This cozy room has a comfortable queen-sized bed, a private bathroom, and your own entrance. Walkable to Downtown and the River Arts District. Very close to the Biltmore Estate and West Asheville. Easy parking. People of Color & white people welcome; LGBTQ & straight friendly. Dogs too, but not on the bed. (Read our pet policy below!)

The space
Simple, clean and comfy w/ queen-sized bed, private bath, good shower, fridge, microwave, coffee-maker, & wireless internet. Breakfast is on your own, but why eat in your room when Foodtopia awaits you?

We are LGBTQ and straight friendly. People of Color and white people are welcome.

Our home is a land partner in Patchwork Urban Farms growing perennial food forest. We’ve prioritized cultivating pollinator habitat and building soil over manicuring a lawn.

We are an easy walk or bike to the River Arts District (less than 1/2 mile) and Downtown (1/2 mile to Southslope, then another few blocks to Pritchard Park). It's downhill all the way home from downtown :) You can bike to West Asheville (less than 2 miles) or UNCA (about 3 miles). We're also really close to Biltmore Village and the entrance to the Biltmore Estate (less than 2 miles).

Pet friendly for dogs with well-behaved humans (**see notes below re: dogs). There’s a small additional fee for pets to cover the extra cleaning required to ensure all hair and allergens are removed.

We love Asheville & love to help others love it too. We're happy to offer guidance and suggestions or to leave you to have your own experience. Check out our guidebook for this listing.

Our place is simple and affordable but with the added bonus of a private bath and private entrance. You will be welcome and comfortable here.

(**A note for visitors with dogs: I love dogs. Absolutely love 'em. I don't provide a crate, and your dog cannot be on the bed. Yes, I will know. If your dog is normally allowed on the bed at home, then they are going to hop on the bed at some point during your stay. So please just be honest about that and I will provide coverings for the bedding in case they jump. They’re still not welcome to hang out on the bed.

If your dog has never stayed in a crate before this won’t be a good place to get him or her used to it. Try it at home first. I prefer you not leave your dog here while you're gone. They tend to feel stressed in a strange place, hearing strange noises. So please be prepared to take your dog with you when you go out. Asheville is a very dog-friendly town. Lot's of places with outdoor seating and a few that allow dogs inside. When you arrive there will likely be a moment of excitement when your dog meets our dog, Minnie. Expect barking and sniffing. It's a good idea to let your dog have a walk across the street after traveling and the excitement of meeting another dog in a new place. Thanks!)

Where you’ll be

Asheville, North Carolina, United States

The South French Broad neighborhood is on the south-west fringes of downtown so it's easy to get most anywhere in Asheville. I love the urban stream right across the street, the proximity to the river and how it's perfectly situated to be a leading area for urban sustainability and urban agriculture.

I enjoy a a large and wonderful community here in Western NC. I live with my super-cute dog, Minnie, and sometimes an upstairs tenant. I have two businesses. I have a Celebrant practice and a Consulting practice. A Celebrant is a ceremony specialist. I'm also an ordained Inter-faith Minister. ( So if you want to get married while you're here, I can help you out with that too! Find out more about that and the other types of ceremonies I help people create by googling Asheville Celebrant. My other business is Circle Forward Partners, where I coach, train and facilitate groups in collaborative governance. I am passionate about urban sustainability and I'm a land-owner partner in Patchwork Urban Farms. I love swimming and floating in natural bodies of water. I enjoy, sewing, yoga and spending time with my friends and neighbors. I love my town so I'm happy to give you tips and directions or just leave you to your own devices. Look forward to meeting you in person! Happy Day! Michelle

Both the laundry room and my personal bedroom are downstairs but those spaces are separate from this space. The bathroom is yours alone.
