy inside. The rooms, however, do close off and have private A/C units. So you can retreat to the rooms (or the pool) if it gets too hot. 2) Being on a hill has its advantages (e.g., views, solitude, etc.), but also requires your to walk up and down the hill to get to the town/beach. It's not a bad walk at all. Maybe 5 mins. But you should expect it.
Overall, my wife and I were VERY happy with Chris and her home. We would love the opportunity to stay there again.
Hi Peter, Thank you very much for the great write up. I think your description of the house and its location will really help people decide if its the right place for them. Indeed, you did come at one of the hottest times of the year but I do think you are correct and I will pick up a few more fans. Would love to have you back and so glad to hear you enjoyed your stay.
Casa tres vistas was amazing!!! The best part was the pool. My boys had a great time playing in the pool together while keeping cool. The house was not only comfortable but beautifully decorated.
Chris was a incredible host. If we had any questions or concerns, she always responded to our text or email in a timely matter. The house is well maintained we enjoyed the company of Sophia and Luis when they were around to help keep the house and pool clean.
Thanks again Chris our family had a great time enjoying your home:)
The kids and I had a wonderful trip! The house and pool are lovely and Chris was very helpful with anything we needed. We loved it so much we hope to return next year.
Chris was the best host: very communicative before arrival and during the stay, flexible, generous and accommodating. The villa is beautifully styled, expansive and clean, coming stocked with plenty of modern amenities, air-conditioning and towels.
The upstairs palapa and hammocks were perfect for siestas, and the pool offered a refreshing respite from the sun. The villa offers striking views to the ocean and there's plenty of wildlife about to enjoy.
It's well-situated, being very close to the heart of Sayulita, but protected from the hustle and bustle. Expect a less than five-minute walk down to the town centre, although be prepared for the steep climb back up if you're not driving (especially after a few margaritas)! This was my first experience of Mexico and I'm already planning my next trip back - to Casa Tres Vistas, of course.
Chris was an excellent host and was very easy to communicate with leading up to and during our trip. Everything went off without a hitch - from finding the place to getting in to our stay. The house was spacious, clean, full of all the modern amenities, etc. Everything is as advertised and in a nice neighborhood on top of the hill. Great views and huge deck with pool all very close in to town. If you don't have a car or a golf cart, be prepared for a solid walk up and down gringo hill - it's not overbearing, but the heat can make it quite a sweaty climb!
Christina has a beautiful home and is not only easy to communicate prior to the trip but also incredibly responsive and sweet throughout your stay. I visited for 5 days and with three other guests- we had plenty of space, towels, a/c, filtered water, paper towels, I mean.. The list goes on. It was a very comfortable stay in a beautiful town. I would recommend this house to anyone who wants to be close enough to town for convenient shopping and dining but far enough away not to hear the bar noise. Thank you again Christina, we had such a good time :)
SAYULITA DREAM!! This place is a gem!! It was a beautiful oasis with stunning views and complete comfort. It was nice to come home to this place after a long day in town. Everyone took to the hammocks, pool and outdoor lounge area. We didn't want to leave. Christina was a great host. When she found out that we had young kids staying at the house, she came over with pool toys:) Can't say enough good things about what an amazing place Casa Tres Vistas was.
My friends and I stayed in Sayulita at the end of April for 7 days celebrating my bachelor party with some good surfing and serious chilling on the beach. This was the first time I had used AirBnB but I was amazed at how smooth the process went with Christina. Prior to our arrival the communication was perfect - all of our questions were answered promptly and she made sure we had all the info we needed to get from the PVR airport to Casa Tres Vistas very easily.
The pictures do not do this place justice. The views, outdoor areas, and indoor living spaces are all incredible. Well attended, clean, and comfy. I can definitely say we spent the majority of our time around the pool and lanai. It is such a rad place to play cards, drink margs, and watch the sun go down.
The walk up to the house from the beach/town takes all of 5 minutes. It is a bit steep on the way up but it makes you appreciate the house all the more when you get there.
Thanks again Chris for everything - we are already planning our trip back!
Ciao and gracias!
Beautiful house. We arrived a little early and were allowed to settle in. On check out we were allowed to leave our luggage for the day to enjoy more beach time. Peaceful location, lots of birds and views. Great place!
What a great place! The house absolutely lived up to expectations - beautiful, comfortable bedrooms; lovely outdoor spaces; peaceful solitude that was also close to town and to the beach. Christina was also tremendously helpful and communicative, both before and after our visit. She was a great and attentive host, who most definitely went beyond. A paradise - we hope to visit again.
