"La Casita" Pool and Ocean Views

Villa - Entire home/apt · Quepos, Puntarenas, Costa Rica

The Space

Casita means little house in Spanish, La Casita is a 2 story house with a kitchen, sitting area, full bath and a outside balcony with jungle views on the first floor. The upper floor has the bedroom, 2nd bath and outside balcony with great ocean views.

If La Casita isn't available for your specific dates, please view our other 4 apartments that are spread out on the property. Simply click on our photograph and than look on the lower left side of the new page to see them.

Our property is very private and secure, with a gated entrance. It sits on a hillside overlooking a lush green valley, with unbelievable sunset views over the ocean and marina. It is less than a 10 minute walk to central Quepos where you can find everything you need, food markets, restaurants, gift shops, clothing, taxi's, buses and more. You can visit our local farmers market every Friday and Saturday where you can buy fresh fruits, vegetables, home baked goods or a cold fresh coconut to drink. Quepos has it's own hospital and airport with numerous daily commuter flights.

You can jump into the pool to cool off, swing in a hammock under the large covered patio, or play a game of cards while you watch the boats go into and out of the harbor, or watch the monkey's play on one of their frequent visits.

The beautiful Manuel Antonio National Park and it's world famous beaches are only a short taxi or bus ride away.

My husband and I live on the property and are always available to help make your vacation a memorable one.

If you would like, we can provide private transportation to and from San Jose and help arrange all of your tours to help make your Costa Rica Vacation unforgettable.

  • Marta was amazing in 2 ways before I even stayed at her lovely BNB. 1st: I left a shirt on a tour in La Fortuna and they transferred it to Quepos. Marta drove and picked it up for me and handed it to me upon checking in 2nd: I got lost in Quepos after a long, bumpy ride from Monteverde and she hopped in her SUV and guided me to her property. I was so impressed with her service before I had even seen the property.

The property is amazing! My girlfriend and I loved it and loved meeting other travelers at the bar/pool. The pool was warm and the view of the marina and sunset were unforgettable. "La Casita" was so nice and private, with 2 private patios and a unique layout. It was a joy waking up to the sounds and view.

Quick drive into downtown Quepos and about 20 minutes to Manuel Antonio National Park. Liked being secluded but close to "the action."

I recommend La Casita and especially Marta and Doug to any Quepos travelers. You will not be disappointed.

  • We just got home from Marta's and already miss the warmth of "La Casita". Marta is an amazing host, always there to help you organize transportation and offer suggestions of places to go. Marta was very responsive with all my requests and had a taxi waiting for us at Quepos to bring us to "La Casita", it was such a pleasure after a long trip to see my name on that little piece of paper. The bar in front with the pool is very refreshing after a day of walking around town, manuel antonio or wherever you decide to journey. The rooms are very spacious and clean... best nights sleep I had in a while. The kitchen in the room is fully stocked and clean and the water tastes great and is clean out of the faucet. The Local town market on Friday night and Saturday is so amazing to go through.. Wonderful people in Quepos.. starting with Marta and Douglas.

  • We absolutely loved our stay at Marta and Doug's. It was absolutely breathtaking scenery, the casita was clean, well equipped, and Marta made sure we had everything we needed. It is a little piece of heaven. The pool was immaculate and the perfect temperature. One of our favorite memories is the squirrel monkeys....we saw 25+ right off of our balcony. Incredible! Everyone was very friendly, there are additional guest houses with visitors who blended in and made our stay more interesting and enjoyable. We felt very safe in our casita, and will definitely make an effort to return.

  • What an excellent value! Perfect swimming pool, tidy, convenient kitchen, shower with a lovely "jungle view." Douglas and Marta knew that we would have our 2yo with us and a pack n play was already set up for us to use when we arrived.
    Best things about the place:
    Great value
    Beautiful view
Perfect size apartment for couple or couple + baby
    Excellent air conditioning
    Clean, fun pool
Convenient location if you have a car
Very safe parking if you have a car
Things to know about the casita:
(these aren't really minuses, but things we think would help other travelers):
Very steep climb up to the house - you'll probably need 4wd and if you have a manual transmission make sure you know how to use it!
The staircase is an open-style one - very pretty, but it made me nervous watching my toddler climb on it! Might be better for littler (less mobile) babies.
We were very pleased with our stay! Recommend especially for couples and those with little babies. :-)

  • Marta and Douglas are amazing hosts! They did everything they could to make our trip unforgettable, like booking tours for us or advising us about different activities and places. They even invited us to a lovely party with à few friends on our first day there! They are so welcoming and helpful!
The place itself is so beautiful! It's neet, charming and the view is incredible! You can watch the sunset from the pool or your balcony every night and never get bored. We also saw a LOT of monkeys there, probably as much (or more?) Than in the Manuel Antonio national park!!
We strongly recommand La Casa Pargo to every one and we would surely come back in the future!

    Thank you Marta and Douglas!

  • Absolutely perfect stay! Everything was even better than the pictures. It is in a great area and a friendly environment. Marta and Douglas were very helpful hosts. Cute monkeys and iguanas visited us daily. There is so much to do in the area. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Costa Rica. Pura Vida!

  • Avoid the crowds and hassles in Manuel Antonio! This house is conveniently located in Quepos and is an easy walk to town or the picturesque local beach (not for swimming but very scenic), although it is a steep walk back up! That hillside location provides an amazing view. I highly recommend "La Casita". The deck on the first floor faces trees and gets great morning sun - and is a great place to view monkeys passing through in the morning. The second floor deck facing the water is great for afternoon sun and has a convenient counter to eat on or work on your laptop. The kitchen is very well-equipped. There are ceiling fans plus AC. The pool is a few steps away and is a great place to hang out. Douglas and Marta were great hosts.

  • Marta was absolutely amazing! Incredibly accommodating. It was everything we expected and more. She helped us book our tours, our room was clean and comfortable. The pool was clean and lovely. The bar was beautiful. Marta suggested the best places to go for ceviche or drinks, or whatever we wished for. She even drove us around and helped us find someone to unlock our car when we locked the keys in! Amazing property, amazing host.

Douglas- I have worked for the electric company for 27 years
Marta I have a very outgoing personality and love to dance, cook and laugh. I enjoy meeting and helping people. I love to travel throughout my country and other countries as well. My husband Douglas and I have been married for 25 years and have two daughters, Bianca 23 and Sandy 18. Both girls attend the university in San Jose. Both Douglas and I were born and raised in Quepos and we think that with all of the lovely areas in Costa Rica, that the Quepos/Manuel Antonio are is the most beautiful. Douglas I like to dance and cook as well. Although I am not as outgoing as my wife, I do enjoy meeting other people. I have worked for the national electric company "ICE for 27 years as a maintenance supervisor. I like to travel and enjoy seeing other areas of our beautiful country. We slowly built on our property over the years and enjoy sharing it with others. Now with the pool and rancho completed I think we are finally finished.
