Walk/bike midtown: just blocks from lively restaurants, wine bars, brew pubs, art galleries, and coffee houses, your visit includes a comfy double bed in a 2 bedroom 1.5 bath bungalow in the "City of Trees." Set on a lovely tree lined street, the bungalow overlooks the greenbelt and is located in historic Boulevard Park amongst Victorian and craftsman style homes.
The home's living room features large windows with great views of the neighborhood offering a respite from the hustle and bustle. Relax on the sofa, sip a glass of wine, and gaze out on the lush foliage and passerby's.
Your bedroom, at 10' X 11' is the quietest room in the house. It connects to a Jack-n-Jill bathroom where you may shower. The half bath, nearby, is for your personal use. Also available, is a locked shed for your bike.
Within a few blocks you will find Old Soul Coffee house, a yoga studio, and delicious eateries (farm-to-table fare, Thai, Spanish, Mediterranean, Japanese, Mexican, Italian). Live music venues such as Old Ironsides, Harlow's, Torch Club, Fox N Goose, and Marilyn's are also nearby. I'd be happy to share more once I learn what you're seeking during your stay.
If your passion is biking, this location is perfect as the American River bike trail access is just a few blocks away. It's a smooth trail with plenty of squirrels and rabbits; some cranes and turkeys; and the occasional deer, coyote, and rattle snake.
Most likely, after the ride, you'll be ready for a craft beer and a hardy meal. I'll be glad to direct you to the perfect spot to fill the void.
Back at the bungalow you can sit on the porch or patio, meet neighbors, read, or play with house resident/pet Goldie. The kitchen and washer/dryer are available for your use if needed.
My home is in walking distance to the State Capitol, Old Sacramento, farmers markets, Governor's mansion, museums, and jogging parks. The bus stop is nearby and travels to downtown, towards Old Sac, and to Sacramento State University.
Fruit, coffee, and Nature's Plus flax-seed cereal on site (non-fat milk). Street parking with parking pass.
House, your own half-bathroom just off the kitchen & utility room, shared shower attached to the bedroom (Jack-n-Jill bathroom), washer/dryer, & shed to store bike.
Whatever is appropriate. I enjoy communicating, showing guests around, and also letting them do their own thing.
The trees are wonderful. They are approximately 100 years old and provide needed shade during the hot summer months. In the fall their changing colors are lovely.
Public transportation picks up and drops off across the street, via Regional Transit. This is also a friendly walking and biking community. Many of my long term guests haven't been on a bike in years, but they come to really enjoy riding around town or on the bike trail.
Independent & international films at a nearby movie theater. Also near several good night clubs, coffee shops, live music spots, and really good live theaters with professional actors.

We really enjoyed our stay with Monica. Her home is a gem, built in 1910 and well cared for. Monica was a superb hostess, we enjoyed her house rules, and we enjoyed walking our dog Sam in the older established neighborhood. WE would stay with Monica again in the future.
Monica's place is perfect to explore Sacramento midown. It is for example walking distance to a very nice local coffee shop and also good European restaurants. Charming wooden house in a lovely neighborhood.
Comfortable and nice house. Also it is well located; quite neighborhood. Monica helped me for meeting the city. Great experience.
Monica was an awesome host. Her house is nicely appointed and the room was super-comfy -- And, she got up at 5:00am in the morning to make sure I had coffee for my drive into the bay area the first morning. Monica communicated quickly, politely, and effectively -- I really enjoyed my brief visits with her, too!
Beautiful craftsman in a great neighborhood! Very friendly host and was able to provide us with quality bikes to venture around town. Please note that there is no TV and the bathroom is shared, but there is so much to explore in this area that you are not going to want to stay inside for long! Walking/Biking distance to everything.
Monica is a wonderful hostess. She knows all the great places to get food, trendy shows and places to see. The guest room was comfy and Monica insured plenty of space was available for clothes. The house is in a very strategic location in Mid-Town. I was interning for 9 weeks and the setup worked out great. The walk to town center and the 24 Hour Fitness Club were convenient. Biking is also a great way to get around town. Be sure to try Butter n Bacon and Old Soul Coffee. Sacramento has many unique eats!
Monica was the ultimate host ! Her home is welcoming and comfortable. I am very particular about beds, since I have a bad hip, and every single night I was there (almost 30) was a night well rested. The bed was extremely comfortable. Monica was very helpful with recommendations for local businesses, sporting activities and fun spots in the Mid-town area. The location was ideal. I would stay here again and again and count Monica as a lifelong friend.
Very comfortable room to stay in and street parking was easy to find nearby. Monica was easy to coordinate logistics with and helpfully provided great recommendations for restaurants in the area. Also, her dog is very cute and friendly!
the bedroom was wonderful. Monica was a great hostess. If I find myself back in Sacramento, I hope to stay there again.
Monica was the sweetest host! She was warm and welcoming and gave us directions for all the geat places in downtown Sacramento. Her house is located in the nicest and quitest part of the city of trees. Highly recommended place!
