Interaction with Guests
I am happy to answer any questions before your booking and during your stay. I will introduce myself at the start of your stay to offer tips on places to check out. Otherwise, you will enjoy a lot of privacy.
Uphill is the closest neighborhood to downtown Nelson and historic Baker Street. There are many heritage homes to enjoy viewing as you walk to town. Mountain station rail trail is a beautiful hike through the forest only a ten minute walk away.
There is on-street parking just steps from the front door. The shuttle from Castlegar Airport will drop you off at the Hume Hotel or directly to our place for an extra charge. It is a ten minute walk to downtown to enjoy cafes, restaurants and shopping. But if you don' like walking uphill there is public transit very close by, the bus stop is just half a block away.
Quiet time is observed on the property from 10pm to 7am because we have 2 small children. The walls are well insulated inside but sound travels easily outside. Please have fun but be mindful of little people sleeping late at night.
Thank you Katherine. The suite was lovely, and COOL in the sweltering heat. The ease of access and check out was fantastic for us as well.
All went great! Lovely big apartment and very central. Katherine even left us fresh blueberries and coffee! You could hear the kids upstairs a bit but only happy feet running around. We could not hear voices at all. Great spot and would love to stay again in the future!
We love our stay here. The suite was cute, unique & very clean. The proximity to town was great. Hills were a little challenging coming back from town, but a quick cab was easy to come by! We enjoyed our stay and will defiantly be back!
I was made to feel very welcome by Katherine. Lots of local knowledge which is always a big help. Thismorning I had a visit from the house ginger tabby too who recognised an animal lover and once was invited in was very helpful and great company :-). The apartment is really well located, clean, attractive and amazing value.
Thank you Katherine for sharing your tranquille oasis and giving information on the arts & crafts. Loved the cottagey feel of the suite, the coolness after a hot day downtown, breakfast at the picnic table in the am, and the privacy & coziness your garden provided. The garden suite was very clean, well equipped, and comfortable. A truly relaxing holiday! Missing your pet? well...Leo the cat is there to comfort you. Little touches mean a lot - berries from the garden & refreshing coconut water awaited our arrival. Would love to visit again
The suite is very beautiful... So comfortable & quiet- one could not ask for anything more well equipped & cozy - the kitchen is awesome & everything is so clean! My grandson visited me often & Katherine & her children made us feel so welcome & at home! Also, it is a very reasonable walking distance to the main street of Nelson! We will definitely be back!
What a wonderful place to stay! Clean, quiet, well-situated (as long as you can handle the hills, which are unavoidable in nelson). Katherine was a great host and I'll definitely be recommending this place to others.
Laura was wonderful to communicate with leading up to the booking. It was a pleasure to meet her and chat with her. I was pleased to hear the suite was only a couple of blocks from her sister's place. Laura took really good care of the suite and left it in perfect condition. We would be pleased to host her anytime!

We love exploring the nature that surrounds by hiking, mountain biking, boating, horseback riding and snowboarding. We are creatively inclined, we are passionate about gardening and growing food so in the summer luscious gardens abound. We love animals and have two dogs and a cat.
