Located in Nordend, close to Cafés, Cinemas, Shops, Downtown, and Frankfurt's vibrant Berger Straße.
The U-Bahn takes you directly to the Main Station/Hauptbahnhof in 15 Minutes; with one transfer you get to the Convention Center/Messe in 15 Minutes, or the Airport/Flughafen in 30 Minutes. If you plan to drive, make sure to plan extra time to look for a parking spot!
The Apartment is on a quiet street in a friendly neighborhood.
The peaceful bedroom has a double bed and a reading corner; the living room has a marvelous couch -- great for relaxing, watching a movie, or taking a nap -- which folds out into a comfortable queen-sized bed for some serious sleeping.
There is also a dining table with 4 chairs, in case you'd like to enjoy a feast at home with groceries from the Kleinmarkthalle (2 stops away on the U-Bahn)
Wi-Fi; printer; stereo with CD, Cassette and mini-disc
TV/DVD Player with a small collection of films and shows.
Piano (electric, with headphones) and Guitar.
Small, but fully equipped kitchen (tea kettle, toaster, mixer, oven, small fridge, espresso makers, pots and pans, etc.)
Small bathroom (shower only), but gets the job done.
On the top floor (sorry, NO LIFT!), therefore very well-lit with a good view of the sunset and the beautiful tree-lined street and lovely houses. It's a 100-year-old building with the original wood floors and high ceilings. It has its quirks, but I prefer to call it "Bohemian".
All you need for a nice stay in Germany's most connected city!
The fine print:
Please contact me about availability before booking. I request my prospective guests to fill out the airbnb.com profile (including photo!) or provide personal information through the website’s email before I will accept a reservation request. I request notification of your arrival time at least 72 hours in advance of your arrival (when applicable).
No smoking, sorry!
And apparently, I have to repeat this rule: NO SMOKING!
Also, I have lovely neighbors who have become good friends, and I would like to keep it that way. So, please be a good neighbor!! Often times, they will be handing over the keys, which is why I require that your profile have a photo.
Allow extra time to your travel plans if you need to park your car. This is a very populated area, with strict parking rules. Finding a "free" spot is a challenge!
Christine gave us a warm welcome and we could promptly reach her by email/text at any time of the next three days (as we could before booking). The apartment is clean and very well connected with the center and the Buchmesse. It is located in a historic building, delicious, with the only disadvantage of not having an elevator (so forget large travel bags or -- even worse -- heavy suitcases to be carried up the almost spiral staircase of wood). The neighborhood is quiet, neat and very elegant (in a residential area), with cafè and deli shops at hand and there's a very well equipped supermarket in the next street. Surely it is an ideal choice for one or two people, and we'd love to go back there again next year, during the book fair. If I really had to criticise something, the bathroom is really tiny and the door did not lock, but would stuck at ten centimeters from the door frame, without even reaching it to close (which would not be such a big problem for a single person, but if you plan to go there with a friend or two, you'd better make sure it's been fixed!)
Tiziana (Pasquale's wife) is right about the bathroom door!
It is definitely more convenient for singles or couples. Otherwise it provides good ventilation (and is really only 10 centimeters gap, but still poses a problem for, well, certain matters of business). I will definitely have it fixed before you return next year for the book fair. Thank you - Ci vediamo!
Christine è estremamente gentile, disponibile e simpatica!! Consiglio assolutamente a chi è interessato di contattarla!!!
Christine was a friendly and nice host! The flat was wonderful and the neighborhood was perfect!
The stay at Christine´s was uncomplicated, friendly and - best of all - spontaneous! Clean, secure place, awesome breakfast café across the street. She even texted us with tips for going out at night. Staying at her house was like visiting someone you know already - we loved it!
Although I didn't meet Christine because she was on vacation during my stay in her apartment, it was a very friendly correspondence with her. She always reacted quickly on my mails, gave good advices where to go and took care if everything is alright. The apartment is cosy and cute. You got everything you need. The location of the flat (Nordend) is absolutely beautiful, quite and very close to the city centre. I definitely can recommend that Apartment.
Fell in love with the area, and a little coffee shop around the corner. By the end of our stay even steps seemed charming to me :) Very quiet area, but super conveniently located to the center. Place def had character; you can see that an artist lives there:) Would def be back, if I could

I am a freelance opera singer, so I'm often on the road for a week or two (or six!). When I'm at home, however, I love being distracted from my work by enjoying Frankfurt's best neighborhood - Nordend! I speak two languages fluently - English and German. I would like to think that I can speak Italian and Spanish, but to be honest, I'm still working on it -- usually around the corner in my favorite family-owned pizzeria, where the literati meet to eat.
