About this listing
Discover Los Angeles from the best kept secret in the heart of this city! Enjoy the thriving entertainment, food and culture. Our 1935 classic California Bungalow combines original architecture with modern renovations to create your perfect oasis.
Welcome to the best hidden oasis in the center of Los Angeles!
We nicknamed our house "The Spanish Greens" for the lush garden and vibrant colors reminiscent of 1935 Spanish Revival bungalows. The unique character is in the home's original dark redwood floors, Spanish style archways, french doors melting the indoor atmosphere with the outdoors and original wood windows that capture plenty of daylight and cool breezes.
We are offering our chic, calming bedroom and large shared bathroom with separate shower and deep soaking cast iron bathtub. Our bedroom has a comfortable 4-post Queen bed with a light, modern earth-tone feel. The large room is brightly decorated with abstract art and a wall devoted to personal travel photography. The bedroom opens onto the relaxing patio to sit out and enjoy the pleasant weather. There is also a hammock in the backyard.
You also have full access to the large modern chefs kitchen, wireless internet, and free laundry and dryer. Make yourself at home in the colorful living room, among travel photos & mementos and our movies & TV shows on DVD.
Or create an outdoor office by sitting on the patio to enjoy the warm LA weather. Or relax away the day in the hammock hidden among the fruit trees. If you come at the right time of year, you are welcome to pick the organic fruit or vegetables from the garden.
There is plenty of safe, free and convenient street parking directly in front of our house, if you have a car.
Interaction with Guests
This room is our master bedroom, however we stay in MJ's separate studio in the back, so we will be nearby if you need anything. We will be sharing the bathroom with you, so please be considerate and clean. Usually, we are in and out of the bathroom weekdays between 7:45 and 8:15am.
Occasionally, we will take clothes from the room when you are out, so we minimize bothering you during your stay. Rarely do we forget something from the room. We are quiet at night and appreciate relaxed, easy-going guests.
We are "work-from-home" entrepreneurs. A few times per week, Shannon leaves for work in the morning. On weekdays there is a strong work vibe, and although someone is usually home, we may be busy during work hours.
At night, there is a nice family feel as we like to share and chat with you.
Our lovely Spanish style house in historic Leimert Park is convenient to Jamaican Food, Soul Food, Southern BBQ, shopping, movie theaters, coffee shops and beautiful Southern California historic architecture of the 1920s and 1930s. It's a quaint neighborhood with great soulful energy.
Leimert Park is a predominately middle class African-American neighborhood and home to many known Hollywood artists and producers. The location is literally in the center of the city, between downtown, Hollywood and the beach.
It is an up-and-coming place to enjoy the exciting diversity and urban life of Los Angeles.
Although this city is built for cars, this neighborhood, Leimert Park, is great for those traveling without a car as it's convenient to major boulevards and public transportation.
