I can't say enough about Jim and his lovely guest house! My husband and I stayed in Jim's guest house for 5 days and loved all the amenities he had to offer (e.g, washer, dryer, hair dryer, fridge, microwave, private bathroom, towels etc.). He even has movies to watch, food in the pantry and instant coffee. Jim was extremely helpful and gave us wonderful suggestions on transportation and places to visit. We went to two different locations by Jim's that were a quick 10 min train rides away called Dalky and Killeney Hill which are both stunning little towns where you get the authentic local feel of Ireland with affordable food, drinks and spectacular views and landmarks.

Lovely space, lovely neighborhood. The host is super helpful and thoughtful. Not super private (you'll be at the owner backyard) but awesome if you plan to visit the town!

Overall, good value. Good location, very friendly and inviting host. Easy parking on street and easy access to the flat. Bathroom was a bit dirty but not horrible. Pull out couch is not very comfortable and needs to be replaced soon as is quite old and has holes in the mattress. Host charged us 20 euros (40%) more per night for a second person, which seemed quite unreasonable and was not clear to us in the posting.

Jim and Virginia were fantastic hosts, quick with recommendations and directions to local sites as well as public transit updates. The studio was the perfect base to get out and explore during the day and have a quick trip back in the evening to relax and sleep. They even provided a baby cot with an extra throw blanket for our little one. Absolutely recommend this studio!

Whether you're looking to explore the seaside communities just south of Dublin -- Dalkey, Dun Laoghaire, Glasthule, etc. -- or spend time in the city itself, Jim's place is perfect. Close to shops, pubs, the beach and public transportation, it's an ideal base for a relaxing and discovering the less touristy parts of Dublin.

Studio was good. Came with many amenities, including dining ware and cutlery and basic needs to cook. The books and dvds were a nice touch. Had no interaction with host as they were out when I arrived, I was sick through most my stay, and I had an early flight but check out was easy.
