The Space

Tiny cabin hidden under the canopy of a great oak. Cabin built to resemble a yacht with an upper and lower level. It has a full kitchen and full bath. Yes, cable, wifi, and all that you need for a fun and unusual stay between the beaches of the Atlantic ocean and historic downtown savannah Georgia. My guest love it's intimacy and return often for special escapes.

  • Cozy listing in quiet location was excellent for our small group. Communication with the host was stellar, very fast even across time zones. Everything was very clean, stocked with amenities for the traveler and generally welcoming upon arrival. Highly recommended!

  • Great place, loved that it was a short drive to Tybee and Savannah. Cute cabin, perfect for a vacation stay for me and my friend. There were an awful lot of cockroaches in the house, but maybe they are more common in the south?? We killed at least one each day :( A little disturbing! It was a lovely place, my only frustration was the price discrepancy. The listing showed that staying a week would cost $550, but when we followed the process to book our week the price changed to $650, plus the airbnb fees. When I asked the owner about the price difference she said the website was wrong. It seems entirely unfair to list one price and then charge a higher price, instead of the price advertised. Very deceiving! The listing also states that there are a washer and dryer in the cabin, but there is not. We packed clothes planning to wash them and re-wear them but ended up SOL. But overall good experience.

    Response from Bev:

sorry, there was a washer/dryer in the laundry room on the property. we have had a problem with palmetto bugs due to all the wet weather. they are not a cockroach, often mistaken, terminex was out there just before you checked in for their quarterly inspection. the bug is common to the south and is a vegetarian tree bug. as for the price, i am still confused, airbnb has the rate presented, i do not control difference of price. i wish you would have communicated with me to satisfy your needs and questions. airbnb can probably give you more insight into the pricing, i do not regulate it. i have it priced at 115. a night.

  • We enjoyed our stay in this compact and comfortable property. Bev, the owner, was quick to respond to the couple questions we had and was always quite pleasant and helpful. The cabin was as shown in the listing. Our only problem was in finding the location after dark - a light or sign on the mailbox would have been very helpful. We would recommend this cabin to others who are looking for a small space in a quiet location.

  • Bev's cabin was a great place to stay in Savannah. The cabin's location is about 20 minutes from the historic district and the drive is very pleasant. We also found the neighborhood very impressive - lots of beautiful mansions and resorts. The cabin was very sufficient for its size and we were very happy with it. We had efficient communication with Bev and she was respectful of our privacy. We would definitely stay here again!

  • This little cabin was perfect, exactly as described! We had a wonderful stay- it really is like staying on a small ship! Everything was clean, labeled, and set out for us, and Bev was easy to get ahold of. Great!

  • A nice cosy cabin in a lovely area with easy access to Savannah and Tybee (20 mins in the car to each). We had a lovely break here.

  • The setting was just marvelous, as advertised. Quiet, serene, beautiful, private, with moss-draped live oaks right outside the windows. Driving there was easy, parking was a cinch, and access to the rental was smooth. The convenience of being between Savannah and Tybee was excellent.

The kitchen and bathroom were both quite usable, though the kitchen was a tight space (if you use a wheelchair for example), but it indeed had the boat-galley feel just as advertised. One quirky thing I couldn't figure out: there is an open-air space window between the shower and the kitchen. We felt the need to cover it up for privacy. This we achieved with a blanket. We had one concern about the availability of towels. Apparently there had been an oversight, but Bev took care of this within a short time of us contacting her.

Upstairs has a commode! So you don't have to climb down the spiral staircase to "go #1" at night. This is a great feature. The bed is on the floor—this is due to space and roof design—it’s a lot like camping. So if you are young, or young at heart, this is not a problem. Besides, there were multiple choices of where/how to sleep. The coziness and décor—inside and out—were just what I wanted and had hoped for. I will definitely visit again!

  • My sister and I had a great time at the cottage! We really enjoyed being in a residential area (we felt like a local!) and it was super close to Tybee and easy to get to Savannah. The location could not have been better!

The cottage itself is quite cute! There are two futons in addition to the loft bed, so there are plenty of sleeping areas to accommodate needs. The bed would be hard to fit two people on due to the sloping wall, but we managed fine! We took turns alternating between the bed and various futons. We had no problems and slept comfortably all weekend!

The bathroom is nice and spacious, the kitchen area was effective, and the overall space is great! We appreciated the full size fridge. Also, Bev has everything labeled, which it made it easy to know what light switch controlled what light.

It's the little details that make this cottage special! I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a different place to stay in the Savannah area. We had a great time!

Bev is a quiet, but gracious host! I had no issues with communication and she was helpful in informing us up front of any possible issues that we might face.

Career of 30 years as a product designer. I started collecting resort property in 2000 using my eye for design with a story to tell. I starting hosting before that in the 70's with a Victorian resort hotel in the ozark mountins. So I guess you could say I've been serving up rooms with a view over half my life. I believe in the traveler and respect their needs for the comforts of home, cleanliness, and adventurous delight. I find pleasure in presenting my guest with good art, unexpected visuals, more amenities than home, sprinkled with a few hidden treasures that spark one's imagination or take you to a special place in your mind's eye.
