Sunny, romantic bedroom, living room & private bathroom suite on top floor of beautiful Brooklyn brownstone. Room faces garden with trees at the windows and skylight over the bed. One block from park, this historic street is featured in many movies.
On the top floor of one of Brooklyn's most historic townhouses, I have a sunny, airy bedroom/bathroom and living-room suite available.
Queen bed, private bathroom, living room with sofa and wifi access. Decorated in cream and sky-blue with wood floors. Private door gives access to all three rooms - this is a hotel suite in a private house.
Perfect for a couple, or a couple with a small child. Friends can share the space easily too. Small dogs welcome.
Close to 5 major subway lines, and only 15 minutes from Manhattan mid-town. We are one block from the Farmer's market and beautiful Fort Greene park. The area is full of funky restaurants, coffee shops and good people.
We are a friendly and welcoming English family, with a dog, cat and two older children. The house is huge and we are great hosts.
For drivers, we usually park on the street outside.
Bedroom, bathroom, private living room attached, hallway access. There is no kitchen access, but there is a small fridge and coffeemaker in the room.
There is plenty of storage space for clothes and items. We find that most of our guests don't really unpack fully, but there are drawers for your use in the chest of drawers and hangars and hooks for clothes. Please note that some of our family items are also stored in the chest of drawers in the room - if you would like extra space it is no trouble to remove them :) Please let us know if you need an iron.
Hairdryer and hair irons provided. We also have a selection of plugs if you forget something vital.
There is excellent free wif-fi in the room.
Hot water all day and all night, as much as you need. The shower has a lovely over-size head and great pressure. The bathroom is charming but not renovated as that is a complicated process on the top floor of such an old building. It is scrupulously clean, and the room is thoroughly cleaned by a service between each visitor.
The room is quiet, as it faces the back of the block into the gardens. It is bright and sunny and faces East.
Interaction with Guests
I am here most days for advice or questions - my family lives in the rest of the house.
I try to always be here when people check in. If not, Airbnb has given us a lockbox so you can access keys. It is very rare to have to use it. I am generally not here when guests leave due to work schedule.
Corresponding via text or the Airbnb app is convenient and I always have my phone with me.
I have lived here for a long time now, and I love this area. If you are here on the weekend, the two markets you should visit are The Brooklyn Flea and the Farmer's Market. It is a great area to eat and drink in - there are lots of fun bars and a variety of restaurants within 2 blocks. Many of our guests spend the day sight-seeing, come home to rest and then have dinner in Brooklyn.
5 major subway lines within 7 minute walk. Parking on street.
I would like you to be courteous if you come in after midnight, but expect my guests to be out having a good time in New York! You won't bother us and should not feel awkward about coming in late. We leave you alone as much as you would like to be - we have busy lives and are in and out of the house on our own schedules, so there is no pressure on you. We really don't hear you come in and out.
Checkout is at 12pm, which is when the cleaning service is scheduled. I can hold bags during the day if we discuss ahead of time, and if there is no booking later that day we can adjust the checkout time occasionally. We like to be as flexible as possible for our guests.
No smoking at any time. No candles or incense.
Pets allowed on a case by case basis.
We loved Natalie and her beautiful home! Once we arrived, her children helped us carry our bags to the room, and Natalie offered to make us a cup of tea. The bedroom, sitting room and bathroom we're all as advertised. The house is quiet and serene. But what made our stay even better was Natalie. She made sure we had everything we needed and answered our texts immediately. We would love to come back.
We spent a week here and have to say the Natalie and the room were both brilliant. It’s a lovely suite separate to the rest of the house, with tons of space and an amazing bed!
Natalie was a wonderful host, and although we didn't see much of her as we were a lot of the time, she and her family made us feel very welcome in their home. Natalie responded to all our questions before we arrived and made sure everything was set up for when we got there.
The house is in a great part of Brooklyn and only a short walk to the subway, which gets you into Manhattan very quickly. Natalie provided us with some brilliant recommendations of places to eat and drink nearby and we had a great time exploring the local area.
We had an amazing time here and would definitely recommending it!
Natalie was very welcoming when we arrived. The two rooms were simply but tastefully and artistically furnished. It all looked very welcoming
We were rather cold the first night, but once we mentioned it to Natalie she remade the bed with heavier and warmer coverings and adjusted the AC. ( apparently the previous tenant had requested that the room be kept cool and it had not been adjusted for our arrival)
On our last night, we asked Natalie if our son, who had been in a hotel which could not accommodate him for the final night, could sleep on the sofa. She kindly agreed and even gave us extra sheets and blankets for him
Certainly going above and beyond. Thank you Natalie, we really enjoyed our time in your house
There was a mixup checking in so no one was there to let us in at 5:00 so we had to return after dinner. We did not get a key so we did not go back until quite late the next day. As a result we spent little time there. The bed was comfortable, there was plenty of hot water, and the neighborhood is great. I think 5:00 pm is a bit late for check-in and finding no one there then was a problem. A key would have been great so we could go in and out when no one was there.
This was my first time using Airbnb, and it was a good experience overall. Natalie was quick to respond to the booking and my few questions prior to arrival, and friendly and personable when we met. The listing was as described; it has character and it is clean. The neighbourhood is nice, with good access to the subway and plenty of dining options nearby.
The suite was delightful, clean, well-furnished, comfortable and quiet!
Natalie is an excellent host and struck the perfect balance between providing me with any information and assistance I needed and leaving me in peace to enjoy her nice suite.
The lodgings and neighborhood were as described in the ad. Very nice, spacious room and very clean. Also, quiet--no street noise. Hot water and heat worked just fine. The kids are charming --offered to carry our bags up and down the stairs and Natalie herself was very helpful. Great little restaurants within walking distance. Overall an excellent experience. It was like staying at a faculty member's house-- not glitzy but rather homey and personally decorated.
