Silvano and Craig were the perfect hosts. They are warm, interesting and welcoming people full of fantastic tips and suggestions for exploring New York. We loved chatting with them and we were genuinely sad to leave. Their place is beautiful and the neighbourhood is fantastic - lots to do in terms of restaurants and bars as well as being a fantastic location for getting into Manhattan too. Also, their breakfasts are superb! Overall, it was a pleasure to meet and get to know Silvano and Craig and stay at their beautiful home.
I loved my stay at Silvano's. The location was perfect as the train station was less than 5 minutes away. The room was comfortable and tastefully decorated. And, having a private bathroom was a huge plus.
Craig and Silvano are great hosts. They are very professional.
They invited me to join them for breakfast each day, which was nice on their part.
The stay with Craig and Silvano has just been great! Silvano kept us updated before our travel, and Craig greeted us when we arrived and took his time to explain us everything. They have made this great list with recommendations, and the neighborhood is all you can dream of with restaurants, cafe´s and independent shops. The room is big and tastefully decorated with a private bathroom attached. It is facing the street, but the street is so quiet it´s hard to believe you´re in the middle of bustling Brooklyn. Every day started with a simple, but great breakfast prepared by Craig (Silvano was in Italy most of the week) and a long, wonderful conversation. They know so many languages and are so updated about everything from art to politics, it was such a joy to start the day there. The house is spectacularly cool, with this little wonderful garden where they even grow their own vegetables. The subway is really close, we walked to Manhattan one of the days over the bridge, and we rented the Citibikes which was another great experience. It was always nice to be able to return to this quiet haven after a day walking the streets. We will definitely be back!
Staying at Silvano & Craig's place was a perfect way to end my days during my trip to visit friends in Brooklyn. We were quite busy during the day and evening and so I didn't get to spend as much time as I would have liked at the place and exploring the great neighborhood. The quarters were very private - the bedroom was quite large and the attached bathroom was perfect. Also I felt very safe coming back at night which is extremely important. This is the best B&B experience I have had! Thanks and I'll be back!
I'm frequently on business in New York so a home-away-from-home is vital, especially with good transport links. I adored staying with Craig (sadly Silvano was away) at their delightful, characterful (and clearly very loved) home. Craig made me feel so welcome, and the room/bathroom were perfect for me. I especially appreciated the details - the good wi-fi, the plethora of charging points, the handy information sheets. Craig and Silvano are the most thoughtful and kind hosts imaginable and their home is a treasure trove of their experiences and interests. Every object in the house seems to tell a story, and you just know all those stories would be fascinating!
