About this listing
This is a private studio apartment and not just a room. It has a complete kitchen, full bath, sitting/dining area, A/C, TV, WiFi and a shared swimming pool. There is a queen size bed and we add a single bed when there is a third guest.
Our property sits on a hillside overlooking a lush green valley and the beautiful Pacific ocean below. It is very private and secure with a gated entrance and is still less than a 10 minute walk to town.
If El Rancho isn't available for your specific dates, please view our other 4 apartments that are spread out on the property. Simply click on our photograph and than look on the lower left side of the new page to see them.
This beautiful large 1 room efficiency is located over the open patio below, allowing it to catch refreshing ocean breezes and give you some of the most amazing sunsets ever!! It is very spacious and comfortable with a queen size bed, sofa, chairs and it's own bathroom and kitchenette. You also have your own private balcony, where you can relax and watch the boats move in and out of the harbor. For those rare days when the breezes and ceiling fan aren't enough just kick back and turn on the air conditioning, or go downstairs with your favorite tropical drink and cool off in our refreshing pool, or just doze off in the hammock.
When you do pull yourself away from our wonderful location, it's only a 10 minuet walk to downtown Quepos. There you will find restaurants, gift shops, clothing stores, pharmacy's, live music and more. You will also find taxi's and buses readily available. You can also visit our local farmers market on Friday and Saturday, where you can purchase fresh fruits, vegetables, baked goods and more. They set up right along the ocean's edge, only a 5 minute walk from our property .
We have many beautiful beaches in the area, including our world famous Manuel Antonio National Park. There are many other activities here such as, white water rafting, sunset cruises, surfing, horseback riding on the beach, world famous sport fishing and much more. Marta was very gracious and helpful during our stay! The views are just breathtaking. I loved waking up and going out to the balcony and listening to the sounds of nature. We even saw monkeys hopping around the trees. We only traveled by taxi to and from the place. It's a bit of a hike to get up to the place but a small price for the gorgeous views. We also hung out in the pool once on a particularly hot day. We cooked our own food a lot in the kitchen. The AC is cold. Everything was great.
Staying at el rancho with Douglas & Marta was a wonderful experience the were very helpful and wonderful to deal with I would highly recommend them to anybody thinking of visiting quepos
Beautiful view of the marina and habor, we did not want to leave! Marta and Douglas did a great job welcoming us and provided very specific directions to get to the place. We rented a car and drove from San Jose (about 2.5-3 hours drive). Make sure to stop at Tarcoles and see the crocodiles. The hill is a bit steep getting to the place, but as we found out- that's just Costa Rica! The house is about a 10 minute walk to Quepos - there is a short cut to walk down the hill Marta pointed out to us. We drove into Manuel Antonio a few times, which was around a 15 minute drive. Marta and Douglas were not intrusive, yet around if we needed anything. They cleaned the place about halfway through our trip, which was a nice touch. You will hear noises at night - monkeys, birds, occasional roosters, etc. We got used to them pretty quickly, but just be prepared as this area is full of beautiful wildlife. We used one of Marta's tour recommendations and it panned out to be a great day! Would not hesitate to stay at Casa Parga/El Rancho again if the opportunity arises.
El Rancho appartement van Marta was een zeer fijne plek om daar paar dagen te verblijven. Zeer dicht bij het stadje Quepos en tegelijkertijd gelegen ook op een stille en mooie plek. Prima gastvrijheid en service.
We’ve passed an absolutly amazing time in Casa Pargo. The Pool with the stuning view is fantastic, the bar next to the pool is so cozy and there are beers and other beverages in the fridge. You have also the opportunity to mix some drinks and eat your food there too. Martha and Douglas are so friendly and helpfully, they live in Casa Pargo too. They gave us some good advice where to go in the evenig.
Our Room was so nice, with a small kitchen in it and a couch on the balcony. To drink a beer on the couch and looking to the ocean is amazing. The employe from Martha and Douglas, sadly we forgot his name, did a perfect job. Our room was clean all the time as well as all the lavatorys, the pool and the bar in Casa Pargo.
If you go to Quepos, this is the best place to stay there.
This was a fantastic stay and was better than I could have imagined. The balcony was amazing and had breakfast each morning on it admiring the scenery. Marta and Douglas made sure we had everything we needed.

About the Host, Marta And Douglas
I have a very outgoing personality and love to dance, cook and laugh. I enjoy meeting and helping people. I love to travel throughout my country and other countries as well. My husband Douglas and I have been married for 25 years and have two daughters, Bianca 23 and Sandy 18. Both girls attend the university in San Jose. Both Douglas and I were born and raised in Quepos and we think that with all of the lovely areas in Costa Rica, that the Quepos/Manuel Antonio are is the most beautiful.
I like to dance and cook as well. Although I am not as outgoing as my wife, I do enjoy meeting other people. I have worked for the national electric company "ICE for 27 years as a maintenance supervisor. I like to travel and enjoy seeing other areas of our beautiful country. We slowly built on our property over the years and enjoy sharing it with others. Now with the pool and rancho completed I think we are finally finished.
