Our home is located in a quiet and safe neighborhood that also happens to be a convenient base for travelers.
- 5 miles south of PHX airport (15 minutes drive)
- 7 miles from downtown Phoenix (20 minutes drive)
- 1/2 north of South Mountain Park
We currently have two rooms available; this listing is for the one with a full size bed and brown desk (A room).
We provide clean sheets, pillows, and towels for all guests. There is wireless internet throughout the house. All of the appliances can be available for you to use. Next to the fridge, there is a goodie bar where you are welcome to grab a chocolate or make yourself some coffee, tea, or hot coco. There is a hairdryer under the sink in the guest bathroom. We also have an iron and ironing board available for use in the laundry room past the kitchen. There is usually a bicycle or two that you can use.
In the evenings, we enjoy going to the climbing gym, running, hiking, playing board games, or watching a movie. Let us know if you have any questions or there is anything we can do to make your stay more enjoyable.
Many restaurant, fast food, and grocery options are only a 1/2 mile away. The city bus service (Phoenix Metro) stops 1/4 mile north of the house and can take you to the airport or ASU main campus/downtown Tempe. The Legacy and Raven Golf Clubs are just across Baseline Road to the north of us.
The rooms are both on the second floor, which will require going up stairs. Since we have two rooms listed separately, there could be another guest staying in the room next to yours who would share the bathroom with you. Each guest room comes with a key so you can lock the door when you are out.
Alana & Richard run a wonderful operation out of their mountainside home. We found them to be flexible and accommodating of last-minute changes to our plans, which was extremely helpful. The room got a bit warm at night, but was easily remedied by opening the window. They provided a room key so we had the option of locking our room while we were out, as well as ample information about local restaurants, attractions, shopping, etc. The loft area right outside the bedrooms was a great place to hang out and chat with the other guest(s). Overall, 10/10, and would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Alana and Richard are extremely nice, friendly people. They are easy to work with and their home is extremely clean and easy to get to.
Nothing about the experience was negative in any way.
We would definitely stay there again, already have twice!
Richard and Alaina have a great place and are very welcoming hosts. This is my go-to place to stay in Phoenix!
I haed a wonderful stay and would not hesitate to stay here again if in the area. Thanks Alana & Richard!!
This is a great place to stay. It is very clean and comfortable. Alana and Richard are very friendly and helpful. The neighborhood is very nice too. There is a park right down the street.
Everything we needed for a quick overnight and early airport departure. So very close to the airport, and very nice, secure neighborhood. Our hosts Alana and Richard were wonderful, and made our stay easy and comfortable. I would definitely stay again… No more airport hotels at PHX for me!
Comfortable and convenient. The room was a little too warm but open window and ceiling fan helped. Excellent communication and convenience to a variety of restaurants and shopping within a nice walking distance.
This visit was perfect. Just what I needed. Alana and Richard were gone when I arrived; their trust in me was wonderful. I lay on their couch and looked at the trees and birds out the windows and watched the clouds drift by. After a high-stress trip, this was just what I needed. When they arrived, I found that they had just the right balance of friendliness and reserve that I always hope for in a host. Their house was extremely quiet, clean and welcoming. I can't recommend them highly enough.
What a congenial couple! Alana and Richard are great "innkeepers." Their spacious home is in an appealing place, too, in a neighborhood with bike baths and beautiful Arizona landscaping, close to where Alana and Richard themselves go running and hiking in the wild areas that dot Phoenix. It was easy to find their home, close to the airport, and felt just fine to stay in the cozy bedroom with the shared bath. This is my first time staying IN someone's home, rather than in an entire apartment, and I found it felt safer and homier than staying at a hotel. And Alana and Richard's stories about seeing a wild javenlina (on the running trails) added some spice!
Hosts were sweet and kind. Clean home, comfy bed and hot shower. The private backyard was very inviting and a great place to decompress! I enjoyed chatting in the kitchen with Alana and Richard and other airbnb guest Kim. Hope to return some day!
