House built in 2006 gives you a fresh and modern place to stay in an historic town. Please contact me if you'd like the whole house and I will send you a special offer-
I have a two bedroom, one bath home downtown Charleston within walking distance of the city center and Hampton Park. My home was built in 2006 so you will be staying in a relatively new home downtown, which is quite unique. I have a spare bedroom with a queen memory foam bed, fireplace and a piano- room is regular sized. My home has a washer and dryer and all of the modern and regular amenities you would expect (no microwave). Kitchen, bath, living room- etc..
Plenty of street parking and I also have bikes. I can rent just a room or the entire house.
Everything is provided.
Charleston is an amazing city!
Rent the extra room for whatever the calender price is--add another 100 for the whole house per night.
Renting the entire house allows for 4 people to stay comfortably. Please contact me if you'd like the entire house and I will send a special offer.
If just renting a room- guests have access to everything except my personal bedroom. If they rent the whole house they have access to everything.
There is a porch which leads to the front door and is easily accessable.
Interaction with Guests
If you are renting just the room I may be around, but very little. If you rent the entire house obviously you won't see me at all. I do like meeting people so if you are interested in meeting up for a beer or going for a sail I certainly won't hesitate.
The neighborhood is a mix of young professionals, family's that have been here for decades and medical university students. It is primarily residential with a few great restaurants nearby.
Leons Oyster Bar
Moe's Crosstwon Pub
The Recovery Room
Butcher and Bee
All right around the corner
Also a climbing gym a block away as well as Hampton park.
The Citadel-all a ten minute walk.
The bars, restaurants and shops of King Street are a 10 minute walk to the beginning.
Yes there is public transit and I am two blocks from a main bus line, though I prefer walking or bikes (which I provide)
Other Things to Note
Please be advised that the guest bedroom has a memory foam mattress.
Cleanliness and consideration!
Bryan was very accommodating to our needs. The apartment was exactly as described and quite clean. Use of the bikes and washer/dryer was an added bonus and allowed us to enjoy all that downtown Charleston has to offer.
Bryan was a most welcoming host and the house was clean, neat and charming! Bryan helped us with restaurant recommendations and there were some wonderful places within walking distance. It was a delight to stay in a real home and a real neighborhood. The temperpedic mattress in the bedroom was super comfy and it was very quiet at night. We enjoyed some outside time in the shared patio area and on the entryway porch.
This was my first trip to Charleston, along with my girlfriend. We chose to stay at Bryan's place rather than at a downtown hotel and we ended up being very happy with our decision. We rented the guest room and found the bed perfectly comfortable and everything clean. Bryan was not around while we were there, which meant we had the whole house to ourselves (besides the master bedroom). It was great to have a living room and kitchen at our disposal, which we would not have had at a hotel. And renting Bryan's place was much cheaper. Bryan made it clear that if we needed anything, we could call him, and he stuck to his word on that and everything else.
As for location, Bryan's house is a 15-20 minute walk to King St/Meeting St, where all the "stuff" is - restaurants, bars, etc. The immediate neighborhood is in a bit of a transition, but we never felt very uncomfortable or in danger. Besides walking, we used Uber to get around, mostly at night, and it was no problem. Bryan offered use of a few bikes, but we didn't end up taking him up on the offer.
Lastly, Bryan offered to give us a lift back to the airport on the day we left, and we took him up on it. We really appreciated it and he seemed like a good guy on our ride.
All in all, very glad we chose to stay here, and we would absolutely do it agan.
Bryan was extremely easy to communicate with and responsive within a short while. Very friendly guy. The place was very clean and as described. Location is convenient to Charleston activities, just a few blocks from the Citadel and Medical Center and the north end of King Street, which is where the locals hang out for a good time. For my wife and me, the memory foam mattress on the bed was very comfortable-we'd never used one before. The living spaces are comfortable and ample, however there is not a really comfortable place to sit and eat, other than at the coffee table. The kitchen and appliances are all like new. Bryan has close to a million knives, but is a bit lacking on cookware. There are a few pots and pans, a wok, but no frying pan that we could find. It's a bachelor kitchen . We rode Bryan's bikes all around town our first afternoon there, which is a nice benefit.
I would wholeheartedly recommend this place to others and come back again myself.
We had a terrific stay in Charleston and we lucky to have such a great place to stay. Bryan's house was very comfortable and we felt welcomed. We would love to return!
We had a great time in Charleston! Bryan's home was a great place to stay - it was clean and in an ideal location!
We arrived to a house that came as described in a location that proved an excellent launching point for enjoying Charleston. Thanks for a great stay, Bryan!
