La Veranda offers privacy, relaxation and a serene mountain vista from its wrap-around veranda. Located on a hill just three miles from historic Sonoma Plaza. Full gourmet kitchen with panoramic views, two king bedrooms appointed with fine linens, down pillows and luxurious comforters. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. For those who can't quite leave all work behind, there is a fully-equipped private office.

The space
Perched on a hill above the Valley of the Moon and with vineyards nearby, La Veranda offers easy living -- a quiet spot to escape, relax and enjoy life. Soak up the panoramic views from the fabulous wrap-around veranda and allow Sonoma's paradise to unfold before you.
The house is elegantly furnished and provides space to unwind, relax and restore for up to four people. The cushy sofas and comfortable beds are designed to lure one into long naps and deep sleeps while the well-tended gardens are quiet and beautiful. However, there are also plenty of activities available for the adventurous soul. During the day, tour the fabulous vineyards everywhere, walk around the historic Sonoma Plaza, enjoy a massage at the nearby Mission Inn & Spa (natural hot springs) or explore in Jack London State Park and hike up Sonoma Mountain.
Come evening, enjoy a relaxing game of bocce, grill outside, watch a peaceful sunset across the valley and spend a calm evening among our olive trees laced with enchanting lights.
After a completely restful night in the super comfortable king beds with organic linens, it's delightful to enjoy your leisurely morning coffee on the veranda as the valley slowly awakens below and hummingbirds zip from flower to flower. Each bedroom has its own private luxury bathroom with a marble shower, bidet toilet, designer Mexican-tiled floor and a no-fog heated mirror!
For your entertainment and convenience, La Veranda has a 55" smart TV with essential cable channels, Roku services and access to Netflix (use your own login). Our Wi-Fi is fast (475+ Mbps).
For guests with electric vehicles, we have a free 40 amp 10kW Level 2 charger for your use. It has a standard J1772 plug and is also Tesla-compatible with our provided adapter. Powered by our rooftop solar panels!
Lastly ... for those who can't quite leave all work behind, there is a well-equipped private office located in our garage building just ten feet away from the house. Spacious with lots of natural light from two large windows (see photos). Air conditioned and heated. The office is perfect for private calls, video meetings and focused work. Fast (475 Mbps) internet access via WiFi or wired Cat-5 connection. Twin monitors, USB-C docking station/charger, keyboard, mouse, Canon MX492 printer/scanner, paper shredder. All you might need. Just remember to make some time for wine-tasting!
Guest access
Guests have exclusive access to the main part of the house on the second floor with its private entrance and large wrap-around veranda. Please be aware that the stairs and veranda railings may not be suitable for small children or individuals with mobility issues. The outside staircase shown in the main photo is the primary access to the front door. Guests also have 24/7 access to the detached well-equipped office located in the garage just ten feet from the house. The air-conditioned/heated office has large windows and lots of light. There is a small private one-bedroom unit on the ground floor with a separate entrance but it is only used by the owner during occasional visits (it is never rented).
Other things to note
Peace & Quiet: VERY IMPORTANT! Please respect the Sonoma quiet hours ordinance from 9pm - 7am -- and NO amplified music outdoors is allowed at any time.
Sounds carries easily on our hillside so please speak softly, especially when returning from a late dinner out. Our neighborhoods go to bed early and we love the peace. Guests will, too.
No Smoking: We have a strict no smoking policy on the entire property, including outside.
No Pets: Pets are not allowed because a number of our repeat guests and family members have severe pet allergies. If you have an assistance animal, we strongly suggest looking for another property without such sensitivities.
Arrival & Departure: Check-in time is 3pm and check-out time is 11am. Please be respectful of the check-out time because our super housekeeper works very hard to clean and prepare La Veranda for the next guests.
Parking: Our hillside home's driveway provides ample off-street parking and turnaround room for up to three cars. We recommend turning around at the bottom of our driveway before leaving.
Please note that street parking is NOT allowed directly in front of our house (this is a Sonoma County ordinance because the road is narrow) but street parking is allowed where the road is wider, just 50 yards further up the hill.
Security Cameras: There are outside security cameras monitoring the house perimeter and the front steps. There is also one security camera in the detached garage that’s pointed at our car.
Emergency Prep: Each bedroom has a smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarm. There is a first aid kit in the balcony bedroom's bathroom. There is an operational VoIP telephone and a battery-operated NOAA weather alert radio in the kitchen.
