Borrow a bike or board and explore all that ocean beach has to offer!

You're welcome to share a large outdoor living area that includes BBQ, deck, dining table, hammock etc. There is no bathroom in the trailer, it is shared and you have to come in to our home to use it. There is wireless internet and a parking spot in the rear.

For an extra fee, we will arrange to drop it off at a near by camp site, otherwise it is located in our driveway. Also available for filming, photoshoots, weddings, pop up shops, happy hour,-Just ask!

Please note that like much of greater downtown area, we are on flight path. Although it is convenient to have our airport downtown, it makes a lot of san diegos urban areas on the flight path and some people may notice it, some people may not.
Visit our neighborhood park, Robb Field- a recreation complex with multiple tennis, basketball and handball court. It also has a fitness gym, lighted softball and multi-purpose fields, playground area for kids, and acres of wide open grass with picnic tables and shade trees.
Just one mile from the Ocean Beach pier, the second longest pier in California. It’s an amazing, panoramic location from which to drop a fishing line (no license needed), take a romantic stroll, or grab a burger and a beer at the OB Pier Café.
Be sure to visit the Tide pools at sunset cliffs , one of the most beautiful locations in the world, named after its amazing sunsets. Take a leisurely stroll down to sea level and explore the magic and the mystery of the tide pools at low tide.

  • I had an incredible time! As a trailer and rv enthusiast (I've been around the block a few times) the Bonsai Bubble is absolutely beautiful!

Its close to everything important and OB, and the courtyard is awesome for relaxing.

  • The Bonsai Beach Bubble is s(phone number hidden)cool!!! It's been fitted out newly and very comfortably. The bed is super comfy and there's lots of room to put bags and chill out. It is also surprisingly private. Helene made my stay really fun. She was overflowing with energy and fun and was supremely helpful with anything I needed, from Internet instructions to places to go shopping. The beach cruiser bike and boogie boards made living just four blocks from the beach extra fun, and the communal courtyard felt almost palatial. It was great as a single traveller especially to feel part of a little community. A brilliant spot and I thoroughly recommend this to anyone who wants fun, funky, affordable and very unique accommodation in San Diego. Thank you Helene, I can't wait to come back :-)

    Lisa was a good host.

    Thanks for the stay

  • I stayed with my 15 yeared old brother. It was great! Better than anything we could have expected! Lisa, the girl in charge of the place was very warm and welcoming! The Bonsai Bubble was very clean, comfortable and friendly!
We took the best advantage of all the public transportation, the bus stop was just a few steps from the Bonsai Bubble.
    We had a great time!
    Surfing was cool!

  • Helene was an absolutely fantastic host! I got to see her several times while she cleaned the house in front for the next guests staying there and she is just lovely. Always smiling. :] She knows the city quite well and made great suggestions on where to eat. The Bonsai Beach Bubble is a sweet cross between "roughing it" and living lavishly! The design of the airstream is an awesome contrast to the cool light wood floor and open windows inside. The super comfortable bed helps you dream up the next days adventures in the city or on the beach. I highly recommend staying at one of Helene's properties!

  • The Airstream was classic and Helene was an excellent host and extremely accommodating - by text, email and in-person. The local recommendations are also great. A pleasure to recommend.

  • Great place to stay! Lovely neighbourhood, really close to the beach, many restaurants and bars.
The beach bubble was really cute as well as the backyard with space to chill and bbq.
Only thing u probably should think about is the fact that it is a little bit more like camping and u got no real walls, but sure worth it!

  • A cool place near the beach and some funky restaurants, etc. Helene is very helpful and a wonderfully conscientious host. Would stay again for sure. Her main house would be great for a family or friends get-a-way. Fun space and very reasonable. Short drive or walk to lots of stuff.

  • Helene is a great communicator, and got me squared away even when I had to change my arrival time. The Bubble is a delight, simplistic and rustic and comfortable and unique. Samurai the fish can be a little noisy stomping around all night, though. (KIDDING!) The bicycle is a nice bonus, there are excellent trails along the beach and parks in the area. Be aware that this whole part of San Diego gets lots of close overhead airplane traffic, so it will be a little noisy anywhere you stay in the area. But I would gladly stay here again -- the weather in San Diego is great, so staying in a trailer is especially enjoyable.

  • My girlfriend and I had an amazing time at Helene's property. I am so grateful to have had such a thoughtful and professional host. I would love to stay again on our next trip to San Diego.

About
HI! I am a photographer and my husband is a musician and scientist. Our house is our sanctuary and we love to share it with others for their own little slice of paradise while on vacation or staycation. The Juniper Zen Palace is a 2 bedroom house and serves as our primary residence, although we vacate when the entire home is rented. We have an extra detached guest suite with its own bathroom, fridge, and microwave that is available as well and sleeps 2, or is available with the entire house for an additional charge. Our pride and joy is our Mobile Love Den, a 1958 Dalton canned ham that is fully restored and has gotten rave reviews so be sure to check that out if that sort of thing floats your boat! We will also rent out our inside guest bedroom by itself sometimes, so email if you are just looking for one room. We have a small dog, June Bug, who is a Boston Terrier. She stays at her friend's house when the entire home is rented. If you intend to rent the suite or spare room, please be warned that she may come in for a morning snuggle and may jump on your luggage when you first arrive. Our home is a charming early 20th century craftsman that has been nicely restored and is designed in our own eclectic style. If you rent the whole house, you'll have shelves full of LP records, cd's, and great books to keep you company. Also at your disposal are fresh fruit and veggies from the garden, backyard bbq, fire pit, cabana and banquet table with night lights, hammock under the tall bamboo and banana trees, and many more simple but fun delights. We truly do love hosting people and have had great guests from all over the world gracing the pages of our guest book.
