Interaction with guests

Generally everything is done over email. I will let you know if I need to drop off linen or similar in advance.

Generally I leave my guests alone to enjoy their stay, but am more than happy to help with suggestions of things to do or any help needed.

The neighborhood

The Windsor end of Chapel Street is full of great places to eat and quirky furniture and hip clothing shops a definite must.

Up High Street from Williams Road are antique and homewares shops all drool worthy.

Head to St Kilda Beach where you can dine 5 star or grab fish and chips and sit on the beach. Maybe take a ride on the Roller Coaster at Luna Park or go bar hopping down Fitzroy Street.

Grab a tram into the city and be a culture vulture doing the National Gallery, Federation Square and ACMI or just hit the shops, then the bars Melbourne is famous for.

There is a bike for use at the flat.

There is a carpark for a small car off street or plenty of all day and night parking in surrounding streets.

Please feel free to use what is here but replace it if you finish it. I like to keep basics here like oil and salt & pepper, washing powder etc. if your animals cause issues with the neighbours I will have to ask you to leave, often leaving them inside when you are out reduces barking. Please let me know if anything goes kaput while you are here rather than leaving me to discover it after you leave. It is an old style building so the odd quirk is to be expected, but it is nice and solid and has a bath. Enjoy !

Excellent and charming apartment, extremely convenient and accessible to the Melbourne CBD. Extremely dog friendly, a dog park is directly across the road for your furry friends.

We didn't enjoy our stay here. The location was a reasonable walk away from everything, the supermarket is a 20 minute walk - not quite in the heart of the action. We thought we would be closer to a lot of the local amenities. However, there is a lot of public transport nearby. I do not recommend this place for people with allergies given the dog hair and dust. The kitchen was also not the cleanest and needed a good clean. The Wifi is reasonable but there are monthly limits. The TV has a shared antenna in the complex and this went down for over a week - with little feedback about how this was getting repaired. Even though the bedroom is double glazed you are on a busy main road and the traffic is clearly audible. The car park is for a very small car only.

Response from Saskia:
Always disappointing when people don't communicate at all then leave a negative review- I could have sent the cleaners back in for you if you had let me know you weren't satisfied. I do state it is a pet friendly stay and that it is a small car park in my description. The TV antenna was beyond my control and I did let you know the whole antenna had to be replaced and when it would be done. It is under a 10 minute walk to Chapel street. The fact you used every square of toilet paper, every tissue and every grain of washing powder all the olive oil and left nothing makes me think you guys might be more hotel people than Airbnb people.

This was a great spot! Simple accommodation that had all the touches of home. It made moving to Melbourne so easy, especially with our pooch! One thing that wasn't simple was the king size bed! Soooo comfortable! We ended up buying one ourselves after we found our own place! Thanks Saskia! :-)

I had a long-term stay at the Windsor pad and was very happy there. The apartment was a good size for one person or a couple. It looks even nicer in person than the pictures, it's clean and everything you could need was supplied. The bed is literally the most comfortable thing ever. The courtyard was great for my two dogs, very secure, and there were a lot of great parks nearby for them to run around. The area is lively and close to shops, restaurants and transport. Saskia herself was a great hostess. She is very knowledgeable about the area and answered any questions or issues that I had very quickly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this apartment.

I had a wonderful stay at the Windsor pad. It was clean and comfortable. It provided everything that one could ask for in an Airbnb. Saskia was an excellent host. I would definitely recommend her place for future accommodation.

I live in the country now on 7.5 acres with my 2 dogs. I used to live in the apartment but now I like to spend most of my time in the country and just have a city crash pad I can use every now and then. I rent it out most of the time. It's in such a great location I never want to let it go.

I have my own business and have travelled a lot and like to stay in apartments when I travel so I figured people might want to stay in mine. In the last year I have been to Vancouver - very like Melbourne so of course I love it. Seattle was surprised how much I liked it and had the best Vietnamese I have ever had including Vietnam. New York well what do you say other than NEW YORK, wish I could afford to go every year.
