Interaction with Guests
I am happy to answer any questions before your booking and during your stay. I will be there to greet guests in person to give a brief orientation. I live on the main floor so I am available most of the time, and guests will have as much privacy as they like.
Uphill is the closest neighborhood to downtown Nelson and historic Baker Street. There are many heritage homes to enjoy viewing as you walk to town.
There is public transit very close by, the bus stop is just a block away. There is on-street parking just steps from the front door. The shuttle from Castlegar Airport will drop you off at the Hume Hotel or directly to our place for an extra charge.
Quiet time is observed on the property from 9pm to 7am because we have 2 small children.
Katherine was a wonderful host. We had a great time staying at Cedar Street. It is close to downtown so we would have walked everywhere during the summer. We did choose to drive the few blocks to downtown as we are not use to walking around in snow and ice covered sidewalks and my husband had recently injured his knee.
The suite was beautiful with amazing views of the the west arm of kootany lake. Although, the lake may not be visible during the summer due to the abundance of trees in the area. Katherine greeted us on arrival and provided us with some information about the area and the ski whitewater ski area. The suite is very spacious, has a well stocked kitchen, and an amazing large shower. They did a wonderful job on the remodel with a great use of space, and windows that provide an abundance of natural light.
Having access to WiFi helped us navigate the area with ease in addition to the brochures and local maps provided made it a breeze.
Katherine also made sure we knew we could email her anytime with any questions as she checked emails regularly.
One night we had a door of our car not close all the way leaving on the inside light, they were kind enought to come down and ask us about it, which saved us from waking to a dead car battery in the morning.
I would recommend Cedar Street. We had privacy during our stay and enjoyed the helpfulness of our hosts.
Katherine's garden suite was an extremely pleasant place to stay. The suite is spacious and had all the features and amenities that made our stay extra comfortable, such as a wonderful bathroom, dishwasher and washing machine. The space is well distributed and private, and located in a beautiful street, walking distance to downtown Nelson. Katherine is a friendly and welcoming host. Having stayed there for a week, we would definitely enjoy staying there again!
I recently stayed for a week at this very comfy and spacious suite. The kitchen was well equiped and nice touch of a fruit basket on my arrival. Location is great and everything is just a short walk away. The TV was rather complicated as it is only apple TV but wasn't a problem as Wifi is good. I would definitely stay here again.
A great place to stay in Nelson located in a quiet neighborhood only 5 minutes to walk to downtown Nelson. The suite is beautifully renovated with a lot of contemporary elements and details. There was enough space for all 3 of us. Katherine prepared an extra bed for the 3rd person, which fits perfectly beside the sofa in the living room area. The kitchen is well equipped and the queen size bed is very comfortable and the shower is huge. Everything was welcoming and clean. Our 17 year old foster daughter especially enjoyed the Apple TV! We will stay there again anytime - thank you Katherine for having us!
We had a great stay here with our 1 year old. The suite had everything we needed including a full kitchen. A great location for walking downtown or to the park.
Yes I guess you could hear some footsteps as you do in most basement apartments but everyone respected quiet time.
The host and her children were very welcoming and even left a few treats for us.
Our best air B&B experience so far.
We had a great time with Katherine and her family. They have a very nice lower suit, well equipped and close to downtown. We were able to get everywhere we needed by walking.
They were very kind to us. They welcomed us with fresh black berries harvested from their garden. We also enjoyed their invitation for a wood fired oven pizza and a great conversation. We had the chance to enjoy the fruit from their beautiful pear tree; they even gave us some dried pears as a treat.
The location was great, easy walk to town. The overhead noise was really loud and very hard to ignore.
Katherine was very friendly, nice family.
We are a couple in our mid-thirties with two little children living in Nelson, BC for last six years. We love exploring the nature that surrounds us by hiking, mountain biking, canoeing and snowboarding. We are creatively inclined, we are passionate about gardening and growing food so in the summer luscious gardens abound. We love animals and have a senior Rhodesian Ridgeback dog and a young orange tabby cat. There is always a lot happening around here!
