Listing highlights

Handcrafted geodesic dome

A handcrafted geodesic dome with soaring ceilings, a spiral staircase, and a loft overlooking the open main floor

A truly one-of-a-kind stay

Guests consistently praise the craftsmanship, calling it one of the most unique stays they've experienced
Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape. The dome is sitting 25 yards from a 200 year old granite quarry. It is in the center of endless adventure possibilities, or it can be a peaceful sanctuary and place to heal.

Other things to note
A word of caution. Do not attempt to use the stairs in the dark. There is a three way light switch to the left of the bureau in the loft. Down stairs the switch is to the left of the refrigerator. Descend and ascend using the hand rail. As with all spiral stair cases, you must walk on the wide part of the tread.

Neighborhood highlights

The neighborhood is rural. Only one house is visible from the "Bubble" (as many locals refer to my dome.) Most of the road leading to the dome is paved; the last 1/4 mile of the road is well maintained gravel. The bubble is very close to an abandoned quarry, which is a neighborhood feature. There is a trail that winds along the rim of the "water fill" quarry. The depth of the quarry is around 30'. The trail is relatively short but ends at a wonderful vista (a windmill marks the end of the trail.) There are many options for biking and hiking straight from the front door.

My work: retired building trades teacher
Lives in Hardwick, Vermont
Hello and welcome! I am a retired building trades teacher from Vermont. I have always wanted to build a geodesic dome house and have finally had the time to do so. This has been an adventure in creative construction, and I am happy to share this space with you! Besides building, my interests include mountain biking, kayaking, snowboarding and, most recently, natural beekeeping.
