  • Had a short stay here when visiting NY. Location is good however it does take about half hour on the trains to Times Square. Coming back in the evenings and early hours was never a problem we always felt safe although don't judge the area on first impressions as it can seem a bit intimidating. The room was basic and you get what you pay for. The beds comfy and there's a hot shower and working kitchen. The only issue with this place is the bugs that are everywhere and it isn't the cleanest but for the price you can't complain.

  • The area wasn't so inviting initially but we warmed up to it. It was safe and everyone seem to be minding their own business. The room was just like in the photos. We get what we paid for and we liked it, except for the squeaky bed.

Robinson was nice and friendly. He answered all our questions and even brought us a standing fan upon request the very next day. Our flight was delayed and we arrived at 2am but Robinson still showed up and let us in the room.

The other roommates was alright. We didn't see them often as we were usually in our room or out all day but they were all pretty decent. The noise on most nights were tolerable and only gets loud occasionally.

If u book this room, bring your own toilet paper, towel and basically everything u need personally to make your stay much more comfortable.

All in all, great stay and host!

  • Robinson is a very kind person. We called him once we where in front of the building and he picked us up in about 15 min. He doesn't live in the apartment. The room was OK, if you want to save some money this is the room for you. If you are picky, DO NOT STAY there! We are a very easygoing couple, so we did not mind so much...
The apartment is very close to the subway, which works 24 hours. It takes about 30 min to reach central park. The area is pretty safe, though you may feel not so safe... there are many shops to buy supplies for breakfast (it is much cheaper than in the citycenter and at the same time you are supporting small shops!).

  • I agree with people saying that you get what you pay for. It was affordable, and very close to the subway station where you can catch the train that goes to the heart of Manhattan in 30 minutes. And the view was really nice too! To mention a bit about the room that are not stated in the info, you have to pay 5 dollars to do the laundry in addition to the price of the card (5$) that you need to use the washing machine and the dryer. Town was okay but we felt a little unsafe when it gets dark outside. I didn't feel like the restroom and the kitchen were too clean, and the folks next door were often so loud that we couldn't rest too well. But overall, it was okay and Robinson was really kind and was very quick to response.

  • It was a great experience. Robinson was attentive from the beginning and received us very well. The room was exactly what was advertised and the apartment clean. The neighborhood looks a little scary at first, but it's safe. The apartment is 35min from Central Park and is 45 minutes from Times Square. Recommended.

  • What a great deal! (Be sure to bring your own towel.) A clean, bright, airy room with a wonderful view, in a well-run building with someone at the front door 24-hours a day. The neighborhood is full of families and hard-working folks who are friendly. Street vendors sell amazing fruits and vegetables at 1/2 the price of anything below 121st St. The subway is just 3 blocks away.

  • The place is pretty much exactly how it said it would be like. It's very simple, it's clean and it's definitely good value. The location is convenient, nice and close to the subway and there's many shops around. It's pretty good for a place to crash after a long day of walking about in New York. Anyway, it's exactly as it is, no frills, but hey that was all we needed, so it was fine.
