About This Listing
This fresh, spacious and clean sanctuary allows you to unwind after a busy day on the medieval, cobbled streets of Edinburgh. Relax in a comfortable bed in a quiet area just minutes to the city centre. Hearty breakfast and ugly dolls also provided.
I would like to welcome you to a clean, spacious and pretty room which has a comfortable double bed, a dresser, bedside tables with great reading lamps, and a desk. It's also the biggest bedroom in my 2 bedroom flat (lucky you!).
My flat is a two-storey maisonette (kitchen/lounge/bathroom on the top floor) and has awesome views of Arthur's Seat and the Salisbury Crags. Upstairs has the large living room with a fireplace, dining area, a fully-equipped kitchen and lovely bathroom with pedestal sink and bathtub. Hot water even comes out of the taps too! Overall, the flat is quiet, clean, tastefully decorated (if I do say so myself) and very central to the best spots. I love living here.
PLACES TO VISIT
No matter what time of year you come, there is lots to see and do in Edinburgh! And you will be super central: 8 mins to the Royal Mile, 12 mins to Waverley Station, 3 mins to Tesco, 5 mins to the University of Edinburgh, 15 mins to New Town and only 12 mins to the Castle! No public transport for you!
PLACES TO EAT
As a cost-conscious "foodie" myself, I know how important it is to find affordable but GOOD restaurants. Don't despair - I've done my research! Nearby are dozens of great restaurants for all budgets (Kebab Mahal has the BEST shawarma!) and I can recommend great spots for any time of day... I am an expert eater & drinker. It's a special talent of mine.
You will have your own key to come and go as you please. My flat has gas central heating, a washing machine, a microwave, fireplace, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, and free unlimited WiFi. Many guests have commented on my amazing, super-fast internet speed. Street parking is available too. Linens and towels are provided.
I provide an assortment of simple breakfast foods (depending on my hunting skills): salami, cheese, eggs, bread, bananas, coffee, tea, juice, milk, various cereals, porridge, jams, Nutella, etc, (though I do recommend a full Scottish breakfast at a great restaurant less than 5 mins away!)
You will have full access to my whole flat, with the exception of my bedroom. (But, c'mon, that would be creepy if I didn't say that).
Interaction with Guests
I've had some of the most unusual and fulfilling chats with my guests, ranging from Brazilian cooking techniques to Roman road-building methods in Britain in the 4th century. I tell ya, people are fascinating.
BUT: I am there as much as you want or need me! I will follow your lead, and let you decide how much interaction we have. I find that is the best way.
The area along the Pleasance is very central and very safe, with the St. Leonard's Police Station just a block away. The building complex in which I live is clean, safe but comparatively modern (looks like a grey communist block built by Jo Stalin himself) in comparison to the pretty 19th century tenements. But to be fair, what do you care what the building looks like on the outside, when you're on the inside? The views of Arthur's Seat are magnificent and I wouldn't change it for the world.
You don't need public transportation when you live in my flat! You can walk literally everywhere that is noteworthy, such as Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, Holyrood Palace, Grassmarket, Calton Hill, Princes Street and New Town. The only time you need public transport is to visit the Highlands or Roslyn Chapel. Not bad, eh?
Other Things to Note
The building complex can be confusing. A week before you arrive, I will provide directions, outlining an easy route. Please look at the directions when I send them to you!!!!!!!! (They will help! Promise!)

Chelsea has been a great host. Provided helpful tips and suggestions on how to get around Edinburgh.
Her flat is pretty central and walking distance to key places of interests.
Flat is clean and cosy with a pretty view of Arthur seat.
Thank you Chelsea.
Chelsea was fantastic! She made us feel at home and gave us a quick overview of Edinburgh when arrive. Easy to contact and always quick to respond via text message. The apartment is in a great location close by the University of Edinburgh and also convenient to the old section of Edinburgh (castle etc.) She has a fantastic view of Arthur's seat and you can hike up from her place easily. Overall Chelsea is an amazing very nice host and easy to talk with.
Chelsea is wonderful! Her apartment is clean, bright and very nicely decorated. Great AirBnB experience!
This is my first on an airbnb scheduled first check-in, room and pictures the same, very beautiful, via Google maps or found Chelsea home easily. After we arrived at Chelsea are enthusiastic to our detailed introduced all kinds of use in the home and visit and guide, the location of the home is very good, simply walk to visit, Chelsea I more beautiful than on the profile pictures! I like the kitchen, is beautiful scenery outside the window, let the mood of cooking has become more beautiful! We also made a delicious hot pot Chelsea's kitchen, it is so wonderful! It's a pity that we are good in English, or will more exchanges and Chelsea. Highly recommend living in Chelsea, I would recommend to my friends, if I go to Edinburgh, also, hope improve my English, can communicate with more than Chelsea.
I had a great time with Chelsea from the moment I requested my days until I left Edinburgh.
The fact that she is not local (maybe now she is... After 5 years!!) makes her tips just the more relevant.
She's given me many and I tried following them all. (Great call!)
She also gives you space for you to do your own stuff and mind your business.
I was in Edinburgh for less than 3 days and had a great time.
Can't wait to go back and get to see the rest of the country.

About the Host, Chelsea
I am a Canadian completing a PhD in Second World War history at the University of Edinburgh. When I'm not reading my books, I am oftentimes down at the pub, shopping on Prince's Street or walking around Arthur's Seat. I love Scotland very much, and if I need a break, I visit the continent as much as I can. Loving Europe!
Tacky decorum but delicious food, Ciao Roma offers incredible pastas, pizzas and gelatos at affordable prices. The waiters will hit on you.
My favourite "wee Scottish pub" in Edinburgh. Proper table service with proper Scottish food. A little old-man's bar, perfect for trying haggis. But the best dish? ...The sticky toffee pudding!
As a lover of Harry Potter, this cafe is where JK Rowling scribbled the first book! Ignore the queues and go directly to the back room to see the best of the cafe. Elephant-shaped shortbread = YUM.
The Mile has dozens of ghost tours, but this is the best. Can book ahead. Tacky but fun. Scary but historical. Totally worth it.
This plaza offers an unbroken line of pubs, all under a massive castle, set beside the place where they hung all the protestants back in the day. What's not to love? Live music. Fun. Pub grub.
The most expensive restaurant in Edinburgh, but a little secret: Lunch menu is ONLY £18.95!!! Try the Secret Garden to be amazed. Hollywood stars dine here often. Even the S&P shakers are beautiful!
A must-see! There are over 5 different museums in the Castle, justifying the high ticket price. Enjoy a whole morning up there - it's my top recommendation! Make sure to join a free guided tour.
