Beautiful duplex unit with newer amenities, across from park yet close to I-5, downtown, bus, and light rail. Peaceful yet urban-convenient!
Beautiful newer 2bd, 1.5 bath duplex unit. Very light and open "great room" comprised of big kitchen/din rm, living room...and french doors to patio table in side yard with park outlook. Gorgeous hardwood floors, high ceilings, half bath and laundry on main. Enjoy the park with trees, tennis courts and brand new all-access play area! Duplex sits on "bike boulevard", one of a few which encourage cyclist routes around town, so lots of foot/bike traffic, not many cars. Bus is one block away, light rail, coffee, and New Seasons (whole and organic foods) 6 blocks away. 10 minutes to downtown, and cycling takes about 20 minutes! 2 minutes to I-5 by car. Peaceful, luxurious setting to rest and regroup on your trip. I can recommend some of the restaurants Portland is known for, or tell you what's happening in our town filled with great musicians who live here for the quality of life!
My place is unique because it's in a great neighborhood across from one park (Arbor Lodge) and a block from another (Gammons Park) with old-growth trees, swings, and picnic tables. It feels peaceful, and yet it's close to virtually ALL the popular Portland scenes, not to mention Vancouver, Washington, the Columbia River Gorge, the Coast and downtown Portland. I live here because I find it inspiring for my music and writing. Welcome! And I hope you're inspired by your stay. If I can improve on your visit in any way, let me know!
You have access to stove, refrigerator, washer/dryer, attached garage, and a small outdoor space just outside the double doors to the dining room. And of course, the park (which has tennis courts, pesticide-free off-leash dog area, and a nice "all access" playground, plus soccer field and 2 baseball fields).
I live next door, where I'll be if you need something...but I'll be invisible if you don't!
The neighborhood is wonderful...between two parks, on bike boulevard, and close to light rail and bus. 10 minutes downtown, 2 minutes to I-5, 8 minutes to Vancouver, Washington, 6 minutes to Swan Island. New Seasons, Green Zebra. University of Portland and Adidas within walking distance!
Bus is not even a block away, and light rail (MAX) is 5 blocks. Easy peasy!
Very nice setting...quiet and lovely outlook to park.

Sandi is a very trusting person, allowing us to rent her home and look after her cats while we vacationed and she visited family out of town. Her house is comfortable, well-appointed and close to everything we needed, from buses to groceries to restaurants, and there were plenty of brochures and books about the city and state.
My mom and I each have some food issues, and it was a tremendous relief to be able to cook our own meals. The house is not cluttered, and everything we needed was pretty easy to find. We also enjoyed watching the people in the park across the street while we prepared and ate our meals! Having access to a washer and dryer allowed us to pack light, another plus.
A bit of advice -- watch your toes when Simon (the white cat) is about. He is not at all shy, and he likes to play!
Really nice house conveniently located opposite a lovely park in North Portland. Sitting outside in the evening was really nice. Comfortable beds...always a plus. Sandi is new to airbnb and one of her stipulations for renting out her entire home was that we would take care of her cats. Sandi didn't seem very comfortable renting her entire home. She seemed overly worried about someone else looking after her cats indicated by the fact that she called and came by the house at least 4 out of the 7 nights we stayed there.
Sandi was a great host and very friendly. If you are into cats and like a social host then this is the place for you. If you like a bit more privacy then possibly look elsewhere.
The house and location were perfect for us. We were visiting grown children and grandkids, with lots of planned activities and busy days. The park offered a beautiful spot to walk. The house was very clean and comfortable.
The one difficulty was Sandi's expectations about our care for her cats. We did everything she asked in terms of their food, but we did not expect her requests for frequent reports about whether we had seen them and their eating habits. Her ad describes the cats as highly independent. It was a vacation for us, and we were not checking messages every day. I think Sandi wanted us to be in close contact, and this did not match our plans for a reunion with our large family.
