  • Alessandro was a very friendly host, but unfortunately we ran into a few issues when we stayed there.

We arrived and were so excited to walk into an outdoor courtyard in the building, then through an iron gate and up to the apartment. That's when we found out that one of the two bathrooms was out of order, and so Alessandro took us to another of his locations to stay called Elevenstar. This would have been fine because the interior was much more updated, but there was no wi-fi, which we really needed during our stay. We ended up requesting to come back to Elevenrome despite the single bathroom for all the guests, and spent the remainder of our time there.

The room was very basic, but that was to be expected for the price. We loved having the large bay window in our room and the view onto the street. It was very loud with the window open, but it blocked out almost all of the noise when it was closed, so we slept well. The breakfast was a croissant in a plastic bag and some coffee (or a juice box if you wanted your breakfast before 9:00). The croissants do not look very appetizing, but turned out to be surprisingly delicious!

Alessandro did manage to have the bathroom fixed for our second night, but it broke again within about an hour and remained broken for the rest of our stay. The only time it really mattered was when we slept through our alarm and almost missed our Vatican City Museum tour because we had to wait so long to get into the bathroom to get ready!

We had planned on leaving our bags at the reception area after we checked out from the B&B because we had several hours before our flight. Alessandro said we were not able to keep our bags there because someone was coming to fix the bathroom. He did tell us that we were able to keep them at Termini Station for 4 euros for the day. What he didn't tell us was that was the price for one bag for 5 hours, not the entire day. We had two bags each, and it ended up costing us just under 30 euros just to store our bags there.

On the positive side, the apartment is in a great location, and is within a 5 minute walk to many tourist sights - the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, Capitoline Hill, etc. The metro and bus are also within a 5 minute walk.

  • Allessandro - the host - is very helpful. The place we stay was ElevenStar, his second location, not far from ElevenRome.
It was OK. Clean and quiet.
Two bathrooms is shared for 4 or 5 rooms, so be prepared for it.
    Thaks for staying.

  • Alessandro was a lovely host....very helpful and sweet. The house is a great start to a Roman experience as it is so typical of an Italian city residence. Massive front gate, iron gates that lead to the marble stairwell, an old style elevator and massive wooden doors that lead to the apartment. The room was very basic yet very clean as was the shared washroom. The pros of this B&B is that it is walking distance to all of the old sections of Rome....Colosseum, the ruins train station are all within a 3km radius....if you are looking to be a tourist. Even the Vatican is only about a 3km walk from this residence. The down side is that the area of this location is very noisy -day and night and without having the windows closed it would be impossible to find some peace and quiet. This is however a minor complaint as being tourists we spent very little time in the room. I did feel that the cost of the room which ended up being over $100 was steep. The room was initially advertised at $72 and that was a more appropriate cost for this B&B.
The breakfast (I only make this comment because this is advertised as a B&B) could be significantly improved.

  • Thank you for our great stay! You can't beat B&B Elevenrome's price and easy access to lots of bus lines + the metro. We booked very last minute and were still accommodated. We especially enjoyed the breakfast that was brought to our room and according to our requests. We will stay here again next time we come to Rome!

  • The host canceled my reservation 4 days before arrival and 24 hours before my international flight to London. Now I have to find a place when its 0100 hrs in Italy and everyone is asleep. I wish the owner could of helped more and found me some options, I live 6000 miles away and its not easy finding a place 4 days from my stay without paying a whole lot more. Just because I have 4 days doesnt mean I have time to look. I could have been on vacation already and have no internet access, then what, I arrive in Rome with no place to stay. Everyone has circumstances come up but it would be a good idea to HELP out the people you cancel instead of telling them a pipe broke. How would I know you are not just changing your mind. I have to give the owner the benefit of the doubt but if its not true, which I could check when i am in Rome, I feel Karma comes back on everyone.
I just gotta do what i can to find a place now, no reason crying over spilled milk. I just have to share my story and warn all Airbnb users, always have a back up plan if possible. OR a lot more money to spend on short notice!
